Trez D is playing hard but I think its more Fulton not executing then Trez shutting them down, it will be interesting to see if that continues, Trez looks to be one of those teams that only has a couple plays in the play book, my little Johnny faster then yours.

Congrats to West but looking back over the post on here its comical reading them and realizing that the majority of the post had Hillsboro just shutting down West and on average most posters had Hillsboro scoring around 30 points, guys post the weather hurt Hillsboro but many of the post imply that Hillsboro was a running team not a throwing team, looking at their stats it looks like their throwing game was very minimal at best only throwing about 14 times a game. IMO it looked to be exactly what it was, West was by far the better team, Hillsboro may not have been awful as some would claim but not up to the task certainly. In comparison of players it looked to be that West skilled players were much better then the hype of some others. Great season for both but, the better team did win.

I think 43 is a great running back he will be missed on Friday nights for sure but, something needs to be done to many people controlling the over all situation that closes the door for deserving coaches and kids to be recognized for what they accomplish not who their friends are, lots of players on these teams maybe good ball players but their numbers aren't even close to their counter parts.

5 , 43 for AC and some others, pretty sad considering their numbers compared to the ones that got selected, a bunch of kids because of who the coaches are for the teams but I think you should not be able to bring your players as its a conflict of interest, if a player on your team is good enough then they will get there without the good ole boy system that goes on, heck look at the Mr. Football awards, you have kids getting those awards for positions they don't even play.

yea considering Hillsboro is the best team in any classification they seem to have there hands full right now, wasn't down grading any kid, just saying it looks like the GT commit is a better player, 4.35 40 is pretty impressive, looks like West has some speed up front as well, Hills having trouble blocking them.

Hillsboro just to fast for West, TN commit against GT commit, so far GT looks to have gotten the better player.

I'm not really a guy in the know as they say, I have a good friend that is close to the situation and he told me that info, I think the HC is the one outside the knox area I was talking about, I was considering the OC and DC more local, I am sure Powell is like any school they are taking a look at the applicants and have narrowed their wish list of possibilities to a few guys, doesn't mean its who they will get but feel that the guys they have narrowed it down to gives them the package they are looking for, I wish them the best in the search.

The word is its an HC, it was said they are keying in on three guys, an OC,DC and HC, two are from Knox area schools with the third being in the Knox area but a little further out, the HC from what I was told is the front runner.

Back to HS ball, Maryville wins this game easily, I think the Rebels have proven it takes a complete team to beat them and very few HS coaches build complete teams they usually have a few good players and they build on that concentrating on their studs abilities to win for them and forget about the little things like special teams, Ravenwood is built around 24 and his abilities not the whole team, take 24 out and this team will struggle, heck Maryville losses their QB and still walks through teams, why because they are complete and built to perform as a team not about one player.

I am not trying to diminish anything, I deal in facts and the facts are as one of the other post said allot of smoke and mirrors going on over there at the hill, your right they did play a bunch of freshman but correct me if I am wrong, any Sophomore or junior that played this year is two years under the guidance of the brick layer and his staff, so on one hand you say we don't have the talent but on the other you have players that has been under the new direction for two years and they haven't improved enough to make you competitive, isn't coaching about developing players not just trying to find all the all stars to win games for you, Alabama gets the stars then makes them fit their scheme in one year, the fans bring up the inexperience , well you have players that have played for the layer for two years and have they improved? look at the numbers, look at where these players were when they got here and what have these same players accomplished. It can be said if Dobbs started every game maybe TN wins a few more, well Dobbs didn't start because you had a coaching staff saying he wasn't the guy nor ready, so which is it, the brick layer and his OC are great coaches on evaluating talent or they had no clue, oh wait you will say they were saving him for red shirt, take this to the bank, the Brick layers EGO is way to big to not have won more then six games, if he thought Dobbs wins games for him Dobbs would have been starting all along, Bottom line accomplish something then bang your chest, recruiting players is only part of the equation and lets not forget how many four and five stars never pan out, you don't here all these other coaches having gimmick saying to hype their teams they just show up and play.

Just about any coach worth 2.2 mil a year could beat those teams. the freshman argument is so stupid, some of these guys came in as if they were the best with hype that never showed to be fact, there is allot of freshman playing in every conference and its a fact that we had only one freshman that came close to living up to his hype, just a few teams playing freshman that lived up to the hype, GA,LSU,Clemson, OSU, just to name a few. Jones is great at hyping all he does but as the old saying goes , actions speak louder then words.

Its very funny listening to the reasoning on how butch has changed the program, the beginning of the season analysis of what any team will do is nothing more then speculation, even the so called experts are guessing with their predications saying a team will do this or that. Just as Jones made his rounds this week and saying people thought we would only win 2 to 4 games, the funny thing is even the pro butch radio shows around town called him out saying that they never heard that being said, lots and lots of feel good words and hype around a team that has made some progress but, still today does not have a win that you could consider special, many want to say well if the GA game would of should and all that stuff we could have beat them, well that goes both ways, if GA had this or that go their way they beat TN even worse then they did and really what has GA done that even makes them special, win nine, ten games in the east where a new team comes from a difference conference and wins the East not once but both years they have been here, come on get real the East is very bad, we had four teams lose to the ACC all on the same day and probably the East teams will have more loses then wins in the bowl games. to sum it up TN has got to get to the top of the East first and become the best of the worse that the conference has to offer, then once that happens they may have a win that justifies the butch jones statue. By the way being competitive is what all losers s,ay or they played their best, well at the end of the day if you lose you lost, the Alabama game was nothing more then a bunch of kids realizing that TN couldn't beat them so after making TN look silly for one quarter the players kicked in cruise control. Shape it how ever you like until TN is at the top of the very bad East then celebrating a bowl game is nothing more then celebrating a sub par season giving acceptance to being where you are.

I don't think our HC is looking to leave. He did do a great job this year but, still has something's to get done IMO.

Another over rated team that has the luck of the schedule to make them look like a contender, Loudon's scheduled teams they played are a combined 53-82, just the facts, they have beat a couple descent teams that was much the same with their schedules, slice it how ever you want a good running back is great to have but Fulton will have 11 guys on the field that will be as good or much better then Loudon's guy.

When fans look at Maryville's scores they just don't realize that the Rebels could score as many as they want against most teams but, the coaching staff is always building for next year so they play young guys as quickly as possible not to be concerned about style points, just like SH Oakland will have to play their best game to win. I think Maryville makes it the BCB and rematches with Blackhaven and gets their justice for the bad, bad call that cost them the last time they played. By the way I am a Halls Red Devil fan, not a Maryville guy but I watched that phantom call at least 10 times on my TV and make no mistake those boys were robbed.

Never said Fulton is coached badly, IMO I don't think they are even close to Maryville when it comes to fundamentals, allot of passes that are thrown are a pull back and throw it as far as you can and let our athlete run to it, run allot of toss sweeps which is as basic as it gets, hey its working great keep doing it but IMO when they line up against a team that is very much fundamental and athletic they will have trouble, just as you guys were able to shut up the talk on how great Catholic was suppose to be the Fulton slayer, I think Maryville will do the same with Fulton, No disrespect just stating what my opinion is for this future game.

Well said, I think Fulton rides their wave through until game two next year when the show down takes between Maryville and Fulton, the difference in that game will be a well discipline football team playing a very athletic one, Fulton looks very good with their athletes but fundamentals is not their strong point, Maryville has played some of the most athletic teams the state has to offer and they continue to beat them all but that's next year. safe travels to you BV and I as well hope you money is not wasted.

Maryville 48 SH 17 I guess I just don't understand the win/lose scrimmage thing, scrimmages are done in a very controlled environment with different coaches working on different things, as far as I know the score board isn't on in these controlled practices, SH may have the best QB in the Southeast but it takes a whole lot more then a great QB to beat a well rounded team. If you watch SH with their fundamental play its becomes pretty obvious that their team is merely an athletic one. No disrespect, just stating what it looks like.
