  1. I don't give myself credit, I just don't give you any. How much rent do I owe you for permanent occupancy in your cranium? I do have one friend who knows who you are, GM. I must take back what I said about it being a good thing that you're not a teacher. You're really about to graduate from Wesleyan to be a teacher, and yet you can't even structure a meaningful sentence without molesting basic English taught in elementary school? If it weren't so sad this would be funny. I talked to coach Morgan about assisting him, but he said I was too honest and had already blown his cover. He said he preferred someone like you who would bow down to him and continue kissing his backside as you praised him as being "The Legend".
  2. But it does make a difference to you or you wouldn't keep responding. Bless your heart, I'm into your head and have taken you to school a few times so you're struggling to reply with something valid. The positives of the program were the years Joe Young was there coaching. Plenty of talent supplied by McMinn Fire to win several gold balls if Johnny had only left the game coaching to Joe in Murfreesboro. Sad that "The Legend" (insert sarcasm here) never understood that the program wasn't about him. Since you're getting thin-skinned about your misspellings and grammar abuse I'm going to ease up on you about that. I'm just thankful that you're not a teacher! One of my friends on here thinks you're Johnny himself. From your continual praise about him I can see why they believe that.
  3. Where do come up with the idea I hate the program? Just because I don't agree with you? Come on bballer1, you can do better than that. I don't even hate Johnny Morgan. Just because I've pointed out facts doesn't make me a hater. Joe Young WAS the program as I pointed out to you before. Johnny was only a good coach before Joe got there to teach him. The program's state tournament appearances started AFTER Joe arrived. Their winning increased by about 25% AFTER Joe arrived. That's not a coincidence, and to not give full credit to Joe Young for the success of the program and the gold ball is ignorant. Everyone knows that. ps: I wasn't going to say anything, but you need to work on your spelling, grammar and fragmented sentences.
  4. If she is going to learn from the Hall of Fame coach then she will join Tennessee Wesleyan's staff where Joe Young will be. Note of clarification: Being considered a powerhouse constitutes winning more than one gold ball.
  5. The question remains who will Johnny Morgan hire as his assistant? According to those close to the situation, Johnny wants to hire a proven head coach who can take over the practices and actually be the head coach like Joe Young was. Johnny's record was very average before Joe Young came along so it's pretty well known that Johnny can't be successful unless he has someone who can do all these things. Alcoa head coach Tonya Gay is leading the rumor list so the booster club will probably have to kick in some major $$ in order to get her. Even if Jonny can't get her or someone who can run the program, he will step down from coaching within a couple years.
  6. Has Myers recovered from surgery? The best incoming freshman (from Monroe County) for Central won't play any next year. One of the other incoming freshman you are counting on seems to have changed her mind since Joe Young won't be there.
  7. Joe coached at a county elementary school until a few years ago. What is important is how this will affect McMinn Central girls basketball. All the non-local girls playing for Central came there BECAUSE of Joe Young, not Johnny Morgan. Morgan's season winning went up about 20% after Joe Young started helping him. That isn't a coincidence since it's well known that Joe is the brains and the heartbeat of the program. Morgan has enough young talent now to make it to substate the next couple of years, but his feeder system of the out of area talent may start drying up when Joe isn't there. I predict Morgan will resign after 2014 or 2015.
  8. If "Miss Basketball" had hit half of her free throws or played defense the last few seconds of the game, the Chargerettes would have won. You own scoreboard showed who the real winner was and they were the team that played in Murfreesboro.
  9. She won it on regular season performance in a weak district and region with below par shooting percentages from the field and free throw line. Anyone shooting as much as she did would have inflated numbers like her but she didn't even lead the district in scoring. You ever wonder why she didn't get any offers other than the small schools?
  10. You have no idea what it's like being around Central fans after they lose a game. It's ALWAYS the referees fault, never that they got outplayed and outcoached. One of the mothers of a Chargerette said they always have to play against 8 (meaning 5 girls and 3 refs) but the stats show the Chargerettes had a lot more free throws than their opponent! And now the blame game has rubbed off on the boys! Since both the girls and boys got beat these fans and parents are consumed in their whining and pouting, sending letters and pictures to tv stations, the TSSAA, and even to ESPN!!! It's a sad world they live in when their lives are controlled by what a bunch of teenagers do in sports. I just laugh at them and their misery.
  11. They're still pouting and blaming the refs for them losing both games. Boy's coach Armstrong said "The difference in the game was that Livinston was able to go to the free throw line 37 times and we only went 20 times." The Chargerette girls fans and parents are sending videos to every tv station, TSSAA, Governor and Supreme Court. They're even making shirts declaring the Chargerettes the REAL winner. What a sad life it must be when their life is controlled by a group of high school girls.
  12. All the whining and moaning by Central fans about a referee conspiracy doesn't hold water since Central got to shoot twice as many free throws than Cannon did. Central was in the double bonus in the 4th quarter yet Cannon wasn't even in the bonus! Central blew the advantages given to them with free throws, and 'Miss Basketball' stood there like a statue 15 feet away as Jakes jacked up the NBA three pointer.
  13. In my opinion It wasn't disrespectful at all. Central has taken far more talented teams to the 'boro and not won. Ashley Knox wasn't a starter and I don't remember Young or Raper starting either, but I could be wrong about one of the latter two.
  14. It's "no" wonder, not know wonder. I don't have a problem accepting that the refs did the best they could, even the trailing one trying to look at both the shooter and the clock. Where you and others have a problem is in not understanding how they could have missed a shot that was launched a tenth of a second after the clock hit 0:0. Some of you said the refs blew it, or missed something so obvious. I say it was obvious to you because you've had time to look at the video frame-by-frame from the comforts of your home. Did the refs have any of those luxuries? Yet many of you are still blaming them? Unreal! These same refs that you all complain about are the same ones who put Central in the bonus and double bonus and gave Central twice the amount of freethrows than Cannon got, so there goes the conspircacy theory. I'm not from CC, but what does that have to do someone not knowing a referee's job? Are you trying to say that only a Central fans know what a ref's job is? I think that's part of the problem with Central fans, they think they know it all. I must better than you knowing their job since you think the refs should have been able to determine the shot was a tenth of a second late. The boy's game: Has it occurred to you Central folks that the Chargers were behind by double digits in the 4th period and were intentionally fouling the last few minutes, which added a lot to their foul count? Looks like coach Armstrong hasn't figured that out either. Must be something in the Etowah water that causes blame to go to others. Laughable, yet sad.
  15. It's not illegal, but it is a huge advantage. I wasn't saying Joe or the Fire were doing anything improper, I was saying that not all girls at Central were local girls like someone mentioned. Central had at least three girls on their roster this season from other places, and will have even more next year.
  16. To do it the way you're describing the ref would have had to lay on the floor and have the shooter's fingertips in the line of sight with the scoreboard......about where a chameleon would be. Obviously that won't happen because it can't happen, so the refs did the best they could with what they saw in real time. It's just too hard for you all to accept that? TWO refs said the shot was good, and apparently the third one conceded to their call without discussion. Oh yeah, I noticed the blame the ref disease has carried over to the boy's coach.
  17. So you think the trailing official should be a chameleon? How else can he focus on a girl's fingertips at 5 feet high in front of him and also on a scoreboard mounted on a wall 25 feet high? Contested or uncontested, you can't watch both and be perfect to a tenth of a second. At least two out of the three reafs called it good in their best judgement.
  18. Central girls assistant coach Joe Young coaches the 8th grade Fire team and is very involved with - if not coaching the 7th graders many times. I know for a fact he encourages certain girls on the Fire team from other areas to consider staying together and coming to Central. Just watch and see how many girls from the current 8th grade Fire team comes to Central that would have normally gone elsewhere - at least 3. There's nothing illegal about this as far as I know, but it's recruiting in a sense.
  19. The video I saw was 4 seconds long, so she could have only been trapped for 2.2 seconds. Total time elapsed from the moment Sissom touched the ball until it left Jakes fingertips was 6.2.1 seconds if you want to get technical. If "Miss Basketball" had played defense instead of standing there watching, Central would probably be in Murfreesboro instead of Cannon County.
  20. Is a referee supposed to have independent eyes like a chameleon where he can focus one on the girl's hands and the other on the clock?
  21. It's bad enough to live over here and listen to the McMinn Central fans still whining about their girls team losing to Cannon County Saturday night, but now the Central boy's coach is whining about LA shooting 37 freethrows comapred to Central's 20. Any time Central loses a game it's the ref's fault!
