That is about what I remember but I am old now. My daughter played there and moved on to play at Lee University with much success playing in 3 National final 4's. She still works at Lee University and is now a assistant Volleyball coach at Bradley Central High in Cleveland, Tn. She loved her time at AC and the coaches. AC Volleyball also has a HOF, they induct (I believe) 5 people every 5 years and they make the induction very special for past players. Most if not all of the ones mentioned here are in it. That makes AC special as well. She loved "Being a part of a great tradition, a great program and a great family."

Not sure but I think AC has been to one Substate since Leffew, Bollinger and Pittman went to state, (4 in a row). Maybe wrong by 1 just not 100% sure. That group was special as was several teams before them. 10 or 11 in a row i believe. I have nothing to do with it any longer so I am not as up to date as I once was. Chill are you interested in JV boys and girls games this fall?

Watched the Oneida / OS girls tonight for the 4A District Championship. It was a game of runs. The first one was Oneida's I believe they got up by as many as 10 to 13 then OS came back and tied it at the half at 28. The second half was back and forth until OS went up by 11 I think it was. Oneida would not go away with 7 seconds left Oneida had a clear shot for three with time running out it rimed out and OS won 56 to 53. Great game to watch two solid teams. I went to the Oliver Springs / Oneida games tonight. OS won both. The girls game was pretty good, OS seems to be improving each week and the Oneida team is pretty solid. Good luck to both in the tournaments.

Oneida is deservingly in the drivers seat mid way. They are a really nice team. Oneida seem to have missed the injury bug thus far which is great. OS is rounding in shape, they have had several injuries before Christmas and all have returned. Still a bit out of shape but it's getting better every day. The injury bug has hit Wartburg as well. Not sure about the other teams . If these three get everyone back and they stay heathy then they could challenge in the tournament. I agree District and Region at Wartburg (that horse has been beaten to death) but it could be big in these tournaments. Good luck to all

Yep first district loss. Oakdale is always a threat with Fred Snow, he is a great X&O guy and uses what he has to it's fullest. You have to say Jellico is much improved for the simple fact that are scaring folks this year. You can't take them lightly or they could ruin your night. I agree Oneida is the best team right now and could very well be in the end, Everyone still has several games road. Oneida is in the drivers seat for the regular season championship, But with the DIstrict tournament at Wartburg it always seems to be an adventure.

Saw the game as well and Oneida played a really good game. They are a solid team and deserve to be in the district lead at 5-0. OS appeared to be tired having played 4 games in 6 days) no excuses, last night Oneida was the better team and deserved to be in the drivers seat. Since the OS injured players have returned they are not a bad team at 4-1 in the district They are hanging in there. The district season is half over and there are a lot of games left. Current District Standings: Oneida 5-0 Oliver Springs 4-1 Oakdale 4-2 Wartburg 3-4 Coalfield 2-3 Still have a shot Jellico 1-5 much improved team Sunbright 1-5

The new rules, officals in (high school and college) are calling this year STINKS. Games are lasting 45minutes longer, for what a free throw contest. Saw a game last night 79 free throws. No idea of the foul count but it had to be way up there. Saw a college game lasted hour plus longer. WHAT THE CRAP IS GOING ON. They appear to be trying to get offense back in the game but free throws are not offense. Defenses are going to have to go to straight ZONE to survive. If this keeps up games are not going to be much fun to watch this season.

Could be why Wartburg wants the tournament at their place. Hmmmmm

If Wartburg gets to hosts the tournament every year then might I suggest the other teams should be allowed to practice there 2 times with 2 hour practices each time the weekend before and the few days before the District tournament begins. The teams that wish to should be allowed to do that. You say where would Wartburg practice well 2 times just like the others. during that time then go to their Middle school to practice.

Don't know for sure but that place rocks when there is that many people are in that gym. I saw games there back in those days it was crazy. WOULD BE FUN.

You can say what you want about "you would rather get beaten badly" but I bet your tone would change if the scores were reversed. There are things coaches can do and still keep the integrity of the game in tack.
