  1. By some you mean Beech High School, which is actually one Sumner County School. You just happened to go to the wrong lot.
  2. I'm surprised the NWS gives their opinion of who the weather favors in their reports. I'll have to pay more attention to that from now on.
  3. I think it should be a great game. The thing that worries me is that the boys may get a little cocky after a big road win Friday night which was arguably their best game all year. That being said, Gallatin hasn't lost at home all year and has this city behind them like I've never seen. If Gallatin can ground and pound like they have been they should be fine. If Northeast figures out how to stop the wave rushing attack early it could be a long night. I think Gallatin wins 28-20. I'm also nervous to see how the defense handles the speed of the Northeast offense that I've been hearing about.
  4. I generally read what others are saying and put in my two cents if necessary. Not much going on on that thread anyways.
  5. What true colors would those be? The Gallatin ones? I got on here to see what the talk was about the HC and Ridgeway game. I joined in on the discussion about the playoff scenario, and then we all got real excited about the whole thing.
  6. I think Henry County wins a high scoring game, 45-42.
  7. Not sensitive, in FACT I was just letting everyone know that I didn't disrespect what Henry County had done this year. I made up a hypothetical scenario that painted a picture of how the format could be made to seem fair. Stirring the pot you say? It looks like someone is getting angry that I put my two cents in. Excuse me for getting on a PUBLIC message board and stating my opinion. My team is Gallatin, and here come the "well no wonder you're saying this" or "what a homer posts." It's alright though, because the one time we've played in recent memory was a Henry County thrashing at the hands of Gallatin.
  8. I was not in any way "hinting" that HC hadn't played anyone. I haven't even looked at their schedule. A scenario was thrown out. You folks are a little sensitive about your team on here.
  9. Wasn't saying you were an HC fan, but since we're here on an HC thread I thought I would use a relevant example. What I said made sense as well. Also doesn't make sense that a team that goes 6-4 can get the number one or two seed in a playoff bracket over a 9-1 team, but that happens. It literally is the way the rules are written and there isn't a thing any of us can do about it.
  10. And no, I wasn't "freaking kidding you." I was being dead-A serious.
  11. I can be quite the "smart A." But it is just the way it is. And who gives a crap about having to travel? Cookeville is a lot further than wherever HC is gonna have to go. Should the state championship be at the school with the better record as well? No. And what if the undefeated team's schedule is a complete joke compared to the 3 or 4 loss team who went up to a higher class to play their games? Then is it still "fair" for the other school to host?
  12. It's not getting jobbed, it's the way it is. I'm sure no one from HC would complain about getting to host next year if another team from the opposite quad had a better record.
  13. The first-round games in all classifications shall be played on the 11th Friday of the football season. The second round shall be played on the 12th Friday, the quarterfinals on the 13th Friday, the semifinals on the 14th Friday, and the championship games shall be played on either the following 15th Thursday, Friday or Saturday. In Class 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A and 6A the higher seeded team shall be the host school in the first three rounds of the playoffs. In the semifinal and final rounds, in odd years, the top team in each bracket shall be the host/home team. In even numbered years, the bottom team in each bracket shall be the host/home team. This is from the TSSAA website under football regulations. That should clear everything up.
  14. eers, you do realize that Carnes is 15-5 as a starter at Gallatin. The team went 3-7 last year without him. That seems like a pretty huge difference to me. I think anyone in this district would be glad to have him on their team. You may have missed how terribly awful the Gallatin o-line has been in the losses and even some in the wins. Also receivers are not as experienced as some of these other places. For goodness sakes they pulled that Coggins kid off the baseball diamond, and that kid has turned into a pretty solid contributor. I guarantee you that Carnes has more football knowledge than just about any of those quarterbacks in that list you so graciously provided us with.
  15. If we're having a grammar lesson here it may be good for you to know that sentences are supposed to start with capital letters. Just throwing that out there for you.
  16. Not what I said at all. Gallatin has a quarterback that understands the game and knows what it takes to win (two losses as a starter in the regular season for his career). As well as a couple of new receivers that are coming into their own. The dynamics of this team changed for the better.
  17. Yeah, I'm sure the players have nothing to do with the result on the field.. This is not last year's Gallatin team.
  18. I see, my mistake. Either way, Smith County is nowhere near Gallatin or any other school in district 9-AAA
  19. I believe what happened with the field goal is that Coach Hat thought that the qb would throw it away if his guys weren't open on the last play, but instead the qb thought that he could bust a big run and stop the clock with a first down. Gallatin's run defense finally stopped him at a crucial time. My only answer would be that H-ville wanted to get a little bit further into the kicker's range to send it to overtime. Just didn't work out as planned.
  20. Since you were so kind about pointing it out, I thought that I would point out that post was a joke. These message boards are supposed to be fun, in no way was I being serious. Just having a little fun before the game. I have a lot of respect for Coach Hat and what he has accomplished at Hendersonville. I'm honestly quite offended that you think I'm an "idiot." (sarcasm) A little word of advice, excuses about officials and players out due to injury do little to help your school's case in the win column. It was a hard fought game on both sides and after watching the game again on tv, I didn't see much to support your argument. Hendersonville did not look like a well disciplined football team. Especially not on the offensive or defensive line. Gallatin uses the squib kick and sends the man in motion in order to gain an advantage. Similar the advantage gained when the Hendersonville kicker kicks into the end zone. Gallatin does not have anyone who can kick into the end zone, therefore we squib kick to prevent a big return. The man in motion did not go offsides, you probably just weren't used to seeing that very often. It's different. That's the whole point, Hendersonville had to have seen that on film the entire week prior to the game. (Gallatin has done it in each and every game and perfected sending that man downfield.) They were not prepared and Gallatin's coaching staff went after that. It's what good coaches do. Instead of being infuriated by the result you should try to take some positives away from it. That's what rational people do, and you are acting completely irrational about this entire situation. I have plenty of family and friends at Hendersonville that agree with me about the game, and the outcome of the game.
  21. Year before last when they lost one regular season game, and then lost to eventual state semi-finalist Hendersonville.
