  1. Im suprised nobody commented on this one. Didnt Turbo Smith lose to Baker 5-1 Friday night? Im a big Turbo fan but a little curious on the thought process on this decision? Hey, I know, I know, its your rankings and you can pick whoever you want but this one made me scratch my head.
  2. I dont think anybody is downplaying you guys. We are just saying this is the weakest Bradley has been in 20 years. I think the current Cleveland team would be the equivalent of the old Bradley Dynastys. Lets see how you match up with them this weekend to see how far you've come.
  3. I would guess there are full weight classes. I would say that maybe its new people wrestling or some schools havent posted results so there are no rankings.
  4. I picked Pigeon Forge to beat Bradley in another thread. I just dont see what jusitfication Bradley has for their rankings. It looks like to me they are very very down by their standards and Cleveland is the new big kid on the block.
  5. semis: Pope vs Father Ryan Cbhs vs Cleveland finals Cbhs vs Pope
  6. Stevens, Russo, Richmond, Turbo, Hunt, Alexander, henry all wrestled. Other than Deckelman were there others sitting out? With the Langfords out for Walker Valley.
  7. Top 10 wrestlers regardless of grade. 1. Caleb Baker 2. Tate Robinson - When will they decide his eligibilty? 3. Amos Moses- Obviously not as technical as some others but can not be touched 4. Mark Marchetti 5. Elijah Oliver 6. Barrett Walthall 7. Austin Stevension 8. Jacob Stevens 9. Turbo Smith 10. Aaron Lopez
  8. Im going out on a limb here and picking Pigeon Forge over Bradley by 6.
  9. Im going to say both the matches will be closer than most expect. I say both of Bradleys matches will be within 10 pts and an upset wouldnt shock me.
  10. Wow, that has to be the toughest tournament in the state without a doubt. Heck that is tougher than the state champiosnhips.
  11. I would think they would have voted when they decided to make the small school classification. The season is right around the corner. Does anyone know when they will have the vote for transfers?
  12. "We can form a single united body, while the enemy must split up into fractions. Hence there will be a whole pitted against separate parts of a whole, which means that we shall be many to the enemy's few. From Sun Tzu's "The Art of War" Exactly, We are no longer a united body bororef. Yes, other sports have divisions but we are not other sports. This is wrestling, the oldest and most demanding sport in the world. This is the sport that used to create warriors. I for one want wrestling to be nothing like cross country, bowling, tennis, golf or any other sport. That was what was so special about wrestling. It would be different if we had ,80,90,100 schools really trying to compete and be succesful but we dont. The small school division only has a handful of teams that make the sacrifice and put in the work of their larger counterparts. Why couldnt the tournament be all together and keep seperate team standings? Wouldnt that make it fair for everyone and let the kids all wrestle each other?
  13. Also, ohio actually breaks it down by schools that are truly small. below is their classification system. div I- 400 or more div ii- 217-299 div iii- 216 and less
  14. Tennessee has 150 wrestling schools? Really? just because they list wrestling doesnt mean they actually participate and more importantly participate with any seriousness. Ohio has 506 schools with wrestling and I gurantee you they have more than our 30-40 that are even half way serious.
  15. The funny thing is they turn around and compare us to states like Ohio and other wrestling powerhouses. We are Tennessee, we have barley over 100 schools that wrestle and less than 1/3 of those care anything about wrestling. Are the coaches suddenly going to care now? Are administrators suddenly going to care more about our sport now? Wrestling is about passion and working hard and if you didnt do it before you arent going to start now because there is a small classification. Our state will be a joke for many many years to come. But hey, now at least the largest of the small schools can say they are state champions. we didnt solve any problems, we just allowed schools like Hixson, Central, Pigeon Forge to now have a shot because they have a few less kids than the large division. If you are going to create a small school at least make it for truly small schools like 500 or less students.
  16. he makes my head hurt sometimes trying to decipher his ramblings. Might Cupcake and Sommers be one and the same?
  17. It was my understanding from some insiders that he would be fine with time. I dont think he ripped his shoulder out or tore anything, atleast that was the way they explained it to me.
  18. When does the Tssaa meet for these kind of things? The season is right around the corner. Surely they decide before the seasons start?
  19. Is he that big now? I dont see him starting at 138 or 145 with their lineup unless brunner drops to 132 but I cant see Holloway being bigger then Brunner. Maybe Im just picturing him as a 106 lber still.
  20. Excellent post Humour wrestling!! This is a sad day for Tennessee wrestling. Wrestling as we know it has just ended starting next year. Will this pay off in the long run? Maybe in 20 years it might be a little better but I dont forsee much change in the immediate future. Tennessee wrestling isnt strong enough to have split divisions. Now what will happen is that small schools that have sucess will stop wrestling schools from the larger classification altogether to preserve their new found success. A few years back a friend of mines son wrestled for a georgia state championship team from one of the lower divisions and I heard about was how good they were. Well, my oldest sons team wrestled them and we beat them by 40+ points and we werent even in the top 4 in Tn that year. Being a state champion or state championship team meant something in Tn, now not it wont quite so much. Ive seen many people make the suggestion of just having the tournament all together and keep seperate team points for large and small and award team championships to both large and small but have all the kids wrestle together. Was this ever even brought up as an alternative? Seems this would have been fair to everyone.
  21. Is this an open tournament for any Jv kid or does the school have to come? What is a folder system exactly?
  22. If thats the case then thats ridiculous! Those kids should be allowed to wrestle at the nearest school with wrestling. In fact I thought that was the rule already in place?
  23. Not quite the facts the way I understand them. I dont think he just up and transfered to Baylor. In fact he left cbhs and moved to another state and enrolled in school there. So in reality he is transferring from that school and not Cbhs. Now since he last wrestled for Cbhs Im sure there are eligibility concerns but I dont think its accurate to portray this like he decided he liked Baylor better or that Baylor swayed him to come there. He left Cbhs well before that is the way it was explained to me.
