I have heard the new HC at JoCo inherited a pretty dang good team. Obviously, the Vikings take this one but I do think Johnson County has a good year. I think they will finish 3rd in their league behind South and Betsy. Vikings going to be down this year?

Blazer, what's the story at Boone? I always think of good football when I think of Boone, but I haven't been hearing good news coming out of there the last couple years. I realize they play in a very tough league, and play an even tougher non-conference schedule...but I still think they would be getting a little more credit than they do.

I don't know anything about Avery, but I did see Cloudland play Johnson County last year. The Whitehead kid was a beast as a sophomore, expect more of the same this year. Landers may be in for a fun, fun year if those kids stay healthy. Good luck to both teams.

Saw where Johnson County won the 7 on 7 tournament, they getting away from traditional JoCo under new HC? Any scouting reports on how anyone else looked?

I have seen South twice this year, they are extremely athletic, but seem to have trouble scoring at times, especially against a zone where they are forced to knock down shots. I still think them, Elizabethton, and Unicoi are all better than anyone in the District 2, just my opinion of course. Should be a fantastic District tournament.

Very anxious to see how this final week shakes out. Anyone have a scouting report on the other District? I know Greeneville's always tough but I haven't heard much from anything down that way...

I'm assuming Greeneville's football kids didn't play in that Cherokee game. I saw both play at the Hardee's last night and I think Greeneville is the better team. The Wright kid from Greeneville is a beast. Cherokee is really well coached and fundamentally sound, but Greeneville is better. I haven't seen Grainger, heard they were tough. Anyone know much about them?

They try to be balanced offensively, but tend to be a little pass heavy. They pride themselves on the hurry up offense. They try and get as many offensive snaps as possible. QB is a sophomore, has some potential but has thrown a ton of interceptions. My prediction would be that they will have a ton of 3 and outs against West and it won't be a game after 1st quarter....

They really should be better than they are with 1,300 plus kids l. I think they are obviously better than they have been, but still no wins this year that they shouldn't have won.

Thomas will be best player on the field Friday night, no doubt about it. BUT, the next best 4 or 5 players will be South kids. Neither of Elizabehton's QBs hold a flame to Weiger. South's receiving core is night and day better than Betsy's. And the best defensive player on the field is the Bond kid from South. If you don't think so check the paper Friday and see how he has 25 more tackles than anyone else in the 3 Rivers. Only my opinion, and no disrespect intended.
