  1. I had nothing but respect for the Trousdale program until this game. No you don't tell players not to score, however you DO NOT throw the ball in the 4th quarter leading 77-0. I don't care if it is 4th and forever. Hopefully the Jackets will see the other side one day.
  2. As a lifelong wrestling fan I enjoyed both Gordon and Harry. Thornton was the Haray Caray of Wrestling while Solie had so much knowledge and was very smooth. Come to think of it I miss the old time days of wrestling very much.
  3. It will be on WLIV 104.7 in Livingston right after the Clay-Temple game. no webcast though.
  4. In as much as Amy Brown was a great player you can't forget Julie Powell also Beechboard and Davidson could take over a game like no others,
  5. girls first round: LA-Rhea, Pickett-Dobyns Bennett, Clay- Hendersonville, Unaka-Pigeon Forge
  6. girls teams are LA, Hendersonville, Clay Co. Pickett co., Unaka, Pigeon Forge, Kingsport Dobyns Bennett, Rhea County. boys teams: Clay, Pickett, LA, Station Camp, George Washington Carver, Rossview, Jefferson, Elliston Baptist
  7. As a test I took Gibson Co schedule and put what I think LA would do with it. I came up with 34-0. I took Livingston's 37 game schedule and put it against what I think Gibson would do and I came up with a 18-19 record. That was giving Gibson the benefit of the doubt in a couple of games. Would love to see Gibson make the trip out of West Tennessee and see some "real" action next year.
  8. i WOULD PUT Walker Valley, Smith Co, Upperman, York, in that order
  9. Not to be disrespectful Gcfan but there is no team west of the Tennessee River that could be in the top 3-4 in Dist 7AA and with Clarkrange controlling Peabody the same may well be true in Class A
  10. What it came down to is defense. Gibson just has not seen the defense that either of the final four teams can play and that hurt. All of the remaining teams have played great schedules. It will be a matter of who excutes
  11. Last time ole Pioneer Pete was seen he was fueling up for a trip west and trying to get a refund from the Garden Plaza for three nights lodging
  12. Not many surprises in round 1 as expected 4 very good teams from the eastern half of the state to play for the gold. good luck to all
  13. In as much as I would like to see LA or Jackson win, I think the team that beats Seymour will win the state this year. Only way a gold ball goes back to west tn is if you buy a can of spray paint.
  14. I admire your excitement Pete but you better not ask for something because it might just come true. Seymour, LA or Jackson Co. can take Gibson Co. on any given day. I would not be surprised if there aren't several more.... Oliver Springs, Walker Valley,South Greene who could send the Pioneers packing. But then again thats why games are not played on paper. You will find out when you hit the mid-state
  15. Why throw a game to play Portland? York cannot match up with Panthers. Portland by 17 or more
  16. I think the team that finishes second in the district tourney is in the drivers seat. In the semis of the region our one will play our three seed while the two would play the four seed from the district, That is assuming 7AA sweeps which I think they will
  17. meeting is at 10am. Friday and Sat games begin at 5pm. Mon is both girls semis at 6:30 and 8. Tuesday is boys semis at 6:30 and 8. Girls championship and cons. is at 6:30 thursday, boys Championship and cons. is 6:30 Friday
  18. I saw a game last week where a player went up with another player and since there now is not over the back then I don't guess that is why the player who was behind landed on the other players neck and he had to be helped off the court. Just would like to know what we should call it. I think I will continue to use "Over the back" when it applies
  19. rescheduled for next Monday Feb. 16th
  20. The game will be on WLIV 104.7 tonight at 7:30pm.
