  1. @TynerRamFan. You all won't get past McCallie tomorrow. The win streak stops. Baylor will play typical slow down game against the Pounders. Austin Clark will try to keep them from getting out in transition. Central will pull away late. It will be definitely be Cwntral and McCallie Tuesday night.
  2. Central heads into the Best of Preps with the addition of a 6'7" big man. This kid will add depth to a front line that is already pretty good. He was a transfer. This could prove to be the key that drives the Pounders back to the 'Boro. Lots of season left, but this is a mature, outstanding team. Gonna be a great Best of Preps tournament. Hope Central gets to play Ooltewah in the second round!!!
  3. Central and Brainerd both have strong teams. Ryan Montgomery is a fantastic player. He is a even better person. Free throws and turnovers will be the difference in this game. Really want to see how both will stack up to Hamilton Heights as the season progresses. Rodney Benford, Terron Hayes and JaMichael Poole are all outstanding players as well. Should be a great game.
  4. Thoughts on the team so far? Thoughts on the upcoming clash with district rival Brainetd?
  5. I know many of you will say I'm defending Bloodsaw. I'm not. Game management was bad. Many of you will hang your hat on the Jv having a great season. Remember 2 years ago these seniors went 9-1 as sophomores on Jv! It doesn't translate to the next level. Times are really bleak on the hill. As far as Harrison High School, it will never happen. Too many proud "old head" boosters to allow it. Schedule next year is brutal as well!
  6. People need to realize what was lost the year before? Tons of talent! Mallory was a horrible coach! Bloodsaw has really been put in a no win situation this year? Why do you think the great Mallory left? Why do you think Braswell left? They knew the outcome before the season started. Sometimes you just got to accept that the you don't have the athletes to compete. I'm not saying Bloodsaw did a good job. I am saying that the kids played a major role in it as well. Until our administration sits down and realistically gets behind football, this is the end result for years to come!
  7. There is a lot left to be determined. Central has some young kids that are gonna have to hit the weight room this off season. The schedule was brutal this year. Several kids that were expected to have huge seasons didn't pan out. That's high school sports. Not sure if Bloodsaw will get a second year? This community is starving for this football program to return to prominence.
  8. Pounders just flat got blasted tonight. Offensive line loses #72 Andrew Wilson to an apparent concussion. This hurts a line that is already struggling to find any chemistry. Offensive penalties for misalignment, delay of game and holds doomed them from the start. I bet we didn't have 100 yards total offense? The Carter kid didn't hurt us at all. He did have a 96 yard kickoff return called back for a block in the back. Really no bright spots for us what so ever. To put it blunt....we got smashed. Doesn't get any easier. We travel to Livingston Academy next week. Hope the boys practice hard this week. If not, could be a repeat of this week!!!
  9. Facts are facts. No miracles will be performed this year. Bloodsaw faces an uphill battle. The schedule is brutal. There is one thing that is constant. Like it or not, he's not going anywhere. He truly wants to be the Pounders head coach.
  10. I thought that Central ran the ball pretty effectively. They just can't throw the ball at all!! This will prove to be an Achilles heel all season. Soddy is coming off a impressive win over Red Bank. Wanna see the Carter kid play. He is a legit D1 talent in football if he doesn't get drafted in baseball. The Pounders defense won't be able to stop Soddys passing attack. This game could get out of hand quick if Centrals red zone struggles continue.
  11. Booger, Your Irish will do what they want to do Friday night. This years Pounders have some talent, but they are replacing too many key components from last years state playoff team. I love my Pounders. This year will be tough on the hill. I just pray that each team plays with class and avoids any injuries.
  12. Pounder1, talked to multiple people that went and said it was just horrible. How can you beat or tie someone when you only score once in 6 games? As far as passing game last year, it will far surpass anything that this team has. Scout ran for his life most of the year. Tiller, Swafford and Baxter were productive receivers. Say what you will, it's gonna be pretty rough. A turd is a turd. Can't sugar coat it! Just lost too many players to graduation.
  13. After the showing at Baylor, it really confirms the woes that this years team will face. The offense will be one dimensional, thus allowing teams to stack the box with 10-11 players. Sugar coat all you want, this is gonna be tough times in the hill this season. All anyone can do is support these young men. The schedule this season just doesn't seem to warrant many victories.
  14. This is going to be a very rough year for the Pounders. Lost way too much to graduation. Hope I'm wrong, but only see maybe 1-2 victories if that. Will be a long year on the hill!
  15. Weak prediction! Chatt Central will def be one of the top teams in Chattanooga this year. Not gonna bloat, let their actions speak for itself on the field. Remember I told ya so!
  16. Farragut is always loaded! Great baseball program.
  17. They are good players, but they play in a tough district. They still lack the dominant starting pitching. Not a Ooltewah fan by any stretch. Frigate was their ace last year and a great kid. Losing him and Binder will be hard to replace. Hayden is a heckuva player also. I don't see Duncan, Collins and CJ mowing down people like the past pitching staffs did. This is by far the least talented team they have had in years. Folks, they have been loaded. Just my opinion.
  18. Quality pitching? Did y'all have kids transfer in? Hunter will be the #1 won't he?
  19. Coach Caldwell and Coach Hitch will work well together. Both are established winners. Gonna be a very interesting year. Hope to see at least 3-4 area teams represented in the Boro!
  20. Ooltewah lost a ton of talent! They are in a total rebuild. I see them finishing in the middle of the pack in their district. Not real sure about South Pitt. I know they have a lefty that is a pretty good pitcher.
  21. In the Chattanooga area, d2 McCallie will be good again. Should have a chance to repeat in D2. I AAA, look out for Soddy Daisy and Bradley. Both return some quality players. Look for East Hamilton to sneak in there by the end of the year. In AA, Central will be hands down picked to be the cream of the crop in Chattanooga. Return 8 of 9 starters with a deep pitching staff. In A, Boyd Buchanan will once again make it to the Boro. Very deep in pitching and returning players. Should be a promising year for Chattanooga baseball.
  22. Hope so! Love seeing these young men succeed! Have known many if them since they were young. Very special group. Would love to see them in the 'Boro!
  23. If Bloodsaw got a head coaching job, my next guess would be Gerald Williams at Ooltewah Middle School. Very deserving candidate. Just a thought.
  24. Central will have it's hands full next week with both Brainerd and Howard visiting the Thunder Dome. Can't wait to watch.
  25. Shurette will have the Lady Pounders in several difficult tournaments. These girls will have experience on their sides. I believe they will he hungry too. Should be a great season.
