  1. Thanks!! If I ever cover a Catholic game again, I'll be sure to snag some pictures of them. Haha
  2. Sunbright may have let their chance to beat a top team slip away tonight. Hosted OS, who was without two starters, and fresh off a 20 point loss to Union County. SB got up on them in the first half and held a multi-score lead over the Bobcats until late in the fourth. Sunbright went 6:10 without scoring in the fourth quarter. Also had a chance to score at the end, but a pass got fumbled and Sunbright didn't get a good shot off. 37-36 OS. OS survives a big scare to stay in the hunt for the regular season championship. Still wouldn't want to see Sunbright first round of the tournament.
  3. Yes, Kilby definitely adds a wrinkle to the game. Like tstewart said, it depends on which Kilby shows up. You'll either get a solid double double and a presence in the paint or 4 fouls. And I probably got a little too feisty with my original post. I feel for the kids at Oakdale though, because it seems literally no matter what they do, its not "respected." Oakdale was so bad for so long (including my four years), and now that they've finally turned it around, people want to put an asterisk beside every accomplishment they've had.
  4. In an unrelated note, I went to OS at Sunbright tonight. OS dismantled them by 20+. Did not expect that at all. I expected a low-scoring slug fest with one team getting a few breaks in the fourth. Good to see OS get a district win
  5. I normally don't like getting in the thick of things on here, but will Oakdale ever get respect from anybody? Back to back district champions, 33-2 over the last three seasons in district play, they've beat Coalfield six straight times, and they have two of the top players in the district. They have ran 4A the past three years. This year's games have been close, but they've still won. I also don't like the "football players were still rusty the first time" argument. Parker dropped 40. What does Oakdale have to do to earn respect? Beat Golden State?
  6. Thanks. I loved having photos of myself playing back in the day, so I try to get as many as I can for the kids nowadays.
  7. Timeout in the argument, who all plays tonight? Lol
  8. Top of the girls will come down to the last week of the season IMO. Oneida is the most talented. However, Wartburg, OS, Coalfield, and Oneida can all beat each other on any given night. I'm playing it safe and saying Oneida will win the regular season title, but its definitely not set in stone. I also believe Sunbright will sneak up and beat one of the top teams. They're the team I don't want to see first round of the tournament.
  9. https://flic.kr/s/aHskSQLEHe A few photos from Kingston and Catholic on Monday. I shoot photos for the Roane County News, so all of my shots are of the Jackets. Lol
  10. Anybody see the Grace score? Beat Midway 102-36. Wow.
  11. Oakdale takes down Coalfield 63-60 at Coalfield in a barn burner. Championship teams find ways to win, and that's just what Oakdale is doing. Great game
  12. Also, OS dominated Jellico by 40+ on Friday. Despite injuries, the Lady Cats keep winning.
  13. Who else plays this week? I know OS plays two non-district games (Union Co. and Sequoyah) and Sunbright on Friday I believe.
  14. Oakdale-Coalfield rematch at Coalfield this Tuesday. Oakdale got the benefit of some questionable calls last time, interested to see what will happen this time around.
  15. I didn't have a great angle to see it. I was on the sideline on the other side of the play, so the Oneida defenders completely blocked my view.
  16. Oliver Springs defeated Oneida last night 59-58. Suttles drained two free throws with 1.2 seconds left. Suttles made her way to the line due to an extremely controversial foul call, which I'm sure my Oneida friends are not happy about at all. This just goes to show that the top of 4A is a true toss up.
  17. Oneida defeated Oliver Springs in 2OT by a score of 68-60. Neither team got ahead by more than 3 points until the second overtime. Wouldn't say it was a "good" game by any means due to the sloppiness and missed free throws.
  18. I'm with you. It's a down year for the region no matter how you look at it. Fewer standout players as well. Most talent is young and not fully developed yet.
  19. Top team has to be Oneida. This district is more wide open than it has been in previous years, and not in a good way. Sunbright seems to be the only team that has improved compared to previous years. I could see D3 sweeping D4 come tournament time.
  20. One of OS' starters moved to Oakdale mid-season as well. Tough situation for coach Ingram over there.
  21. I know it's not 4A, but any predictions on how the 3A substate games will go tonight?

  23. As an Oakdale fan, I wish Steinmetz would've been 100% last night. Averages around 17ppg and was the D4 tournament MVP. Him only being able to play limited minutes hurt the team a lot. He would've gave them more options on offense. Can't do anything about a sprained ankle though.
  24. Return Jackson Hicks and Maverick Smith, but losing C. Hicks, Steinmetz, and Bingham will be massive. Weren't just role players, each was a threat. They have talent still there, though. Look for them to still be a top 3 team next year, just not what they were this year
  25. No matter what Oakdale threw at Grace, the Rams were able to withstand it. Oakdale relies on the three ball, and it just didn't fall tonight. Grace, if you're going to put us out, you might as well go all the way now. Haha
