  1. We've got 2 new highlight videos of Nashville Storm Football action up on YouTube that were put together by Kevin Mason from some Stork Montgomery game fims of the Nashville Storm that I thought you'd enjoy watching. You can view the videos by clicking on the links below.Enjoy. While YouTube's video compression process makes these videos look very different (qualitatively) than they look on a full screen, I thought the editing work was pretty good, and the original filming was done by a guy who's very good at it.
  2. Ravens' McNair retires after 13 seasons Ravens-McNair.Retires **FILE** Baltimore Ravens quarterback Steve McNair looks over the field duri... 2 hours ago OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) ??” Baltimore Ravens quarterback Steve McNair is retiring from the NFL after 13 seasons. McNair told teammates of his decision during an emotional meeting Thursday morning before the launch of coach John Harbaugh's first minicamp. The 35-year-old McNair led the Ravens to a 13-3 record in 2006, his first season in Baltimore after 11 years in Tennessee. But groin, back and shoulder injuries limited him to six games in 2007. He threw just two touchdown passes while losing seven fumbles and throwing four interceptions as the Ravens struggled to a 5-11 record. McNair led Tennessee to the Super Bowl in 1999, where the Titans lost to the St. Louis Rams. He was named co-MVP of the league in 2003, sharing the award with Peyton Manning. The Associated Press
  3. That's an offer I'd pay some serious attention to, because Bayron's Lipscomb Fan Page is a very good website. I read this site often, and it's a resource that any High School football program would do well to emulate.
  4. I think Rhodes College in Memphis (the school once known as "Southwestern At Memphis") is another.
  5. I just re-upped as a Plus member for 4 years, so I'm all good for awhile.
  6. I found Jonathan Hathaway's MySpace site, and according to the site, he's at Bethel and playing football.
  7. You've named some very good bands, but my vote has to go to McGavock.
  8. Agree totally. For years, Pro Football Weekly's NFL Draft Analyst was the late Joel Buschbaum, a guy who probably weighed 120 pounds soaking wet, but who was as expert a judge of football talent as I've ever seen.
  9. Former Giles County star and UT signee Tyler Smith is headed to the University of Iowa after a postgrad year at Hargrave Military Academy. The storylink: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/bask...h.ap/index.html
  10. What is Coach Winkler doing now? This was a guy with a superb record over a long period of time. Hope his next opportunity comes soon.
  11. Hope this doesn't DATE me too much, but I remember Eddie (The King and His Court) Feigner. Used to call all his fielders in to sit around the pitching mound while he struck out the side. A top fastpitch pitcher can actually throw a ball faster than a baseball pitcher with the underhand motion. Glad to see a site that gives Fastpitch a lot of respect and props. Just because I have the ownership/front office football involvement doesn't mean I can't be a fan of a lot of other sports, Fastpitch high among them. And in Fastpitch (and a bunch of other sports), you have a great program over at Goodpasture.
  12. www.cracksmoker.com - Believe it or not, this is a SPORTS website. www.thebrushback.com -Funniest sports satire site I have ever read. www.museumofhoaxes.com - Title is self-explanatory.
  13. Thanks to Coach T for the great pic on front page of Danielle Pieroni, one of Tennessee's great prep athletes, PERIOD. Before I entered the relationship with the woman who will soon be my wife, I used to date Danielle's older sister (Don't call me a dirty old man; Danielle's older sister is 31), so Danielle is my favorite Tennessee prep athlete. There is a Professional Fastpitch league called National Pro Fastpitch, and I am considering starting a Nashville franchise around the time Danielle finishes her UT eligibility. Many of you are already familiar with my other sports enterprises. Thanks to Coach T for providing a balanced ALL-SPORTS prep website for us to enjoy.
  14. Found another one on May 7, and this is youth-oriented (age 8-14). Nashville Kats have a skills camp on May 7. Info at www.Katsonline.com.
  15. Here are the Middle Tennessee Camps I've been able to find on the internet; MTSU; Rising Junior-Senior Camp, June 5- www.goblueraiders.com MTSU: Lineman Camp: June 12-15; Grades 8-12-www.goblueraiders.com MTSU: Youth Day Camp; June 13-15; Grades 1-8- www.goblueraiders.com MTSU; 7 on 7 passing camp; TBA- www.goblueraiders.com Vanderbilt; 7 on7 passing camp and lineman challenge, June4- brian.reese@vanderbilt.edu Vanderbilt; Senior Elite All-Position Camp- June 5- brian.reese@vanderbilt.edu Vanderbilt; High School All-Position Camp-June 12- brian.reese@vanderbilt.edu Drew Bennett/Erron Kinney (Titans)- Sports International Football Camps, July 12-16-(800) 555-0801; Nashville I could be wrong, but the area least served by the available offerings is youth football(although MTSU may have a good camp in this area), and I don't know the age groups served by the Bennett/Kinney Camp.If there is high demand in the younger age groups, I know the Storm and Patrick Abernathy would be very interested in filling a void; whether that exists is up to your input.Patrick can be contacted at (615)573-5543 or patrickabernathy@hotmail.com.
  16. Iwould contact Patrick at patrickabernathy@hotmail.com or (615)573-5543 and inform him of your interest. IWOULD DO THIS NEXT WEEK,as Patrick has Storm tryouts this Saturday and is, I am sure, "slammed". It's hard to get more interested in youth football than Patrick is; he is the part of our ownership group that mandated a heavy outreach for youth, Middle School, High School football. East Tennessee may be a stretch or may not (we always have PLAYERS whose careers started in that area). You'll get an empathetic voice on the other end of the line, I can tell you that.
  17. Nashville Storm has an awfully good coach in Patrick Abernathy with NFL experience and a strong desire to outreach to youth football. I think I can guarantee he will want to do some clinics if the demand is there. Would love to hear from some of you on this topic, as this will encourage Patrick. His 23-4 record over last 2 years isn't chopped liver, and he has both the desire andd a wide resume' to offer. Love to hear your ideas; if there is a void here, we'll do what we can to fill it.
  18. Also check out David Sanders' Tennessee Jaguars. David can be e-mailed at DSanders2@TnState.edu.

  20. This isn't High School basketball, but it IS about basketball, so I figured this was the best place to put this. This is a message board about a new national one-on-one basketball league starting play, and I love new and original enterprises, so I hope you'll check it out.
  21. It is always one's hope in life to learn something that is useful every day, and I have learned something useful in the replys I have received on this and other boards. Specifically, what I have learned is that boards like Coach T Have followings not only among those involved in High School Sports, but Middle School and Youth Sports as well. Therefore, I am announcing that the 2 programs of the Nashville Storm designed to benefit High School Sports Programs and Boosters that have been announced on this board are now available to Middle School and Youth Sports Programs as well. My best wishes for a great season for everybody; we'll do our part.
  22. I am the COO and co-owner of the Nashville Storm Football Team of the NAFL, America's largest minor football league (105 teams). The Storm play a summer regular season and are in their 4th year of operation in the NAFL; we will be playing our 2005 home games at McGavock High School's Football Field in Nashville, TN. The Storm, featuring 13 former TSU players and 4 former MTSU players, were an NAFL "Final Four" playoff team in 2004, losing in the National Semifinals to the Central Penn Pirhana. In 2005, the objective of our ownership group (Patrick Abernathy, Jeff Freeman, and myself, Bill Caldwell) is to partner with the great HS Football programs and booster clubs of Tennessee to bring this great team the fan base it deserves (in the industrial Midwest, NAFL teams routinely draw 3000-6000 fans for home games) and to bring a high level of professionalism to Concessions, Promotions, and Merchandising. As part of this quest, we are offering all Tennessee Booster Clubs who wish to participate an opportunity to raise funds thru commissions on the sales of Nashville Storm Season Passes. Season passes for the Storm will be selling for $30.00 apiece, with the participating booster club selling the passes earning a commission of $10.00 on the sale of each pass. Booster Clubs who wish to participate in this fundraising opportunity can do so by contacting me (Bill Caldwell), either by PMing me on this board, by e-mailing me at pking34@comcast.net, or calling me at (615)804-2117 or (866)458-4448 (toll-free). I will supply you with Nashville Storm Season Pass order forms. Our website address is www.nashvillestorm.com. We are committed to building relationships with the great High School Football and Spirit programs and Booster Clubs of Tennessee, and are looking forward to hearing from you. Your feedback is always welcomed by the Nashville Storm.
