If your example of the Memphis stigma is the night of the worst meltdown and self implosion in state championship history from a young team full of empoverished athletes who just werent mentally prepared for that a stage that big then so be it. I'm not here to change people, numbers don't lie. I'll just let you continue to overlook all the other Memphis teams that have gone to the ship and performed very well and focus on the meltdown. You keep right on thinking this is that same Trezevant from that night, like I said time will tell...

And if we make it we'll have a blast with them. Yall have fun with the big purple Bears of Trezevant. I must say they were very impressive when they scrimmaged Whitehaven this summer. It's a great chance they'll b Cookville this winter, but time will surely tell won't it...

So in the past 10 years the East were ahead by a bunch due to what 3 or 4 schools??? Point proven. Yall think yall dominate we only think those 3 or 4 schools dominate and you really look at it and tell me which case facts support. No one said the other teams in the East weren't good. I said the majority of the Easts gold balls come from 3 or 4 schools that dominate. The other gold minus those dominant teams are right on par with the gold we have in the west and in the middle. All I'm saying once again for the last time is there is NO overall east dominance, there are 3 (or4) dominant teams who happen to be from the East. The rest of the East minus those three (or4) are no better or have no more gold that any other part of the State! What percentage of yall gold balls come outside of Maryville ( who is close to 50% against teams from the west and completely obliterates all other East teams), Fulton, and Alcoa? I don't know much about the last two except they are dominant and win a lot of gold balls.

I recall a team called Melrose being in the mix getting some a couple gold balls back in the day as well. I also recall Mitchell having a gold ball as well as Memphis East, MUS, and Ridgeway. Yes you are VERY WRONG. Those two losses that Maryville has were not to Nashville schools; they were to WhiteStation and Whitehaven...two Memphis schools. Please correct me if I'm wrong but sounds like more than 75% of the gold balls in the East come from 3 schools. Which is the whole point I was trying to make that you just refuse to accept for whatever reasons. Those other non dominant teams you named have been dominated by those same three teams just like everyone else in the state.

lets take away alcoa...who won...CAK...lets take away fulton...who won greenville and giles co...and lets take away maryville...theyve lost once...so whitehaven...so of all those teams...and all those years...only 1 team from the west one...thats the point...kwc makes good solid points...u failed to do so Well I'm fairly new to coach T and a 5a/6a guy so I don't know much about the 3 teams u named, I only named the recent ones who always seem to dominate. But you saying only 1 team from the west has Gold in the trophy case shows you know about as much about the West as I know about the East. Whitestation(who also beat Maryville) Ridgeway, Memphis East, Melrose, Mitchell and MUS all have gold in the trophy case. I think there's more but that's all I got off the top of my head and there are plenty more that have made it to the ship and took home silver. All I'm saying is this East TN is dominant crap is just that...crap!

Everyone in TN including Whitehaven fans and coaches realize that was a horrible decision. And a trick play called at the perfect moment can work on any team. The game was won in OT. That play didn't just give us the game. But I wholeheartedly agree it would be better to see multiple teams from the West in Cookville, just like it would b better to see multiple teams from the East there besides the same 3 that runs through the East EVERY year. Is there anyone over there who can come close to beating them?

Take away Maryville, Fulton, and Alcoa from the East and where is this trophy case full of gold balls you speak of? So are u saying the rest of the East outside of those 3 or 4 traditionally dominant teams lacks coaching and discipline as well? Memphis is a traditional basketball town, but please believe the football programs are improving every year. Like KWC said earlier the talent pool is very spread out in Memphis. Not taking anything away from yall but he WHOLE East can't claim the success of a few teams. Saying it's ok to lose to the same team for over a decade says a lot about the coaching outside of those few dominant programs if u ask me. You will never see that in the West because we have a balance of good coaching (that's just as good if not better that the East outside of those 3 or 4 dominant teams) spread thought the area from the urban to the rural areas. You can't argue the success and great coaching of those few programs but as for the other hundreds of schools in the East they're no better and than any random team in the West, coaching and discipline wise.

There are only 3 or 4 teams in the east that have multiple gold balls, I guess the other hundred schools who NEVER win are undiciplined and undercoached as well. The whole East can't take claim for only a few good teams.

Stop saying "WE" like you represent any parts of East football, u probably never even played and if u did Im sure u barely got on the field. I know for a fact u didnt at Whitehaven. U sound like u might still be a student there now, if so spend some time reading and studying cause u don't sound too bright. East coach, players, and real fans respect Whitehaven; I guarantee it!
