  1. CAK fan...child in elementary school....~high school football fan.
  2. Good game by the Warriors and as pointed out, a much needed confidence builder and we saw some stellar play from the kids that got in the game in the second half. It's true, at the end of the game, CAK could have and maybe even should have won against Powell and Catholic, but with that said, it looks like poor play from those two teams gave us the chance to even be in it in the first place. From what I've seen so far, CAK still looks like they could be a player come playoff time as long as they continue to improve and minimize mistakes from the coaching staff on down. We definitely have a couple of must wins on our schedule (Scott was one), but if we do, we may squeak into the playoffs, and hopefully by then, we'd have built up enough confidence and experience to make some noise. It's just my two cents and probably worth less than most people's two cents:) Go Warriors, keep making us proud:)
  3. Any score updates on this one?
  4. 14-0 CAK....Start of second quarter.
  5. fyi.....not sure if someone already posted this but the 4 to 6 combo has been sidelined for a while....I was told by a team captain's parent that 6 got an injury last week in practice.
  6. The Warrior Network.....OT starting now: http://www.nfhsnetwork.com/events/63311 14-14...CAK just missed a ~30yrd field goal to win.
  7. I'll be there and hope to see CAK by a.......... 'Hail Mary'
  8. Gratz to Powell....exciting game (albeit a bit sloppy), proud of the Warriors. After being down by 3 TD's, came back to tie it and went for two at end of the game for the win but caught it just barely out of bounds. Powell 42 CAK 41
  9. By the sounds of it, I'd say we all need to get there early. Seems like the size of Powell's band combined with the size of their team is going to match our entire HS enrollment.
  10. Thanks for the good reading all! Watched Powell on tv against Fulton last week. Good luck and I hope you/they have a great turn out. I hope it's a great game. Burgers are great! Go Warriors! JUST WIN!!! ...I mean....I just hope it's a good game;)
  11. Thank you....with our schedule and inexperience, the wins might be few and far between this year:( I'm surprised to hear you guys are starting out 0 and 1, but I'll be even more surprised if I don't hear of your guys 'bringing the wood!' come playoff time:)
  12. Big Poppy!!!...good luck this season:) CAK 35 FRA 10.....FRA just scored. 1:39 left, CAK's ball. edit...now final score.
  13. Live feed: http://www.nfhsnetwork.com/events/63309
  14. As usual, thanks to all for the informative read! If everything goes as anticipated this year, this will be the only game I miss in person:) With that said, does anyone know if this game is being carried on the internet via radio, live feed or otherwise (regular radio, tv or satellite)? Oh, and .....GOOooooo WARRIORSSsss! lol
  15. #5 or imho, even a top 10 seems a bit ambitious for CAK this year given they've lost so much to graduation in conjunction with a super tough schedule but hey, either way I'll be there and thanks for the props to this year's team:) Go Warriors!!!!
  16. I'd say she was a sophomore. Last night's starters were announced as 4 sophomores and 1 freshman.
  17. I've read the posts in this thread, but I still don't understand the story behind these two girls. How did they end up back at CAK and why did they leave? (or just Hammaker leave?). It seems Hammaker was there in middle school and played while in 8th grade, for some unknown reason left to a WV school, won a state championship, then got "recruited" back to CAK where she already presumably spent 8-10 years already? Did these two girls know each other and play on the same team in WV? Aren't there better programs around that Cheyenne could have went to other than a fledgling CAK squad with almost no history in the sport at all? Doesn't really make sense this would be the place to go if her dream is college ball on a top D1 girls basketball scholarship?...and I know student athletes don't generally seek out the most rigorous academic course loads they can find....so the 'recruiting' angle makes zero sense to me, but I would like to know the known facts behind the story of what happened. Does seem rather fortunate we got both players at the same time and they looked awesome last night. Thanks in advance.
  18. I can't believe you had to explain that.
  19. I prefer to call him Clark Kent vs Golden Boy.....at least by day.
  20. I wouldn't say "anywhere near it". I see any of those other teams listed 3-5 getting beat by Alcoa and CAK.....and 5A Lenoir City for that matter. Add three losses to those teams records and all of a sudden they don't look that far ahead.
  21. Charlie High is a character guy from what I can tell. Mature beyond his years. I don't know him or his family personally, but I can agree with all the positives that have been said about this young man. I strongly believe he's a great person that will do any program proud. What he lacks in prototypical size, he more than makes up for in all other categories.
