  1. I think that Hunters Lane and Antioch can give Whites Creek some serious competition come District Tournament time. FHS just played McGavock. I don't see them in the mix. But like you said, there is a lot of regular season playleft.
  2. It will be interesting to see how Keith plays coming off of knee surgery. I've had my knee crack like a walnut coming down from a rebound. (meniscus surgery followed shortly thereafter) Will he crash the boards or cruise the perimeter the first few weeks back? The last thing he wants is to tear a ligament or cartilage again. If he does, he'll need a lot more than a 19+ on the ACT to play @ Kentucky.(or maybe even MTSU)
  3. Perhaps Siegel's luck will run out this Tuesday (Franklin HS @ Siegel) Two undefeated teams from different Districts. I hope it's a great game. But please, no OT or Buzzer Beaters!
  4. I knew that 2-3 of the W.C. starters were out. We also had a few players still in Football (not any more- sniff) and another player with a 1 game suspension. Again, we'll all know a lot more by 12/20. Best of luck in your District as well. Hopefully, we'll get a re-match with W.C. in the regionals.
  5. I believe Franklin HS might be in that top 5 mix. We beat Whites Creek in a scrimmage last week 75 to 57 and Beech in similar fashion a week ago. We'll know a lot more after Christmas break. In November, we have away games at BGA, Columbia & Hillwood. Then a few more tough games in December including ones at Siegel & Centennial.
  6. Franklin High should be in the mix. They've beat Beech "and" White's Creek in the last week by 15+ points, each.(scrimmages) We'll know a lot more by Christmas Break as FHS has a tough road schedule in Nov. & Dec. including a 12/18 game @ Siegel. As others have said, the "proof of the pudding" is on the court.
  7. I believe it will come down to one key turnover being the difference in the game. Should definitely be more points than that first battle. But I gotta go with my Rebels winning it by 3.
  8. Gomab, I sent an e-mail to you at your yahoo address about this Showcase. Would appreciate a reply. Thanks, Chris
  9. Please register: Ryan Pamplin, Junior, 6'6", Forward. I'll see if others from Franklin High are interested & will bring them with me.
  10. They are evidently as deep & strong as I had heard. Looks like Brandon Springer had a super fourth quarter, scoring 14 of his 22 points then. However, Hillsboro going 6 of 23 from the field in the 4th is very uncharesteristic. More than likely, Franklin or Hillsboro will run into Hunters Lane in the Region Tournament. It will be interesting to see who might get em first. Unfortunately, one of those 3 will not be making it to the State. I predict Hillsboro.
  11. The wrestling team won the State duals in dramatic fashion. They needed a pin in the final match and got it to beat Bradley Central 33 to 32. Perhaps we will get to play Bradley in hoops @ Murfreesboro. The "Year of the Rebels" continues!!! GO REBELS!!! thumb
  12. Franklin has several Juniors and a Senior, Jeff Barnes, that seen to be below the radar screen. The Juniors were 22 and 1 as Freshman and undefeated the next year at JV with several getting considerable varsity playing time as Sophmores. This year, Franklin High is pretty strong, having just lost one game. Jeff is averaging close to 20 points per game. FHS beat Giles County 80 to 64 in a scrimmage just before the season started. It was a total team win. Tyler Smith is very strong but he couldn't beat 6 guards shooting 3's and 3 strong post players. Hopefully, you'll get to see us in Murfreesboro.
