Want to say good luck to the district 3 teams in the region. Still trying to get over a very tough season for our Bears. They had a lot of adversity throughout the season and especially late last 6 games of season. Then having one of their better players in the hospital and getting out at 2pm on Friday Rockwood game in district tourney and not getting to play makes it even tougher also. Not going say they would have won but when you miss 26 pts and 11 boards(in 2 games this season against Rockwood) in a important game its hard to make up for that. But I would love to see any D3 teams get to the glass house. In my opinion Meigs and Grace have the best chance with Meigs having the best of the 2.

Never know about tonight's game could be a 20 point win by Meigs but could also be a loss by Meigs. Tellico struggling right now still not on same page with new coach. Starting very slow but playing better as game goes on. True Tellico returns 4 starters but with a new coach/system (incase no one is keeping count that it does take some time to come together and not a better time to do that than tonight!

He not as invested in program since the coach from last year left he went with him ...

Great win for The Tellico Bears last night. going to Meigs and winning is a tall order but winning by double digits is even taller. I was just hoping to come out of there with and 1 to 3 point win. Always has been a very hard place to win. Tellico has forced teams into bunches of TO's all year that has lead to the success they have had this year. Congrats to The Tellico Bears!!

Thanks TFL for the compliments. I also agree that the rebounding was a difference in the game. You are correct it will be a different team with the PG back. He is an exceptional player. I hate he is hurt right now and didn't get to pay last night. When will he return? Look forward to the next meeting between the teams. Go Bears....

Tellico (7-1) has gotten off to a slow start (new coach) winning but in very ugly fashion. But a win is a win and we will take them. Just taking some games for coach and players to get on same page. But looks to be working out so far. Time will tell. Tellico had a big early season win by beating Meigs last night 73-57.

I wouldn't say thrown in the towel. They just lost a lot from last year a good line (O&D) good RB & LB hurts them a lot. orngblk whoever keeps you up to date on the game with getting cramps from messaging you so much.

They maybe large but they are weak. Not as big nor near as strong as the line they had last year. Young and inexperienced. QB is probably the best athlete on the team. He is finally getting to play on the defense also.

Yes, he is a jr. this year. They really need a line.

From what I have heard Harriman is a different team that we have seen in the past couple years. Tellico is a different team from last years squad for sure. So far we have had difficulties (major) in running the ball. Tellico lost a lot off there line (O & D) from last year and it is very evident. Passing game is head and shoulders better than last year due to the return of a very athletic QB. If its a dry game I will say Tellico in a close scoring game but if its wet I will give say Harriman.

Meigs I think will be the team to beat. Lost only 1 from the State Runner up team from last year. Grace is Grace they just seem to reload every year. I know they lost some good players from last year. Tellico lost 3 to graduation but of the 3 only 1 started pretty much every game, 1 who started about half the games and was injured, 1 that played sparingly some games never seen the floor except for warm ups. Returning several jrs that have started or played since freshmen, a couple sr that have started and played some last year and a couple good freshman. Rockwood don't know much about them Harriman have heard rumors of some really good young player and a new one that moved in then heard he didn't. Midway lost some really good players not sure of what is coming in Greenback not much to say about them. Hope to see some very good games this year.....

predictions for district 3A and players to watch from the teams?

Just wondering if anyone has any thought/predictions for 3A basketball this year. What players for the district teams do we need to watch.

well to be honest Tellico will be getting back a really good player after missing most of last year for a nasty injury. He will make the offense a lot better. He was on his way to having a great season last year when he got injured. They lost a lot off both there line and really good D-ends. It want be a 2nd year slump because this is Coaches 3rd year. The season could end from 5-5 to 8-2. I just wasn't really feeling warm and fuzzy after there spring scrimmage.

who in your opinion will be Rockwoods 2 loses and Harrimans 4 loses to?

I agree the actions of the kid was wrong and maybe so the fans. he/ Coalfield should get a big time punishment. But by the looks of the video that was shown the umpire was at fault also. I think he should get a punishment by TSSAA also. Look at the way he is acting and his facial expressions as he acts like he trying to get at somebody. He is not in control of himself either. So what he is some kind of police for his day job who cares. At that moment in time he was in a umpire uniform. With that being said the kid/fans/coaches were wrong for what happened. Control your players.

Well I can tell you this much there is not a position open to hire a coach/teacher. So don't really matter who applies or how good they are...... I hate it when someone resigns a coaching position they were hired to coach but don't have to leave there teaching position also. That is why we get into the situation we are in now.

Not real sure of the chill response as Baucom. But he has 3 small children he wanted to spend more time with. He did step down with a lot of talent returning......

Congrats to Tellico's #54 Garrett Reno and #55 Bryce Carter on signing with Carson Newman University to continue there football careers and to get a great education.

Congrats to Lucas. Like to hear about fellow district players continuing there football careers and getting a quality education at the same time. Looks like there is a big possibility that 2 young men from Tellico Plains will join him at C-N University. 1 of them will sign as of 02-03-2014 and the other hasn't decided for sure. He has a few other options and is weighing them out. Big decision for him.

Which one is at CB? Would like to know how those games go. Keep us posted...
