  1. Our halftime show is most likely going to be a Spanish-Jazzy show. We'll be playing selections from Stan Kenton. And Shaft is in the mix for stands tunes.
  2. No doubt we have a few holes that need to be filled, but GQ gets the absolute best out of players and will have them ready to go come August. The 'nobody' players one season always seem to step up and be the leaders the next season. Before the 2013 season began, GQ said that both QBs Garrett AND Vaught could BOTH start. Obviously Garrett started, and Vaught is returning in 2014. If he could've started this past year, I'm sure he'll be more than ready to go next season. The center position is a big hole too. When Jay Guillermo left for Clemson, Drew Curtis stepped up and filled the spot pretty well. After P-Rob left for Vandy, up came Nick Meyers, then Garrett, and now probably Vaught. RBs will be no problem either. Yes, Prevo is leaving, but we also had two more great RBs as well that got playing time. Jaylen Burgess and Jaylen Nickerson. Also, freshman Evan Porter got some playing time this season as well, so he'll probably get in a lot in 2014. Wide receivers will be fine as well. Cody Carroll leaves a big gap, but Brian Tillery will add to the offense as well. He played a bit in Cookeville. Also, Bryce Miller stepped up the second half of 2013, so I imagine he'll be a great leader this year. On defense, linebackers Fr. TD Blackmon and Jr. Dylan Shinsky will be returning. Other freshman Matt Young started in the beginning of the season, but got injured and didn’t play the rest of the season. This year’s freshman class has a LOT of talent, but most of them were hurt. They’ll be healthy this year, so I expect a few of them to start. Maryville always gets better after every game. I think they’ll be just fine……
  3. Maryville has too many starters returning and the upcoming classes are loaded. They probably won't be stopped in 2014
  4. Yeah I'm in that freshman class, and those guys work harder than anybody I've ever seen. They're talented and more importantly, dedicated. The only thing that worries me about 2014 is that if we make it to state, we'll be on the visitor side. Every time we've been over there, we've lost. White Station 2009, Whitehaven 2012, and Ensworth 2013. Call me superstitious, but I'm just stating the facts Go Rebels!!!
  5. Maryville's upcoming Sophomore class is loaded! Nicholas Quigg at QB, Evan Porter and Jordan Irving at RB, Matt Young and TD Blackman on D, Cole Burchfield on the line, etc. 4 of those players were hurt 3/4 of the year, and they will be healthy. Maryville looks unstoppable in the next 3 or 4 years. And the QB situation, we've seen time and time again where the QB position was a huge question like it is now, but GQ always gets the absolute best out of the players. Just take John Garrett and Nick Meyers for instance. Nobody knew who they were before the season, and they both lead their teams to sate title appearances. Maryville's lookin' good.
  6. a few Hville fans came over to the Maryville side first....
  7. Ref - "Sideline infraction, Alcoa" Announcer - "Alcoa taking some pointers from Mike Tomlin I see" Hahaha!!!!!
  8. Best game I've seen in the last 5 or 6 years! Those last two minutes were intense!
  9. Hahah that play was awesome. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6spHb4-tWA
  10. Oh yeah that was me! This is cool finding out who everybody is haha
  11. I think the band has always been there (Although I'm only a freshman, so I'm not really sure), but they just haven't done halftime
  12. I've more than likely met a lot of you, I just don't know your screen names
  13. And like we did to Red Bank's Gerald Riggs in 2001! I think Jackson, Shinsky, and all those guys can handle him. That's one asset to the Rebels. They can adapt well to any team.
  14. Thanks! We will! I'm like the only one in the band who actually cares about MHS Football so I'm always having to enlighten people on players numbers, opponent mascot, etc. haha. The only CoachT person I've met is Coach Spanky. He stopped me on the steps last week. I'd love to meet some more of you guys!
  15. Besides Hville's #34, what other talented players do they have? (QB, WR, LB, D-lines, O-lines, etc.)
  16. Come root on the band as well! We'll be next to the practice field
  17. Our numbers are always way down during Thanksgiving and Fall break. We have a lot of lazy people in the band, and they're the ones who don't show up haha
  18. Most all of us head to TTU. When you watch behind a screen, you don't get to experience the excitement coming from the players after a win (or the devastation after a loss). If you're actually at the game, you experience the game in its "raw" form. You don't get all the "fluff" the announcers give. Although, if you have really crappy seats (which is hard to do), the TV is better. But nothin' tops seeing the Rebels win a state title in person! When they bring the trophy over to the crowd, they erupt! It's awesome. I highly encourage you to come not just to the Maryville game, but all of em! A $12 ticket to see 3 state title games in one day? Well worth it.
  19. I just quoted what his profile said. I haven't seen any film of them (him) except what STARSNBARS posted
  20. That's impressive. On his football profile, one thing I read is that he's a two-way starter. FB and DE. That could play a factor in his endurance against Maryville's D (and O). That happened with Blackman. They started 3 or 4 people on both sides of the ball, which gave Maryville an advantage. I expect the same sort of thing to happen Saturday. Can you find any more film of them? http://www.hendersonvillefootball.com/rosterbio.aspx?playerid=606
