  1. I like sycamore ahead of Harpeth. Matt brown and b. baker are better than anyone the Indians have. Brown will give Douglas a run for district MVP this season. The big kid missing from cheatham is gonna be an issue for Cubs this season. Will be harder to repeat but they can with Douglas
  2. I have heard that cheatham has lost Trevor Gaines, all district 6ft5 center. If so that's a huge loss on the glass and rim protection.
  3. This as been a very quite hiring to say the least. Has he made any staff moves? Met the team? Has he assumed teaching/coaching at CCCHS yet?
  4. Yes but those colleges and jobs have the opportunity to "compete" for the same talent so to speak. The public schools have to play with what they got. If you don't have a point gaurd you can't just go get one. I have no problem with CPA or any other school having a dominant program in any sport, but come playoff and tournament time they should be separate .
  5. Creekwood with a run 43 to 33 still 2nd
  6. It just got real for creekwood...Blackwell had ours cored them hisself 32 to 16 in 2nd
  7. Unfortunately MW and PC will be matching against CPA and Creekwood. Don't know if they can handle those 2
  8. I know what the scenarios could be and that isn't a giving as pearl has won 20 games and split with east this season. What I'm asking is does anyone think cheatham or the other three can get out this year. I'm a cheatham fan, just not sure they are as athletic this season. Thoughts?
  9. Tournament finals being pushed to Saturday for girls and boys. Does anyone see a scenario where any boys team from 9aa survive regions with Pearl, Maplewwood and East? I'm not liking any teams match ups
  10. New blue im Glad you realized I said that somewhat kidding and didn't get all hostile. Actually heritage matches up with cheatham better than anyone in the district. I do believe that this entire district is down this year and don't see the cubs getting a sectional bid this season. Hope I'm wrong on that. Hate to see you guys drop as we have enjoyed attending the games and the drive to heritage these last few seasons. Good luck to y'all come tournament time
  11. How come you left out the 3 loses to White House, westmoreland, and east Robertson that were between the cheatham win and Harpeth win? If cheatham plays their game, no one in this district can beat them. Are they as talented as last year? No but still class of district and they allare juniors with the exception of 1. Harpeth put everything they had into it and still lost by 7 with 3 of the cubs starters fouled out.
  12. Oops didn't mean to copy your Rey new blue... I would agree on the speed factor. #0 was lighting quick. Cheatham prob has 1 kid that could stay in from of him and he never guarded him. That has been the cubs Achilles heel this season. Quick PG. Matt brown from sycamore hit em up for 25
  13. Very impressed with the 2 post players for patriots, 24 and 22. They were the difference maker to me. Cheatham really couldn't match up with those guys strength.
  14. Cheatham beat sycamore tonight. Very impressed with the Matt Brown kid for sycamore was best player on floor I thought. What were score from around district?
  15. Wondering the same thing myself. The quicker they get this nailed down the better. Had Jackson been offered they wouldn't be in this situation. The results on the field would have been better and they wouldn't be starting from scratch 3 years after Finley left.
  16. Cheatham hasn't been doing much full court pressing at all. They do play good man to man def. They are big all starting five are 6ft or bigger, 1-4 can handle the ball and will push it off the rebound, took good shots and are getting solid minutes from bench in Lucas, and Lipscomb. Douglas and Gaines are tough on the glass and in the post. Douglas dropped 45 on Page with 16 boards. Not many Rural schools going to play with them. Creekwood can for sure, haven't seen any other AA yet.
  17. Cheatham put in on Harpeth. It was over by halftime. Had a 25 to 30 point lead. This is still Cubs district for next 2 years as they start 4 juniors. Austin Douglas will be the district MVP this year and next.
  18. Hold your head high Cubs, was a great season and fun to watch!
  19. Bonds is a rondo clone, got the eyes and handles but not the best shooter.
  20. Difference between d1 talent and small college players is on display. Hate it for cubs as they have worked hard and are deserving of a state trip. But hey got to play all 4 quarters. CPA defense was very good especially on Saunders in first half.
  21. It should be about the school zones. Schools with zones should play schools with zones. Schools without should play schools without, whether they give financial aid or not.
  22. Harlan is #20. He usually scores in the 15 -17 range, so scoring was up. He was shooting lights out. He is the floor general, when he fouled out against Harpeth , Cheatham struggled somewhat with their pressure. He will play a huge role in how far the cubs go...he is part of the big four as Mumbletype has stated. Haven't seen south side yet, but Haywood hasn't lost yet and waverly is 15 and 1 and playing solid. I agree that Cheatham plays better when competition is up which is a good thing for post season..can't wait for tournament time.
  23. Cheatham/ Kenwood should be a good one, 2 of the better teams I have seen this year along with CPA and lighthouse Christian. Cheatham could make a run to state this year. Have seen Cascade as well against Giles, deep team played about 8 or 9 kids and the Holt kid can stroke it.
