Knox West is a LONG way off. Tyner is not. Neither is East Hamilton. The conference doesn't look as good as last year as a whole, but that doesn't take away from the importance of the season. Hoping all get healthy and the kids/ coaches stay motivated.
Don't like looking beyond the current game. Tyner will have the athletes to cause trouble. Or at least they did last year. Has anyone seen them in person? Players to watch for?
I absolutely loved the crowd turn out for both sides. Soddy started the game with some success moving the ball. Their scheme is perfect for what they have. It looked to me like the Owls physicality completely intimidated the Trojans; there were some huge hits being laid all over the field. Best of luck the rest of the way.
If he's the best in the district, he will prove it Friday. I don't think your 2 opening games are proper measuring sticks for the conference. To be fair, neither was our opener. What makes you think your skill guys are better than ours?
Pounders showed well and I hope they can remain disciplined for 4 quarters. You can ride emotion and adrenaline for 20 minutes, but a full game is a battle. Hoping for a W.
I wouldn't think a former college HC would play that game either. Never saw a kid playing that shouldn't have last year. Too many of us fans forget how little we know about the meat of a program and the players in it. The Owls and the Canes are lucky to have who they have.
I honestly don't know. A lot goes into naming a starter and we don't see but 5% of what the coaches do. We can win with either. I like our running backs; they'll surprise some teams.
Rhea County caught the aggressive Owls with a screen pass that went deep, but #4 ripped it out on the tackle. It wasn't dropped. Only other play over 5 yards was a FB dive that popped for roughly 20 yards. The offense caught a rhythm late and ahowed what they'll be.
East Hamilton looked young and unmotivated. That'll change quickly.
No arguments with anything said above. I think the Owls have had a solid preseason and summer. That's all that can be said with any certainty. Everyone is 0-0 until a week from Friday. Very excited for our district.
