  1. Well I guess I am guilty of going by what I've heard and the few times I saw Maryville on tv. But it seems like every year that Maryville has a QB graduate Coach Quarles and Coach Hunt have the young bucks ready.
  2. Koons and Jackson were special players and it will be hard to fill their roles on the D-Line but I'm sure Gaylor and crew will coach up the young Rebels to step in to that great Maryville defense. And as far as QB goes, the young sophomore stepped in for Vaught and took the Rebels all the way to a State Championship. I heard remarkable things about the Hopkins kid as well. I think Coach Hunt is set at QB for several seasons to come.
  3. You call Rhea Co mediocre? They finished 13-1! Rofl
  4. George Quarles is the only guy that can win with a predominantly white team on a consistent basis. Just the facts.
  5. The talent at WB just isn't up to par to what he is accustomed to having. The talent he's used to having is on another level.
  6. Those few extra hundred students and good athletes can't compare with the caliber of athletes Shadowens is use to coaching in Murfreesboro.
  7. I seriously doubt he goes to WB. The demographics are not in his favor and as long as George is in Maryville he will never have a chance.
  8. Just continue to do what got us here. Good defense and special teams along with a fairly good offense. We still have a lot of work to do in the run game, but I have heard some rumblings that their may be some changes in the OL. Not any major changes, but another guy may step in for another. Just going by what I have heard from some people closely associated with the team. I think we have more things up our sleeve that we didn't show during the year. I guess we will see what those things are as the playoffs progress. Owls and Rhea County are tough. Both will be tough games if OR has to play them. No games from here on forward will be easy. Everyone is fighting for their playoff lives so to say. About Maryville. It bothers me and it doesn't. I would like to see how we would stack up against the best the state has to offer even though we would probably lose that game. It bothers me to a point that OR is no longer at the highest classification of TN HS football, no doubt. But, we are where we belong numbers wise. Maryville just has something we don't right now and we're not alone there they have what everyone else doesn't have. Although they should be in 5A with the classes coming out next year they have the resources to where they can move up. I would like for us to play up, but on the other hand I guess it isn't fair to the kids. Does it bother me that if we do win a state championship we would have not had to go through them to get it? No, not really. That gold ball will be just as pretty as theirs if that happens. We have just over 1300 students. We aren't the OR of old anymore with 1600 + kids. We're playing where we belong. If Maryville had of chosen to stay in 5A next year we weren't going anywhere and would've been playing them, but they chose to go up. They have what it takes to do that, we don't at this point in time.
  9. Alcoa struggled with Heritage. Maryville struggled with HVA, Fulton struggled with Carter of all teams. Just never know how things may pan out. Different matchups produce different results.
  10. TJ was either at AE or West at one time, but he went to Jefferson Middle School for a bit.
  11. Guess not. And you have been known to stir the pot a time or two, so nobody takes you very seriously anyways.
  12. Our K is from OR and we have no DB from Knoxville. None that started at least. The others would be correct. That's the benefit of having not only a good football program, but academics. They sell themselves. CC should try it sometime.
  13. Huh? Don't know where you got that info from, but it's dead wrong.
  14. LOL wont make much of a difference this game. Supposedly it isn't too bad. Just keeping him out for precautionary reasons sounds like.
  15. That should tell people a lot about him. He honestly doesn't even realize how good he could be and he has still dominated the games I have watched us play. QB's have been running for their lives when he is on the field. Our defense is so much better when he is in there and it's not even comparable.
