  1. An example of how bad Micah needs help: Micah has 4 fouls, Warren County up 9, ~6 minutes left in 4th. Micah comes in, goes on a 7-0 BY HIMSELF, WC hits a two, CC hits a three, 1 point game, Micah fouls out. Ballgame, Warren County goes on a 14-4 run for the remainder of the game. Micah is an AWESOME player. I have seen the best play (B. Wright), and he is a better pure scorer. I mean that. However, his defense and rebounding fundamentals have slipped. That is why he is in foul trouble. He was allowing himself to rely on his jumping ability and quickness instead of getting in proper position. Don't get me wrong, I love how he plays, I really think he is underrated by gomab and others and should be in the top 10 in his class. The bottom line is, last night showed how a team can beat an individual. WC had three, almost four, guys in double digits. CC's second leading scorer had 4!! Micah needs help. If he was on a better team and had some help, he would be unbelievable!! Congrats WC on three straight!! Make it four against Blackman for a BIG district win!!
  2. Playing at MTSU gave the region 4 teams an advantage if any of them ever made it to state because the Glass House wasn't a new thing. However, since very few made it, it didn't matter that much. Now that we have some teams that maybe could make it, they don't have that advantage.
  3. I know it was just some dude heckling, but it got me to thinking. Let's take a straw poll of who the all-star team of 7AAA would be and see if another district can match it. PG-Zac Hennigan SG-Michael Lavender SF-Adareaus Dixon PF-Andrew Donald C-Keith Ramsey Bench Darius Roper Devin Boyd Kevin Smith Jimmy Oden Ben Sneed Chaison Allen Michael Hill What do you guys think? Who's missing? Who could beat them?
  4. Amen....one of the commentators referred to Garcia as the "best college basketball player in the nation." Don't knock me, I personally think that guy resides in Chapel Hill, but that is what the commentator said. Also, Brewer took an awesome charge (my favorite play) on Garcia to foul him out.
  5. Not to mention 3 trips to the Sportcenter Top Ten List!!!! thumb thumb thumb
  6. What is the name of this site? Is it "Trashtalk"T, is it "Invade"T, NO. The name of this site is COACHT. This site was created so that people could share observations about players and teams. Intelligently talk, as Oakland put it, with people who know what they are talking about. I wish all of you Siegel guys would take your conversations where they belong, to the Cheerleader Board. Keep it going, homer.
  7. Booterman, your boy Micah Williams threw down pretty good against us last night. He's pretty high for a junior. That first dunk from outside the lane was impressive. I hate to admit it, but I was disappointed when he tried to steal the ball from our point guard at about halfcourt. I was ready for a show.
  8. I'm assuming now that Gribble is not playing. Will he play after Christmas?
  9. Oh yeah, this summer at the Ballerz tournament, Nicchaeus Doaks two-handed from about a step inside the free throw line on a dude that was about 6'11". It was so bad dude's coach took him out of the game. If anybody saw that, I know they haven't forgotten it.
  10. Richard Delk's putback dunk last year in the state quarters.
  11. Warren County at Coffee County
  12. I'll have to say, I really don't know where you have seen Andrew Donald play soft. This kid is a player. Unless you're playing some playground ball with no blood, no foul, you aren't going to get much tougher. He takes charges, rebounds, all of the things you need toughness to do. As far as the other kid not playing hard, that just doesn't happen on a Doug Keil team. He wouldn't be on the court if that was the truth. Also, way to set them straight Oakland about state tourney appearances. Wilson Central may pull off the win, but you really should get your facts straight.
  13. Just noticed that at least 6 of the teams in the district play tonight. The schedule is: Harpeth @ Blackman Cumberland Co. @ Cookeville Warren Co. @ Dekalb Co. Oakland @ Lavergne Riverdale @ Tullahoma White Co. @ Wilson Central What are everyone's thoughts on these games? Do Siegel and Lebanon play also?
  14. You can't touch the rim at ALL. It doesn't have anything to do with flexing the rim or anything else. There hasn't always been flex rims. This has been a rule for a LONG time. This is just another example of the discipline issues that will cost Siegel down the road.
  15. Those rankings were for the midstate, not the entire state. Most of the rankings I have seen have Ramsey around 11-15 in the state. That is still VERY good, but he does move down when you add in the Memphis players.
  16. Easy 85, he's good, but best in the district, I don't think so. Remember, he's only a junior. There are seniors like Oakland's Boyd and Dixon, Lebanon's Donald, Blackman's Sneed, Riverdale's Lavender, etc. that would have something to say about that. Also, unapproved website has him ranked as the 5th highest junior in the district. He's good but don't go throwing that BEST word around.
  17. I heard Gaston wasn't playing, is it true?
  18. Is John Gribble playing? I have heard rumors from both sides that I thought I could trust on both sides. Does anyone know for sure?
  19. You forgot to mention why Moore County had the ball with 6 seconds left. It was a questionable moving screen call with the score tied and 7 seconds left. I'm not saying referees shouldn't call fouls, but unless it's blatant at the end of the game the refs should put the whistles away. The calling all night was HORRIBLE in both games, somewhat lopsided, but not totally, just plain BAD. This really was some of the worst calling I have ever seen. Phantom fouls, while players would land on other players backs and nothing was called. Multiple walks on both teams not called. Elbows. Just terrible calling, bordering on dangerous for the players.
  20. Warren County at Cannon County, Thursday
  21. See Dawg, that right there is showing your ignorance of how the system works. Telling an AAU coach, not to mention evaluator, not to help with the college scholarship signing is just ignorance. I wasn't that much of a believer until this past summer and I traveled to Houston and saw an entire HALF of a VERY large gym filled with college coaches. Not just DIII or JUCO, every DI program you can think of. There is NOWHERE else a kid can get exposure like AAU. If you don't know your info you should probably stay out of the argument. There is simply no one else that know TN high school ball like Jeremy and Andre. Bottom line. You may not agree but don't knock the qualifications.
  22. I know there are a number of playdays around this weekend, but I don't know who is playing in any of them. Someone please enlighten me.
  23. WOW!!! I just can't believe some of these posts!!! I can't believe someone who has committed to an SEC school, ANY SEC school, is not that special of a player. I really wonder if these people have seen X play. I know they have not seen him play with his AAU team. The same goes for Niccheaus. Maybe playing for their high school teams is more difficult. The other teams key on them and slow them down. I have seen this and how players get better when they play with better players. Both of these guys are going to good programs for them. What is left out is that kids who may not have had a chance to get an education now are getting that chance. If you haven't seen these players compete with competition that is better than single A Tennessee basketball, then you simply haven't seen them play. Both of these players' games do need someone to help them create. That is why I think Bailey is the favorite right now to win the award.
