  1. Caleb beats a full strength Eason. Even not at full strength Corday beats both.
  2. The Harpers live in Chattonooga now too. They moved a couple of years ago.
  3. The opc track record for both Mason and Joey doesn’t show this match. It shows all of the other matches they wrestled this season except this one so I missed this one head to head match. But, after reviewing this match and looking over all of the matches my top 4 at 160, I’m still going to keep with my current top 4 as is. If I ranked to 5, then Joey would be number 5. And, there is very little difference between all 5 of them as this is by far the most competitive weight across all 3 divisions this year. You can make a case for all 5 being ranked number 1 at this weight. Joey’s recent loss to Brady Jarvis who was just majored by Aiden Benoit and the fact he really has no other significant wins out outside of this single win over Mason or a body of work outside the TSSAA season puts him in 5th place on my list. . Both Mason and Colby have nationally ranked wins and Mason placed at Grappler and Colby placed at Knockout so that is why I have those two ranked One and Two. Colby was the clear number one until his loss to Mason on Saturday. Unfortunately for Joey he has to wrestle Colby just to get to the state finals. I will not be surprised if the winner of that match ends up winning state.

    Top 5 P4P

Howard wrestled today so he is my number 2 behind Hunter Mason. Corday is out because of his surgery and will be returning soon. He has an incredible resume of big quality wins so that’s why he is still ranked nationally. Chittum competed in Scuffle but he also won Super 32. 1. Hunter Mason - Va Tech 2. James Howard 3. David Harper - Wyoming 4. Colin Dupill 5. Kv Roller - Virginia 6. Gabe Fisher 7. Gunner Garriques Chicago 8. Ashton Davis -Cornell 9. Nic Corday - Army

    Top 5 P4P

Uh Harper is ranked #15 by Flo and #12 by Willie at 195. If we are just talking HS kids in TN, and we leave Chittum off since he isn’t wrestling anymore HS then list should be 1. Hunter Mason - Va Tech 2. David Harper - Wyoming 3. Colin Dupill 4. Kv Roller - Virginia 5. Gabe Fisher 6. Ashton Davis -Cornell 7. Nic Corday - Army James Howard would be top 3 but I’m not sure he is wrestling anymore.
  6. No, he made the US pan Am games and he went to Columbia with Team USA instead.
  7. Wow, there is a lot of talent at 26. All 4 of those kids are good enough to win 20, 26, and 32 as they are now if they spread out. Both Roark and Tate Williams need to drop to 20. If they do i would think they will meet in the finals. One of them could jump to 32, but, I would expect Conner Payne to drop to 32 and if he does he will be almost impossible to beat. A Roller v Bond rematch in the final at 26 will be electric. The other weight that is jam packed is 160. Be interesting if they spread out or not. My guess is Bates drops to 52 and we have a Bates v McGehee final at 52 and then we have Dalon and Alley final at 60.
  8. Cody is the Pan American Champ - he is bringing Gold home to Tennessee. Cody is the only member of Team USA to make the Finals - Cody went 5-0 with score of 41-0….
  9. Tn’s Cody Chittum was the only member of Team USA to make the finals. he wrestles in 15 minutes at 4:30 est if you want to watch here the link. It’s free but you have to register. https://www.panamsports.org/sport-events/cali-2021-junior-panam-american-games/
  10. As far as I can look back over the past decade, here in TN we have averaged putting about 5 kids a year into D1. Last year we had 14 and so far this year we already have 7 commuted or signed with a bunch more to come. I would expect at least 14 if not more this year especially if Chittum reclassifies. Pretty impressive growth trend here in TN.

  12. Like i said, it doesn’t really matter. And kV dad just reminded me that I left Corday off too. I’m going to redo this list and clean it up tonight.
  13. It doesn’t really matter which class we put Trae in. I just changed his class for accuracy. The main point of the post is the sheer number TN kids from last year and this years classes that will wrestle D1. USMAPs, Naps and the Air Forces prep school are the Academies way of adding in a ‘redshirt year’ for some of their kids, but it’s not actually a redshirt year but a 13th year of HS. It’s honestly is a pretty sweet deal, they get a great room, great coaching and they run a schedule that is almost identical to all the college Redshirts but unlike the college redshirts they get everything paid for. But, it’s still a post Graduate Prep School 13th year as these kids are still in HS and not College, so their college eligibility clock has not started yet. McCallie started offering Post Graduate 13th year option this year so anyone in TN that’s wants that 13th year can go there and go do college opens on their own and do National Prep without that extra year starting their NCAA Eligibility clock. John Martin Best went to Air Force Prep last year, did a full college open wrestling season and decided to turn down his commission and enrolled at Maryland where he is a true Freshman now with his full eligibility left including a redshirt year. So that’s why Trae is now part of the class of 22 instead of 21.
  14. updated with KV and Hunter.. Class of 21 TN had 13 D1 guys, so far Class of 22, we already have 7 that I’ve seen commit or sign already. If I’ve missed anyone let me know. This has to be one of the riches 2 year periods in TN history. Plus Chittum may end up in this class too and so far UTC doesn’t have any TN guys on the board but I would expect that they will bring in several. High School Wrestling in TN is definitely on an upswing! Signed: Garrison Dendy - Baylor - Wyoming David Harper - Baylor - Wyoming Kodiak Cannedy - Greeneville- ARK Little Rock Trae McDaniel- Cleveland (currently at West Point Prep) - West Point Keyveon Roller - Lakeway Christian - UVA Committed: Ashton Davis - Cleveland- Cornell Garrett Foreman - Pigeon Forge - Ark Little Rock
  15. Again, total Brain fart on my part..
  16. Good lord I can’t believe I left him off. I will update.

  18. I would agree, Palmer and Castillo looked the best. Two new wrestlers to UTC that are very good wrestlers.
  19. I mean let’s have some fun and get this board alive again. And, no Josh I wasn’t messing with you at all…. Now my friends at Baylor
  20. There is many ways to judge the success of a high school sports program, and personally I think the best way is by looking at how many kids they can develop and inspire to continue participating at the D1 level. Current TN D1 Wrestlers 6 McCallie 4 Christian Brothers 3 Cleveland 2 Baylor 2 Beech 2 Brentwood Academy 2 Dobyns Bennett 2 Signal Mountain 1 Blackman 1 Notre Dame 1 Riverdale 1 Science Hill 1 Soddy Daisey 1 Whitwell 15 D2 11 AAA – big school 3 AA – Small School
  21. Yeah I think most of these weights are iffy. I just went by what the schools website listed them at.
  22. Here is all of the D1 wrestlers from Tennessee on the official D1 roster for this season. I think 30 maybe TN most ever D1 wrestlers. Garrett Bowers - Air Force – Christian Brothers - 141p Brendon Watkins – Campbell - Dobyns Bennett - 141p Kevin Muschel – Campbell – Signal Mountain - 174p Trey Bates – Central Michigan – Beech – 125p Jackson Bradford – Citadel – Cleveland – 125p Grant Speer– Citadel – Notre Dame - 157p Andrew Pace – Harvard – Baylor – 149p Alex Whitworth – Harvard - McCallie - 174p Brock Herring – Lehigh – McCallie – 141p Brooks Sacharczyk- Little Rock - Blackman - 197p Emory Taylor – Pitt – McCallie - 157p Airin Spell – Presbyterian College – Brentwood Academy - 285p Logan Spell – Presbyterian College – Brentwood Academy Nick Boykin – Ohio State – Riverdale – 285p Mason Reinche -- Oregon St – Baylor - 174p Judah Duhm – Stanford – McCallie - 184p Chase Diehl – SIUE – Science Hill -165p Bryce Barton – UTC – Whitwell - 133p Dayne Dalrymple – UTC – Christian Brothers - 141p Jackson Hurst - UTC - Dobyns Bennett - 157p Colton Landers – UTC – Cleveland - 141p Landon Lewis – UTC- Soddy Daisy - 174p Grant Lundy – UTC – Cleveland - 149p Drew Nicolson - UTC – Christian Brothers - 165p Brayden Palmer – UTC – Beech - 133p Tom Sell – UTC – McCallie - 174p Grayson Whathall - UTC – Christian Brothers - 285p Gavin Cagle – Virginia – McCallie 165p Cooper Flynn - Virginia Tech - McDonogh,MD - 125p Daniel Uhrochuck - West Point – Signal Mountain - 125p
  23. 106 Cooper Hilton 7th 145 Cody Chittum 1st 220 Gunnar Garriques 6th Champ and 2 placers
  24. Cody is a Senior, will be graduating after this semester and he will be at Minnesota next year. Super32 was the last HS tournament he will ever wrestle. Cody will only be wrestling college tournaments moving forward. Next up is the Hokie Open.
