  1. Good! We will take the advantage. Don’t care if you only played with five, we just want the GOLD BALL!
  2. Excited to see this 2A championship matchup! Do not know much about Trousdale Co. but like Peabody’s chances as they are a complete team. As we know football is a team sport and it takes more than one person to win a championship. Peabody has several players that could have possibly been nominated for Mr. Football but when you have a great TEAM not everybody is going to get all the stats that they need to get nominated. That is why I like Peabody’s chance to bring home the GOLD. If PEABODY will come out and raise their game another notch for four quarters I feel pretty confident the Gold ball comes to region 7 2A again.
  3. I understand the pound it style of offense as Union City and Milan and Dresden has shown it to the Tide this year but the Tide has gotten pounded by the defense not the offense pounding their defense as the final scores of the game have shown. Maybe the tides offensive play caller is eating popcorn in the booth and enjoying a pepsi product while he is trying to play his xbox instead of calling plays for the tide.
  4. Yes in the UC game fumbles did cost us inside the redzone but it also leads to the point I was making that maybe if the TIDE would have been multidimensional and throw the ball more maybe we get into the ENDZONE quicker and not rely on running so much which leads to fumbles. Of course you open yourself up to possible interceptions but it helps when you are not so predictable as when the TIDE had the ball on the 1-yard line and ran the ball 4 times in a row and did not score. If you are one-dimensional it certainly makes it easier to defend. Again as an observer of TIDE football it just seems that this year offensively what they are trying to do is not working against the top teams in their district. I just believe we have not seen the TIDE'S best capabilities offensively because it looks as if the play calling is not allowing them to succeed with the type of talent they have. I do not believe the Tide is a line up and run over you type of offense but more of a finesse throw and run. These players have been coached in a spread offense for five years and were successful when they were running it. As the saying goes "IF IT AIN'T BROKE THEN DON'T FIX IT"
  5. I am extremely perplexed with the GOLDEN TIDE! I understand that the TIDE lost 20+ seniors last year but a new and refreshed program was started 4 years ago and it seems that the TIDE is slipping back to the years prior. A lot of confidence has been built since 4 years ago when the TIDE seem to be playing and coaching to WIN GAMES. No the first 2 of those years did not have 20+ seniors each year but the TIDE played and were coached as a team that was not going to be denied a WIN. It seems as if the kids are not playing with that kind of confidence. As all high school players across the state these kids are and have been working hard offseason and in season but it seems as there is something missing. Yes they have lost 3 games and won 4 but the 4 wins were against teams they should beat but the 3 losses looks like the TIDE were way out of their league. I don't believe the TIDE has lost that much talent that they do not look like they can be competitive against Union City and Dresden. Yes both of those teams are good but the final score should be showing a lot more competitive effort from the TIDE than what has shown up. It is like the offensive play calling in the UC and Dresden game is to try and not get blown out instead of trying to score to win the ballgame. Now I know that the plan is not to concede the win but my gosh the offensive plan for these two games have been atrocious. Yes you can blow out the lower tier of the district or region with this kind of offensive planning but it does not bold well when facing the likes of UC or DRESDEN. Again not trying to take away anything from those two teams but come on, the TIDE offensive planning has got to re-evaluate itself or it will definitely be exiting the playoffs early. The defense is having to stay on the field way too much. When the offense is 3 plays and punt how can you expect the defense to hold up. Yes there are players playing both ways but how can they be competitive defensively but not offensively? This leads to the belief that the offensive planning needs to improve dramatically. Some coaches say well the players have to execute the play I call which is true but the Coach has to call the play that gives his players the best opportunity to be successful at executing the play. In other words if certain plays have shown not to work with the offensive group you have then why continue to try and execute those plays.
  6. What backs scored the td's for the golden tide and heard it come a pretty good down poor before the game? Maybe that had something to do with the drops? Our receivers are mainly sophomores and have only one way to go and that is straight up! They will continue to get better and will be the highlights of the season. We have a proven coach and everyone knows when you have that you can only get better.
