  1. My feeling is that we will have another MC blowout. I certainly hope so. If so then DW gets a nice second half breather and the MC sophmore backup G. Wise gets some good time in. He has a very solid arm. Strong, accurate and doesn't get rattled at all. Ever. Has great understanding of how to run a offense and when and how to work a clock. He's not the athlete D. White is but does have a very good skill set as a pure QB.
  2. Graham gets rid of the ball so fast that it's really hard to get pressure on him. At least that was my thoughts after watching him pick Oakland apart. Quick passes to the playmakers outside and let them do their thing. Have to have solid tackling at the corner and safety positions.
  3. I'm afraid this will be Riverdale by as much as they want. That offense is legit and I've only seen one other offense this year that I would rank as good or better and that's Bradley. Not saying there aren't better, just that I haven't seen them if there is.
  4. Oakland wins but I would think a running clock is unlikely.
  5. I saw the connections part but I know enough of these guys to know they truly don't care. I've spent a lot of time with them in the pressbox during playoffs and know many outside of football. They don't care.
  6. Bradley County refs?? Lol...you don't know how it all works now do you? A official crew can be made up of 7 guys that all live in different cities or even counties. Secondly, they don't give two craps who wins or loses. They're there to do their job, collect their check and go home so they can do it again next week. I've known and worked with enough over the years to know this. Other than that you're spot on. Geez.
  7. I think the reality of the situation is that Oakland fans felt like it was going to be a lopsided game which it was so to see a crowd like that for a playoff home opener is not surprising. Seen many first and second round games like that in the Creasy era. Oakland fans have gotten waaaayy to used to winning. Including me. Anyone know how the two Oakland QB's stacked up statistically? I know they both threw at least one td based on what I read but don't know much more than that.
  8. Oakland was definitely gettin after it at practice today. Lots of activity. Drive right by the field every day coming home from work. Dollar to a doughnut Creasy and the other coaches been chewing some tail this week.
  9. Yup Gallatin can put up some points but they can give up a bunch too. My guess is that they will face the best overall defense they have played all season. Oakland runs away with it. Game over before halftime. I ain't captainguru but I approve this message anyway.
  10. Agree on this in general. It isn't just SH that has this problem. Last 8 years I ran the scoreboard for Oakland (retired before this season) and on many occasions I saw visiting teams with less than a hour drive have a very small handful of fans. I mean more players on their team than fans in the stands for them. I always wondered where the heck their parents were? Not even their own parents came to watch them play. Yes I know those were teams Oakland were going to have a running clock on but dang at least their own family should show up. It was sad and I felt horrible for the opposing teams kids.
  11. Weren't us. We was just having fun. I love stirring the pot occasionally too. Keeps it interesting round here. Last few years I've poked the Murvil crew saying their time was coming to an end. Haven't even bothered them this year. Won't kick a dog while it's down. Even I have some empathy.
  12. Did a thread mysteriously dissappear on Bradley vs Maryville? Any ideas why?
  13. Agreed. That Thurs night game was the first time I have seen them play this year. It was impressive to say the least. If they can play like that through the playoffs then I don't see anyone beating them. Too many skilled players. However, based on what I've heard this season, they do have a tendency to be inconsistent so who really knows. Playoffs look like they are wide open and should be fun. Oakland gonna have to work really hard for it this year if they wan't to repeat. Go Patriots.
  14. Congratulations to Riverdale on a great win last night. They came out in the second half and executed much better than Oakland. Riverdale qb was very efficient getting the ball to his play makers. He has a good arm, quick release and makes good decisions. Hopefully we'll see more of Freeman at qb for Oakland next game as he is clearly a more talented qb than Creasy. No passing attack with Creasy whatsoever. Freeman has more accuracy, MUCH better in and out of the pocket and the ability to scramble and tuck the ball when needed to get yards necessary. Freeman when scrambling is looking to make a play. Creasy when scrambling is looking for a soft spot to land and not get hit. It's obvious. Hope this isn't the hill Coach Creasy dies on this season but afraid it may be. Riverdale wanted it more and took what they felt was theirs. They deserved it last night.
  15. I certainly hope we don't get to find out.
  16. It's very hard to argue with that logic. Polls are nice for the kids and parents to look at but in reality the old saying about teets on a boar comes to mind. I'm really hoping for a Boo Bears vs Oakland matchup in the semis this year. Ain't either team a slam dunk to get there though.
  17. Any streaming other than NFHS? Would love to watch it.
  18. Is Holcomb still coaching at Riverdale or did he move on when his kid graduated? Does anyone know?
  19. As others that follow the Oakland program closely have said, this isn't your typical Oakland team. They have stumbled on occasion and have not had the overwhelming dominance that we have all come to love as supporters. That being said they have gotten progressively better as the season has moved along and are playing pretty good football by most standards. Riverdale seems to have an explosive offense and are well coached. I feel Oakland gets the win in this first matchup of the year but they are going to have to work for it. Should be a fun one.
  20. Absolutely. Didn't watch the game but checked his stats after the game. He looks to be in mostly a two back system much like he was at Oakland. If he stays healthy I look forward to watching him on Sundays in the future. Splitting reps saves a lot of wear and tear on the body.
  21. Freeman is a better option in my opinion. At least for me it was very obvious from the time Freeman came in when Creasy was injured. More accurate arm. Better footwork, more comfortable in the pocket and certainly doesn't shy away from contact. I'm pulling for the Creasy kid and hopefully he will get more comfortable. My .02 cents. Where might Brady be if Bledsoe would have been given his job back when he returned?
  22. Agree with all. Oakland's third string running back could start for most any team in the state. Certainly not all but definitely most. Kid is good. Has lots of talent and pedigree.
