  1. Oakland starting QB #19 is out. Backup QB who started first half of season is starting tonight.
  2. Maryville has a better defense than Blackman and Oakland only scored 20 last week with great field position.
  3. Offense Quarterback - Blackman Jauan Jennings is a 4* Dual-Threat Quarterback that is committed to the University of Tennessee. This kid is a winner and has only lost to two Tennessee teams while becoming the starting Quarterback for the Blaze: Oakland and Maryville. Jennings is currently on a two game winning streak against the crosstown Patriots.Running Back - Blackman Charlie Davidson is the best running back in the district. Davidson runs angry and with a bad attitude. With a great speed/power combo for a high school running back, it's going to be tough for the Patriots to stop him, especially with Jennings and the Wide Receivers Blackman has. Josh Cunningham from Oakland is a good high school running back, but Charlie Davidson is on a different level than Cunningham - he's a great high school back.Wide Receivers - Blackman If you don't name the last names Killings, Hardy, and Morton before Friday night, you'll be familiar with them after the game. Killings is a speedster who finds ways to get open, and Morton and Hardy are 6'3" and 6'5" respectively. Killings also returns kicks. Oakland has solid receivers in Kyle Oliver and Jacoby Stevens, but they don't have a quarterback to distribute them the football.Offensive Line - Blackman Blackman graduated one offensive linemen from last year's state semi-final appearance, and it shows with how the Blaze have dominated opponents up front. The interior three are almost as good as it gets in high school ball. Oakland has the best lineman in the district in Jack Jones, but after him the talent drops off significantly. The line isn't anywhere close to as good as it was last year, graduating four of the five starters. Defense Defensive Line - Oakland Oakland's defensive line is headlined by Junior Defensive Tackle Ty Nix. Nix, who has multiple offers, is also the son of MTSU Defensive Coordinator Tyrone Nix. Nix is the best interior defensive linemen in the district by a big margin, if not the best overall. He is complimented with teammates with speed at the defensive end position. The whole defensive line is superb. Akers is strong force inside for Oakland as well.Linebackers - Oakland Vanderbilt commitment Josh Smith has had an outstanding year, and looks ten times more comfortable this year than last. He is complemented by the reigning District 7-AAA Defensive MVP Kevin Prather. Both have outstanding speed, strength, and experience. Defensive Backs - Oakland I gave Oakland the nod in this category because of the fact Blackman has to use their Wide Receivers as DB's, and there is a significant drop off when they come out. If they could stay in the whole time, it would be a draw, but Oakland defensive backs are fresh, mostly only playing one side of the ball. Jauan Jennings has played safety and corner this year, and is obviously a game changer, but I give Oakland the benefit of the doubt in this one. Prediction Blackman - 24 Oakland - 14 I am picking the Blaze for two reasons. 1.) They won the first meeting. I know it's three months later, but if they did it once, they can do it again, especially at the Inferno. 2.) I think Blackman's offense is good enough to score some points on the Oakland defense. I don't think Oakland's offense is good enough to score points on Blackman's defense to keep up with the Blaze's offense. It's going to be a great game. Come out and watch. You don't get these classic games every week of the year so I encourage anyone in the area to come out and watch a great high school football game. My prediction is my prediction, criticize it all you want, but it won't change. I've watched these two teams enough to formulate an idea of how I think the game is going to end up, so if you're a fan of either team and are upset with my prediction, I couldn't care less. I am proud to say that 7-AAA will be represented well in the next round, no matter who wins.
  4. No they won't. They would get smoked by Maryville, Oakland, and Blackman,
  5. Good luck, TC. Hoping for a safe, injury free game.
  6. Fair enough, You got me. I admit I should have used a better word. One-dimensional. Against a weak, 5-5 Mt. Juliet team they ran for close to 400 yards. I'm not saying Oakland is a bad team, I think they're top 4 in the state in 6A, but they're one dimensional. Their offensive line is not what it was last year. You're telling me Maryville wouldn't put 8 in the box and make Oakland throw the ball? That's asinine. You and I both know that.
  7. Respectfully disagree. Oakland has no offensive identity. Defense might be the best in the state, which is great, but they are prone to turning the ball over. Maryville would eat Oakland alive, and that's coming from a 7-AAA fan. Blackman is Murfreesboro's best bet.
  8. Bad thing for MTCS. They hate to play physical. That's why Forrest drubbed them.
  9. Thank you, yjacket. Questions about getting to the stadium. Coming from Lebanon you will pass a Publix and Kangaroo on your right and continue straight, passing a Kroger and Sports Com, then pass a new Walmart and a Sonic and then like a poster said above a Regions Bank on the left and the school is on a road immediately past it. Take that road and go to the end of it and take a left then park behind the church that is diagonal from the stadium.
  10. Trousdale County fans, who got hurt last week? Thanks in advance. Pulling for the Yellow Jackets in this one. I have family that have went to school and played ball for TC. I'd like to come to this one if I get the chance.
  11. Grays is a great back, and LaVergne is playing it's best football at the right time, but Oakland has too much speed on D for Grays to impact the game by himself. LaVergne's offensive line is going to have to play great and they're going to have to toss it around a bit to have some success. LaVergne is light-years ahead of where they've been, and although Stanton gets some criticism around the state, I tip my hat to him. I don't know if LaVergne's offensive linemen can double team and get to Oakland's LB's well enough to keep this close. They're front 7 on D have to play well too. Oakland by 21.
