OR does have a proud history and played for a state title only two short years ago. I hope we can find a good coach who will stay here for a while. The players need some stability and our fan base does too. OR football is appreciated and respected all across the state and a poor season two years ago and a coaching change this year won't impact that one bit.

Does he talk to you about this kind of stuff and if not, who does he talk to? Do you know where he's leaning? Do you know who the top candidates are?

I said this earlier and I'll say it again...while I don't expect to get a real answer, If "Joe" is at West tonight, I'll track him down and ask him who the frontrunner is, who has applied, who will be interviewed, when interviews begin, when a hire will be made, and who's on the committee. I doubt I'll get a single answer to any of those questions, but you never know unless you ask!

My guess is that all of us "know it alls" know just about as much as I do...which is absolutely nothing!!! LOL...I'm just the only person willing to admit it! Do any of us really think that "Joe" (do any of us really know him on a first name basis?) is sharing his thoughts with anyone or that he is making this hire all by himself? I'm very interested to see who they hire and if "Joe" is at the game at West tonight, I'm going to just come out and ask him who who he's looking at...and if he gives me an answer, I'll be shocked! I'll let you all know tomorrow what he says, if he's there.

We agree...I just think OR had more "good players and talented athletes" than most teams we played. Our deficiencies were in the area of linemen, but I thought we improved there...but not enough.

OR under performed. What team had talent in numbers like OR did? I can't think of anyone that I saw in person or on TV. OR had #1,#3, #7, #13, #17, #22,...and they could all fly and all are GREAT athletes. They also had #33...who is a GREAT linebacker. They also had two very tall and athletic outside linebackers in #19 and #20, and a kicker/punter #54 who was very good at both. The OL was fair and the DL was good. They were athletic in the secondary...What part of my post is wrong?

First of all, I want West to win, represent our region, as well as East TN...and while I don't know their coach, he seems like a good guy. Now...I must say i was underwhelmed by what I saw of West vs Powell. Powell outplayed West all night long except for two plays...the 99 yard pick six and the punt return. West may have peaked a bit early, as we all know they beat Alcoa and Maryville. The West QB is no threat at all and while he might be a very good game manager, the defense won't have to really account for him. I know nothing about Page, but if they're a real good team, I expect them to win, unless West plays a lot better than they did against Powell.

With the talent we had, I expected to go 10-0 or 9-1...I was wrong. But I'm not wrong about my earlier post on this thread. Read back over it and tell me what you disagree with. The region OR is in is weak...region 4 is weak...Powell and West will take a step or two back...22 and 13 might be the two best players in the region...OR has returning linemen and a very good young QB along with an experienced QB. What do you disagree with? We might not win the championship game, but I expect to be there.......

OR will reload and make it the championship game. The region is a joke, and the playoffs will put us automatically in the semis, and with Powell and West taking a step back...OR in the finals is more than a real possibility...and we don't have to be real good to get there. I'm not saying we'll win it, but I'm saying I'll be disappointed if we don't get there. Who will have a better RB than 22? Who will have a better WR than 13? We have several linemen returning and experience at QB or a young QB who will be good...take your pick!

I'm pretty sure after 10 games, we were 5-5, so what's your point? I'm glad we are in round three, it sure beats the alternative, but we've had a very easy road to round three. Let's beat Powell...that will be a big win!

I'm not sure that I agree with you at all about playing two QBs. I can't think of any team that does that and I'm not sure why we would even consider it

I agree that we are doing something right but until we beat a good team in the playoffs, I wouldn't get too carried away with that final 8 stuff. Rhea County was 2-8 and not good at all, and although McMinn was 8-2, they were an absolutely awful offensive team that we just beat by a point. If we beat Powell, who is good but nothing like last year, I'll feel better about this team. The fact is, that we haven't beaten a good team all year but I hope that changes tomorrow night.! RWR!!!

OR in the upset! Powell recently barely beat Lenoir City and OR was missing 34 starters when we lost to Powell earlier in the season. In all seriousness, I wouldn't put too much stock in the OR one point win over an average McMinn County team, nor would I read too much into a Powell massacre over a weak Walker Valley team. OR wins this game 28 - 21 and will host West next Friday night! RWR!!!

McMinn County might be the worst offensive team I've seen in a long time. They had a four yard drive for a TD and unless we give them the ball inside our five yard line, they can't score. We will win as soon as we score once

McMinn doesn't have any advantage at all other than home field. It would be shocking if OR loses this game.

That won't take much because it will be the weakest region in the entire southeast. I hope Cummings gets a tough non district schedule because the district is a joke.

I believe that OR will beat Powell this time around if we get by McMinn...however West is another story.

Listen man, I'm excited that OR won and will advance but this injury thing and now sickness thing is getting a little old. Nobody missed the game due to sickness. I checked the starting lineup and it was normal. Let's try to have one game this year where this OR team doesn't start out with a built in "woe is me" excuse. Let's just go play football and win and not focus on injuries or sickness. This focus on ready made excuses every week isn't very Oak Ridge like
