  1. I'm new on here, so don't call me stupid, but what does that face mean?
  2. Yes. As long as GQ is there and we keep getting kids involved in the Cubs, Southerners, Raiders, etc., the future is bright.
  3. Can't argue that East TN looks pretty sharp this season!
  4. Agreed. Maryville rolls, as long as they don't underestimate them like they did Bradley Central
  5. The freshmen started 0-4, but won the rest of their 6 games, finishing 6-4. Their key RB Jordan Irving got injured in the very beginning, which hurt them a lot. He should be healthy by next year. I think he tore a few tendons in his leg. He did play in the high school jamboree though. The freshman class is loaded with linebacker TD Blackmon, who starts on varsity; RB Evan Porter, who got in a few plays this season; and other defensive player (not sure what position) Matt Young who did start, but also got injured. The freshman class was riddled with injuries this season. I think they had about 6 season ending injuries. Everybody should be healthy by the time summer workouts start.
  6. First off, congrats to Maryville on their 10th consecutive trip to the state championship. That's unbelievable! My question is, what kind of D were the Rebels running (I think it's called Rhino)? It seemed like a defensive lineman would break through the line and get right on the QB, but he wouldn't tackle him when he had the chance. The QB would be scrambling around, and the lineman would just slowly chase him. It didn't seem like they wanted to sack him. Anybody know why?
  7. After reading the comments, here's my prediction: Maryville 42 Blackman 21. M's offense has a good balance of pass (QB Garrett, WR Carroll) and run (Prevo, Burgess, Nickerson, Porter) effectiveness. Their two defensive powerhouses Jackson and TD Blackmon are a big part of the defense. The O line is pretty strong with Drew Curtis at center. John Garrett has many many options for receivers in Prevo, Miller, Tillery, Carroll, and Brock just to name a few. B's running game is quite a bit stronger than the pass, and I think if M can halfway-decently shut down their run game, they'll have to pass, which is their weak spot if they have one. IF, and IF B is FORCED to pass, Maryville wins easily. But I think M will have a tough time totally shutting down the run. I expect the first half to be pretty close, but the Rebels will pull ahead and prevail in the second half. The state championship game is with no doubt at Maryville in this game. M and B could easily take care if White Station and Hendersonville by at least 30 points.
  8. Nobody will be embarrassed whatever he means. This game won't be a blowout by any means
  9. Maryville will embarrass Blackman or Blackman will embarrass Maryville? I couldn't tell from that post
  10. I agree with this. Yes Maryville is very talented, but anybody who gets to the fourth round of the playoffs has to be pretty good. I just hope Maryville doesn't underestimate them like they did Bradley Central. If the Rebels underestimate the Blaze, there's no "second-half chance". The Blaze impressively beat a very good Oakland team at their place, and Maryville put a whoopin on Sevier Co even w/o Shawn Prevo. If he attends practice, Maryville has the upper hand. If he doesn't play, Blackman has a better chance for a game (obviously). Maryville is favored by 10, but depending on Prevo, it could be more or less.
