  1. With all the new schedules coming up next season, a lot of coaches and AD's are worried about the "Gate". So I would love to hear your opinions on the best or largest visiting crowds, thx.
  2. Word out there is Sweetwater QB broke his collarbone in last series against Meigs County, he will be out 3-4 weeks. If this is true, could be a long night for the Wildcats.
  3. Not so sure I would call this a easy win for either team...but a win for either would be a big step toward a district title. I've been looking at the teams each have played, Sequoyah played Tellico and Walker Valley ,a combined record of 3-1. Central played McMinn County and Boyd Buchanon, a combined record of 0-4. We could go deeper, McMinn County coach said this season would be his biggest rebuilding challenge in 26 years. Of course other facts are Sequoyah graduated nearly a whole team of starters, Central has a lot of players back from last years team and this is where the Chargers should have the edge. All I'm saying is, this game may be a closer than you think, district games are huge and this one should be a good one!
  4. (Trying to remember), Seymour scored once on both Sequoyah and Powell. Sequoyah scored a couple of times versus Powell and a couple against Seymour and I think Powell scored a couple against Seymour...but like I said before, more like practice, but a lot of power football not much passing.
  5. It turned out to be a three way scrimmage involving Seymour, Sequoyah and Powell. Varsity on one end and JV on the other end. I think they got about 10 plays from the 40 for down and distance and then 3 plays from the 5. More like practice than a scrimmage, trying to work the bugs out. Very competitive and hard hitting action.
  6. Coach Allen made a couple of hires, the new OC Coach Ryan simply can put points on the board with his system, don't know a lot about Coach Plemons the o-line coach.
  7. A offer has been made, he has two weeks to let them know. No I will not say his name, not my place.
  8. Sorry, cant say a name, not my place. He has two offers, but I'm thinking he is leaning to WB. Should know in 2 weeks.
  9. This OC also knows defense. (His recent team, the defense gave up a average of (less than 10 points per game)).
  10. I know there has been some talk and possible a new OC coming in to help out...and I'll just say if it happens, its a big step in the right direction.
  11. Its my understanding that Sequoyah lost a ton of talent. They looked loaded in the first round playoff game I saw. That's a big question, "Can they reload? Or rebuild?" Records indicate they have been improving every year since a 0-10 season in 2010, must be doing something right in the JV department...
  12. My understanding, coaching pay is just not that good in that area, somebody done snagged him up!
  13. I hear ya DevilMan, and it really blows that the best two cannot meet for the Championship but in the eyes of the record book...etc... Wonder what the playoff matchups would have look like if you list all 32 teams then it would be 1 vs 32, 2 vs 31, 3 vs 30...etc...there would be a whole lot of traveling, but then we would have the two best teams in the championship game. Or make it a little more sensible by dividing the state and let 1 vs 16, 2 vs 15, 3 vs 14...etc...just a thought
