  1. Orcat, If you remember, last season at the Oak Ridge/AC volleyball match in Oak Ridge a parent from AC came out of the stands got in the face of the referee. Then confronted and yelled at both of them, then was ejected. same
  2. Mr Odom is still leading the Elite program, I don't think jackson is involved any longer. Mr. Odom had sent this information to me about possible freshman ..... So this is what I have on the Elite Freshman group.
  3. I know that teams can ask for a waver this year and it be granted, I think it is great they get to host whomever it is. They should. I think it is wonderful that any kid gets to enjoy their successes at home they have earned it. First of all I think the number for Single A is around the (1000, 1100) somewhere in that range, there are not to many true single A schools across the state can accommodate that number. there are some that have been another classification during some classifications changes from time to time but kids prepare hard to earn that right to play at home but the T$$AA can't make enough money so they make those team go to an unknown venue to play which is not a home game by no means no matter how many times you play there in a season. I also have heard the TSSAA has conducted a survey of schools for their seating, I think in all classifications and for some reason they are granting wavers this year strange. Are you (TSSAA) bending or changing rules midstream or finally waking up and letting the kids enjoy the fruits of their labor.??????
  4. You still looking for AAU information. Yell at me Friday and we can discuss
  5. That's an ignorant statement about AJ. I think she averages about 3 or 4 assists a game. And unlike when KC played, every play does not revolve around her. Half of the time she isn't running the point so she doesn't even have the ball in her hands as much as the other did. P.S. who cares? why are you comparing the two still? KC is not playing high school ball. She is an amazing athlete, but not relevant here anymore. AJ is a kid, she has her own issues to deal with, with out an adult accusing her of being a ball hog. Obviously, you haven't seen her play very often. As a leading scorer, she has to take several shots a game, but she still looks for her teammates. Coalfield needs to keep playing as a team like they did against Oakdale and not worry what everyone else thinks. They know if they all play their best and as a team, no one in this district or the other can touch them. Congrats to the Lady Cats. They played hard in the tourney and surprised a lot of people .
  6. I want to say congratulations to the Lady Cats for their District Championship tonight. They won 48-43. Congrats to Maleaha Murray, Hannah Raby, Katie Harvey and MVP Chelsea Harper for making the All Tournament team.
  7. This is the assistant coach for OS girls and I want to say to the Sunbright Lady Tigerettes congrats, they out played us last night and they earned a hard fought victory. They played inspried basketball for their seniors and earned the win.
  8. actually 52 49 is what I heard but the radio service was blanking out
  9. I can only think of one from Norris that went to OR and I think her father became a principl at one of the middle schools and she is no longer there. Other than that a few from several several years ago went there I think it was back when Phillips, Frazier and that era were there but since that time no one but the one that I can remember. I am 99 percent sure that is fact but if someone knows someone else please let us know.
  10. I am at Oliver Springs now coaching girls basketball down there, I have only seen them (AC) once this year against Gibbs. They lost that game by about 12 or so not sure. So I can't say for sure. Gibbs has one player (Signed with Kennasaw State) and not much else so draw your own conclusions. They do have some young tall kids a freshman that is about 6' her last name is Couples she will be a real player for sure and they have another one at about 6' Ellis is her name and she to will be good when she learns the game a little more she will be pretty good. Leslie Humphery, Danielle Smith are so young freshman that have talent so the future might look good for them.
  11. Oliver Springs @ Oneida cancelled but make up date has not been set. Please list cancelled games tonight due to weather. Also rescheduled dates if available. Trying to find a game to go to tonight.
  12. "YES" I said it "Merry Christmas" to all basketball fans across Tennessee. and everyone else
  13. If Jill wants it to be bad it will be. It could be 30 + easy.
  14. I have worked with HL ???Peanut??? Cummins several years and I want to address his resignation from Tennessee Girls basketball. I will not go into what AAU originally started out to be, who started it and what their original goals were, you already know that. But I do want to address what AAU has become in my opinion. When I first started coaching girls I went to a YBOA National tournament in one of the Carolina??™s and when I arrived I purchased a local paper to see if anything about the tournament had been place in it. To my surprise I saw an article advertising the tournament; it stated if you wanted to participate in the event contact so and so and you would be drawn into the National tournament two days before the event was to start. I see AAU is just about there. Allowing teams to pass on the local qualifiers (i.e. substate and state tournaments) to go participate in a shoe tournament and still be allowed to go to the DI National tournament. All they had to do was contact someone like the National Chairman or AAU president and cry, plead and you got it. This just tells me that any team can call and get in an event just like YBOA. I looked up the National rule that was voted on at the national convention and passed, it states: Qualifiers must also participate in their District Qualifier, if offered. The National Chair may allow a team who has qualified for Nationals through a SRT, NOT to have to participate in their DQT. There is no reason for a team not to participate. SHOWCASE Tournament is no reason. After a team qualifies, whether in a SRT or DQT, and then finishes high enough to qualify in a subsequent Tournament, the next highest team in that subsequent Tournament will also qualify for the Division I National Championship. From an email I saw this week a team is being allowed to do just that, that was Peanut??™s final straw and reason for leaving AAU and this is a tragedy and a blow to AAU girls basketball period. Peanut stands for the kids and did things the right way and the fair way. He spent countless hours going above and beyond his duties as chairman of Tennessee Girls basketball and Governor of SEAAU to see that things were right and fair for ALL. I can??™t believe the National chairs and others in AAU are not trying to get him to reconsider. (Oh wait he stands for fair) I guess they don??™t want to support their own, they would rather lose someone that stands for the right things, than lose one basketball team. I don??™t know when the 1st national convention was convened but committee??™s and representatives from the associations got together to set the by law??™s and rule??™s everyone was to abide by. Each year rules are voted on and passed for EVERYONE to follow until the time that rule is amended and changed. You have to ask the questions why do National level people have different rules than everyone else. Why even have the conventions if the things that are voted on and passed are not followed by all. It appears AAU is lowering its standards just to get their numbers up and to make more money. They are losing numbers because of the shoe and exposure events none of which are AAU. I am adding some email addresses if anyone is interested in contacting the powers to be letting them know your thoughts and your support for Peanut bobby@aausports.org eddie@aausports.org jan@aausports.org james@aausports.org Cgaau@cableone.net aaujan@aol.com Kathyaau@comcast.net
  15. Why do people like you get on here and make comments about a young lady who has worked hard to be the player she is, is it jealousy or some young PUNK trying to be cute either way you are just showing how stupid you are. You obviously don??™t know her personally. /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />
  16. This is the assit. coach for OS and I can assure that Coach Christopher did not, will not and has never said that to anyone anywhere, anytime so you might want to get FACTS!!! straight before slandering someones name and accusing them of any wrong doing unless you know the facts about the topic. You have started something you know nothing about and now have create this hate against her.
  17. I AGREE WITH THE DISTRICT 4 A TOURNAMENT THAT HAS TO BE THE DUMBEST THING EVER FOR A DISTRICT TOURNAMENT. TOMORROW NIGHT THE BOYS WILL HAVE SUNBRIGHT AT ONEIDA FOR CONSOLATION AND THE CHAMPIONSHIP IS AT OS VS WARTBURG, THAT IS WHERE THE THROPY'S WILL BE HANDED OUT EVERYONE WILL HAVE TO COME TO OS FOR THAT AND PAY TWICE IF THEY WANT TO SEE THE CHAMPIONSHIP. AND TONIGHT THE GIRLS CONSOLATION GAME IS AT COALFIELD AND THE CHAMPIONSHIP IS AT OLIVER SPRINGS, THEN THE ONES WHO WANTED TO SEE THE CHAMPIONSHIP, WITH THE SAME DEAL WITH TROPHY'S AND SUCH SOMEEONE SCREWED THIS ONE UP BECAUSE YOU COULDN'T GET THE TOURNAMENT EVERY YEAR SO YOU BANDED TOGETHER AND OUT VOTED EVERYONE ELSE, "DUMBEST MOVE I HAVE SEEN IN A LONG TIME"

  19. Not so quick about state let's, let them get out of the Region first. I will agree their starters, Lailah, Cody, Amber, Hannah, Natalie are really good players but after that they have no one who can contribute if anything happens i.e. fouls or injuries. I know those 5 are pretty good, they have played AAU ball for years and have worked hard to get better. All 5 played with the Tennessee Raiders organization as well as the Tennessee Dawgs organization. I have followed their progress but they can't do it all. They will need at least one or two more step up and contribute. I would like nothing better than a trip to state for these young ladies but it is a tough road with Mo West, Greenville and DB in upper East Tennessee, Heritage, Maryville in the Region and in the district Oak Ridge, Powell. Keep playing hard and working toward that goal you never know.
  20. Congrats to the Lady Bobcats. Big win last night, that puts them up in the district race with alot of work still to do. Although OS did not play great defense last night they did what was needed. They had a lot of girls step up and have great games. OS must stay focused to complete their journey. I also wanted to give the Coalfield team and coaches great credit. They are a really good basketball team.
  21. As an assistant at OS I was there and did not hear of anything like this happening (not to say it did or didn't) but I do know the gym was quite. There were 20 to 25 people asked me personally after the boys game on the way out how she was doing. By that time we had not gotten a real good update, but were told they were doing test. I want to thank those that did ask about her and you're concern for her. She played Tuesday and is back at practice and doing well, She had a bad whiplash.
  22. Congrat from the TENNESSEE RAIDERS ORGANIZATION /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  23. Congrats to Faith and her family, I know she will do great at the Summit. I look forward to seeing a special local young lady get the chance to play for one of the greatest basketball minds of all time. This is something I know she has dreamed about. Good Luck The Leffew's
