  1. Tyler is a great player. Hope he has a speedy recovery and a great career at Covenant next season. He is one of the better hitters in this area.
  2. Chattanooga Central is the team to beat in 6AA. They are very deep in pitching this season thanks to a couple of transfers. SR's Dominique Dawson, Colton Morgan and Sophomore Tyler Lowe return on the mound along with Sr Transfer Chase Spurgeon, Sr Bo Evans, and Jr Tristan Wood. Catcher Ryan Poole is one of the best catchers not only in the Chattanooga area, but in the state. Sophomore's Tyler Lowe, Gabe Fomby, and Scout Morgan will provide the youth movement needed to possibly get this team to the next level. There is a lot of high expectations on Hwy 58 this year and this team will not settle for nothing short of a trip to Murfreesboro. Behind Central, Look for Red Bank to make a run at the district title also. Lions took a hit when Catcher Tyler Phillips hurt his knee in Football. Not sure if or when he will return to the line up. Hagen Wilkey is a superstar and should lead this team along with fellow Senior Gage Winton and Ryder Pierce. East Hamilton will drop to third this season after losing several off last years team. Matty Hinshaw and Austin Gatewood and Hunter Smith to lead. Tyner may have one of there better teams, but will not be enough to overtake the 3 powers above. Pitcher Chae Butler is a very solid pitcher and should do pretty well this season. Look for Hixson to be much improved than last year, but still may be a few years away from competing. East Ridge, Brainerd and Howard will round out the bottom of the district.
  3. Truthsquad, You have offically fallen off the cliff on this topic. For you to question Mr. Sutherland's commitment to support all areas of TN youth wrestling in the state is insane. He, along with others from region 1 and 3 are very committed to not only their regions, but all wrestling in the state. I know him personally and you could not ask for a more dedicated supporter for the success of all youth in Tennessee wrestling. You say that he "sometimes" does his part is totally untrue. Mr. Sutherland is at every top 100 tournament, unlike any representatives or wrestlers from the west. Why would he not want region 4 or 5 not to succeed. The point is to make all the state better in wrestling. The real question is why are your kids from your own region not supporting your own top 100 tournament. There has not been any Memphis area kids attend the first 2 top 100's, but i know of at least 12-15 kids from the club I'm associated with coming to the top 100 this weekend. Do you really think kids from region 1 or 3 are gonna drive out there for any local weekend tournaments when they can wrestle in there own region? No and that doesnt even make sense. These Top 100's were created to bring the whole state together to compete in a more competitive tournament and to promote youth wrestling all across the state, and the wrestlers from region 3 support all top 100's. Also, you want to question the support region 1 and 3 give, Nashville and Memphis have 2 million people and Chattanogoa has about 300,000, and Chattanooga still sends kids to more tournaments across the state than any other region. Who really is giving more support? Maybe you need to solve your own regions problems before you start going on this public forum and questioning the support other regions like 1 and 3 are giving Memphis/Nashville. Sounds like to me you just have an axe to grind with certain AAU members or you just dont lke the Chattanooga region due to the success that comes out of region 3. I promise you Mr. Sutherland will not be hard to find tomorrow if you would like to discuss any of the issues that you have brought up, anyone there will be able to point him out.
  4. Trust me, I would like to see Central be successful as anyone, but the talent is not there. No way Central could have won 7 games this year. Anyone who knows football and they road schedule they had knew 5 wins was about all that was attainable. You may know the kids well and think they have the talent to compete with the big boys, just dont have enough. Allen, Cook, and Carter should be back, but Lewis? No thanks! Maybe with the state getting rid of the no child left behind will help Central keep some of that talent on the Hwy.
  5. The issue is not the athletes, its depth, and quality depth that is. Central has some athletes, but not enough. Yes, they were in some games, but to say they should have won the games they lost is an unrealistic statement. They got beat in the second half, and why do teams get beat in the second half? Depth! Just ask the Vols! The only game they "should have won" was the Polk County game. They should not have beaten Tyner, Red Bank, Howard, and maybe even East Ridge. The coaches lost the East Ridge game. The Senior class had a chance to be very good, but when talented players do the wrong thing and get dismissed or quit the team due to not wanting to work hard, then a talented class becomes very average. Central's sophomore class is pretty good, not great and they only have a couple of juniors that are players, so anyone who thinks next year will be any different is mistaken. 411 seems to know a lot about the kids going through Central and the ones who have left. That is what Central has to do to become a good program, keep the talent on the Hwy. I doubt they can do that until the administration and coaches make an investment in the program and decide they want to win. Numerous kids over the year have went elsewhere, but if they could keep the talent, they would contend for district titles every year. Where was Jacques Smith zoned for? Central. Where was Demonte Bolden and Greg "Green Mile Smith zoned for? Where was stud running back Justin Houston from Bradley zoned for? All Central. Several stars on other team right now(Ooltewah, Baylor, Tyner, East Ham, McCallie, Signal Mountain, Bradley and others) should be at Central. Got to keep the talent that is in your back yard, I would highly recommend doing whatever you need to due to keep the stud running back from Brown at Central and not bolting for Baylor, Ooltewah, or East Ham.
  6. Boyd has too much tallent for Basin to challenge. Bucs 35 Cougs 7
  7. Polk wins this one by whatever they want to win it by. Miller could have 500 yards rushing if they want him to.
  8. Here is the problem, he has NO help around him. He only has a couple of knowledgable coaches on his staff. Coach Carter is supposed to be the O. Cord, and calls a good game when given the chance. Coach Allen needs to let him have control of the offense and trust him. Coach Cook is a good D Cord and does a pretty good job, only thing is they need to get more physical in practice and learn to tackle better. As for the other assistant coaches, they need to be gone and open up some spots for young up and coming coaches that know the game and can relate to the players. Those that need to go would have trouble coaching on a middle school or even youth football level in my opinion. Central has talent and deserves to be winning more games than thier record indicates. Now for Allen, did some of the trouble makers need to be run off from the program? Yes! Some of the players pounderfan1 is talking about gave Coach Allen no choice but to remove them from the program. Kids today do not want to be pushed and disciplined like we use to back in the day. They have to do the right thing to remain in a program. For the most part, I think Allen is doing a good job, but needs to get rid of some of his buddies that are on the staff and hire some real coaches to help him.
  9. congrats to Mr. Clements. Great young man. Look forward to following his career at UNC!
  10. Seen both teams play. EH over RB 42-14. Too much depth with EH
  11. Central should win this game. If the coaches stay in the spread and feed McKenzie, Pounders win. Central 35 ER 14
