  1. It's my opinion the new district won't be as big of a help for the girls as the boys. Cumberland girls can play. Usually, one of the Boro girls teams isn't that great, so there goes a win or two. The boys will have a MUCH easier run than the girls. In general, I've noticed boys teams are better in large cities and girls are better in rural areas. (No explanation, just an observation) Going by this, obviously the new district is MUCH more rural than the old one. I really think this should help the boys and not the girls. Either way, isn't it just semantics when you have more wins, but they're against weaker competition?
  2. OK, I posted on the boys thread, apparently there's not a lot of crossover. You CAN'T just "go AA". Classification is based on student population. District is based on geography. That simple. We can't choose our classification or district. The only way to "go AA" would be build another school, ala Cumberland Co. Not happening. Good call about not wanting to go AA if it's 7AA, that's Clarkrange territory and I don't think we want any part of them, no matter the classification, maybe they would want to play us, though.... /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" /> Anyway, I'm betting against change at this point. Gotta try the new district.
  3. OK, a coupla things: First of all, shut up about Jaycee freaking basketball. Anyone who has EVER played organized, high school basketball knows that any community league is a joke. Next, the classification thing. TSSAA decides on classification based strictly on enrollment. Then they divide the districts based on geography. We don't have a choice. The Boro has grown to the point they can pretty much have their own district, so we had to go elsewhere. Another thing, 8th best talent for 5 years, give me a break. You haven't seen some of these kids play. I can think of 7 or 8 people who had college level talent in the past six years. That's more than one a year. About 3 college (at some level) talent guys on each team. That's enough to win with. When you're knocking talent, you're knocking the kids. Do you really believe they are the only problem? Cookeville, White Co., Blackman, even Lebanon... none of them match up great on paper, but wear us out on the court. We've had some (not a lot, some) talent. None of them wanted to continue their career at the next level except 2. There's another problem that is a whole different issue....
  4. Although I agree with some of your points, I've got one BIG question for all of you: Who ya gonna get if she does step down? Do you think top coaches are knocking down the School Board's door to get applications? Either way, I think it will be interesting to watch, just don't get your hopes so high that no one, Eades or any other future coach, can live up to them.
  5. New low point for Warren County basketball. That's saying something. Sorry, players, I know it's been tough. Keep your heads up, it's gotta get better in the future. 3 wins, 0 district, ending with loss to a team you thumped first time at their place. Looks like Dekalb improved this season and we, well, they improved.
  6. Actually the Siegel game was 2004-05 season. No district wins since. District record last five years (basically since Keil left): 2-66.
  7. Phoenix, that's good to hear that didn't come from you. I have edited my post to reflect also.
  8. First of all, I'm not your friend, you don't know me. Second of all, are you really telling me your soccer program didn't get a dime? I mean really? What exactly do you mean the "infrastructure"? Is this just a complaint about the supplement? Are you talking about summer programs and youth leagues, etc.? Those aren't the school's responsibility. It seems to be you try to double talk and beat around the bush. If you have something to say, come out and say it. Don't try to wrap your words and be so coy. Although Hoop may be harsh, at least there's no ambiguity about his point.
  9. OK, whitey, with the personal attacks on the coach, AD, Principal, et. al. aside, the other issues are not happening. The physical fitness coach with during school activities.... come one, kids are at school to LEARN, sports are EXTRAcurricular. Besides, different sports need different conditioning. One class with all athletes?!?!? The state won't allow 300 kids in one class and I doubt the football coach wants his players trained the same as the soccer players, etc. This isn't college, deal with it. Funding: The only two true revenue sports are football and basketball. Baseball doesn't have a funding problem because they have a solid booster group. This is true for all schools. Sports are given a minimal amount. Players don't have to buy their unis. There is some money going in. If you want to be taken seriously, don't resort to hyperbole.
  10. I knew someone had hijacked Phoenix. My apologies. It is up to the opponent to stop the better team, if they can't and a coach calls off the dogs or changes his style, it could carry over to the next game. You know better than this. Don't bring personal feelings about current and/or former coaches into this. Nitro, if you think there are better players playing "JC or church league" come on man. This is the usual small town attitude. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME!! Civic center all-stars don't equal high school players. We've had plenty of people showing off at the CC and can't find the basket or don't realize how to play team ball for the high school. Just because they are expected to show some fundamentals and team ball. Enough soap box, quit blaming the talent level. We have some athletes, some ball players, if everyone would quit telling them how great they are and start expecting them to work, maybe they would win A district game. Come on guys, work hard and results will follow.
  11. OK, whitey.. I've listened to enough. Sure, Hoop was pretty drastic with his coach bashing, but whatever, she's an adult. You really need to back off the players. They read these boards. Calling them c.p. and bottom of the barrel.... COME ON!!! Maybe you believe high school coaches can't make a difference just because you couldn't!! I have seen plenty of high school coaches come in and make a HUGE difference. Coach Keil didn't have a lot of talent outside of Matt and Randal, but he won. There are many other examples. Coach Randy King at Oakland doesn't always have the most talent in boys ball, but he's always at the top. Coaches can and do make a difference, be it positive or negative. Yes, it's high school, you have to use the talent that is there for you. However, it is up to the COACH, no matter what sport, to put that talent in the position to succeed. This post is more a sports in general than just WC Girls.
  12. OK, Chica. He's Chris, I'm Tommy, WHO ARE YOU???
  13. Moving to 8AAA and getting away from the Murfreesboro schools and the automatic 8 losses they are would be the best thing to ever happen to Warren County sports as a whole. PERIOD.
  14. Football has a streak going of making the playoffs, baseball is always a contender, boys' soccer is usually pretty good, golf is always at the top, volleyball is usually right there. No we don't have year-in, year-out dominating teams, but some get close. Don't dis errbody!!! BTW, Hoop, goorrsshh!!! /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />
  15. That's the best joke I've ever heard on any of these boards!!!
