Jamboree last night was great. Crockett did not look good, they were down by double figures when I walked in. THS looked scrappy but not a lot of depth. Boone looked impressive with rolling over Happy Valley even though HV didn't look like they wanted to be there. There coach just sat there and watched. For Boone when players are throwing lobs from half court to your post, it will will be hard to stop. SH looked like a different team. They were flying all round last night. They played a style that was different than the last couple of seasons. I was talking to some of the parents and they said they lost East over the summer by almost 20 and last night they could have picked the score. Central looked like they might factor in somewhere. They were forcing turnovers left and right. Volunteer did a nice job. You can tell they are trying to learn a new system still but might be a middle of the road contender before the year is over. DB looked the part inside. Their high low is unbelievable. Whitson will be the POY again IMO. Still like my predictions from earlier. Everything runs through Boone this year and next. They will make a run to the Boro this year.

Anyone having a playday tomorrow? I wouldn't mind watching some basketball.

Glad to see we are on the same page. If Boone doesn't go deep into the post season...something is a miss there. They have the best team they have had in two decades. They will steam roll the league this season except for maybe DB. I just wonder if they have anything for MoWest, Bearden, Maryville, Farragut, Oak Ridge and whoever else is good in Knoxville.

I would say based on last year... 1. BOONE- returning everyone but 1 key piece in Jenkins 2. DB- having the Player of the Year and another monster post should keep them in every game 3. Central- Returning most of their squad, and with a new coach might be new system 4. Science Hill- had an off year with very little talent, have a lot of good freshman coming in 5. TN- lost a lot of seniors not sure on them 6. Volunteer- New Coach, New System, Same result probably 7. Crockett- Nothing as changed.

I guess no one cares about this league anymore. Huge game tomorrow night and no one is talking. I will say Boone wins easily. They just took the best team from here to Knoxville or possibly the boro to overtime. I am not so certain anymore that Tenn High couldn't sneak in the picture. I saw them play Boone over thanksgiving and was impressed with their effort. As for tomorrow ill take Boone by 17.

After watching SH, DB and Boone this week. Boone by far has the best overall team. I think they will run the table this year. SH might come in a distant second but I think DB will give them a run for it. I did see the Phillips kid at SH game in a big brace so she is out. Boone was big, shot well, and ran the floor well in their game. DB seemed a little week on the perimeter but should improve to compliment their inside game. The freshman has some work to do but with her and Salyer on the floor will be hard to handle for most teams except for Boone.

I hate it for Coach Conner. Happy for Coach Whaley. My statement would be the same if Conner got the job and Whaley didn't just reverse the names. When I talked with coach Conner, he was disappointed but had nothing but good things to say about coach Whaley. He said Whaley deserves the job and was happy to help him. I know Whaley as well and think he will do a great job for the girls program. I just hope he stays for awhile because Turner up and left too quick and the players don't need another flash in the pan. We will see what style he wants to run this fall. Should be fun. Anyone know where they are going this summer? I know in years past they went to MTSU.

Yes they lost to Riverdale twice in finals and Memphis central in lsemi the year they one it.

I think SH the last time they were at the state. They could beat anyone but Riverdale with the additional players they picked up that year. They lost only to nationally ranked teams that year. Probably the best team to ever play in northeast Tennessee.

Anyone heard on who has applied for the SH job? They have been tight lipped when I have asked.

I don't, I witnessed his players, the young ones body language when he tried to "motivate" them. They do not respond to him. Yes they will turnout around this year because the conference overall is down, way down from years past. Oh and I watched them play 11 times this year so I think I have a good gauge to base my comment on.

I do know that Barnwell is not coming back. I have spoke with him while he was in town and at the Crockett game. So yes I do know. Are you saying that Boone doesn't need a new leader? They have been average in conference with above average talent? Tim Campbell could have won the league this year and that is hard for me to say.

Looks that way. I just saw on Twitter from some reporters that they spoke with him. So now officially add SH as open.

Etown is very good not great. They are great what they do. If AA had any speed then Etown would be in some trouble. It will be extremely hard for aby AA team to beat them this year. They could beat all AAA except for 7AAA powers and maybe couple more.

That's what I thought too. I haven't heard anything on the Boone Job or Volunteer job. SH has been quite as well. I would have thought things would be rolling by now.
