Championship Game was Played Tuesday, Upsets Happen & Mess Things Up Sometimes. But IMHO the 2 Best Teams in that Region were Oak Ridge & Maryville. Best of Luck to All Teams that Advance to Sub-State, that is Still a Great Accomplishment, Especially in the Big Schools

I really don't watch Girls hoops very often, although I have seen Byrdstown play & they are not the fastest team in the state, seriously Clarkrange is terribly slow. Fulton is much faster, Oak Ridge is Much Faster, Mufeesboro Much Faster, etc,etc. Some teams will let you play fast for obvious reasons such as bad early shots but others will defend and slow you down by pushing set shooters off their spots and defending the ball. Anyone can beat anyone on a given night but the reason they have classifications such as A,2A,3A,4A,5A,6A etc,etc is simple, to keep it competitive & fair. Most times that is the Reality of all Sports, yes anyone can beat anyone on a given game, but usually not

If I am not mistaken Sparta has been the Best Upper Cumberland Team the past 4 or 5 years & I don't watch Girls Basketball. Especially Single A Girls. Sure their is some good girls that play in Single A, but I just prefer a faster game. That being said Upperman has a Girl that can GO

Good Post. Everyone is Entitled to their Opinion. The Golfer (UCsportsfan) doesn't seem to Grasp that. I also agree with you that Celina would Not win the 8AA & I know several of the Coaches in 8 AA that agree with me. Yea Celina would win some games but anyone that thinks that their isn't a difference in those 2 districts is simply not realistic

I know that Celina beat Macon, so that means Celina beat Macon, regardless that does not mean that Celina would win the 8 AA district, 8aa is tougher than the League that Celina Plays in but 8AA is not a tough district. If Celina had to play Macon, Livingston & Upperman consistently it would be doubtful if they would win, different deal, and they shouldn't win because they are a school with what?? 300 or 400 kids. Sometimes it doesn't matter in certain areas but most of the time it does, Celina is a good Single A team & their region isn't very tough at all, if it was they would advance after they get to state Tourny . It's a wonderful accomplishment to get to state tournament but if your district & region is tough then it will show when you get to the state tournament, that IMO explains why schools from the Upper Cumberland Area rarely get past first round of State (boys). Some areas are just easier than others. Pretty simple really. Celina is a Good Small School Team, Macon is a Decent AA team, Cookeville is a Horrible Big School Team. Upper Cumberland as a whole is possibly the worst boys basketball district in the State. Sorry but as they say " It is what it is"

Single A, Extremely Weak District, Absolutely No Defense Played. Key is a Good Player, Endicott is a Good Player. Key plays on a Team that Everyting is All About Key, Endicott plays on a Team that Everything is about Team, Key Dominates the Ball 90% of the Game, Endicott has the ball around 20% of the Game. Both are Good Players, Don't be ridiculous & say otherwise

Endicott is By Gar & Away the Best Player in that District. Offensively & Defensively

Bradley Central is Playing Better & Tougher than anyone in that District right now, and their quality wins as of late against Cleveland & East Hamilton reflects that

I hope they make it to the State Tourney & I wish them nothing but the best. Maybe I was wrong & Macon will win the entire thing, maybe they will be the First Boys Team from 8AA to Ever Win the State, I hope so, but just because you win a District game doesn't mean you are good & that goes for every region in every state. I have seen teams that were undefeated & sorry. Time will tell. Best of luck to All

Your the guy that actually compared Middle TN Basketball (Celina) to Memphis Basketball. You are also the Genius that said Middle TN Basketball(Celina) plays better Defense than Memphis. Most folks don't really know the Difference between Mom & Pop Teams & Top Club Teams And the Gold & Silver Teams on ADIDAS Circuit can hoop with just about any of the Top Clubs. Not All but nearly all. I been on all 3 Shoe Circuits, the difference between the Shoe Circuit Teams & Teams like TN Bobcats is like comparing girls basketball to boys basketball, folks may not want to hear that but it the Truth

Correct. TN Bobcats is Not a Club. In today's Summer Hoops Landscape most of the Better Players hoop on the NIKE,ADDIDAS & UNDER ARMOUR Circuit. I do know that the Bobcats played in the ADIDAS Invitational in Indianapolis ( open event to non-shoe teams) and weren't competitive. But they are a solid local team

I hear you & agree with you. Consistent competion level matters to all kids. Truth is in Single A ball you rerely get solid comp consistently & in some areas you rarely see good comp in 3A. Penny didn't average 40 per game, Lebron didn't,Bird didn't , MJ didn't , etc,etc. Don't think anyone is picking on any particular kid, just a discussion & that's what this forum is, a discussion forum. It is extremely weak competition in that area of the State. A,AA,AAA, All Bad/ Good Player, Shoots a ton of layups,but should be in discussion

Easton Upchurch of Maryville TN Averaging in the Mid 20's in Scoring (always gets best defender or doubled) Shoots above 50% from 3 Shoots above 60% from inside arc Averaging 6+ Rebs Averaging 4+ assist Averaging 3+ steals Team is Winning

48-47?. Yes I would say that is very weak. I have seen these teams play, Uppermans is very vulnerable at the Guards position, but I would bet they will beat Macon by 20 or more next game, 48-47?, Who in the Grand Scheme of things thinks you will survive playing like that when the competition tightens up? You better hope that your region is really bad in order to get to Sub-State. That being said, best of Luck to you and your team the rest of the way

In other words baby the kids, god forbid someone gets in their a** and demands their best....Folks don't want the truth, they only want to hear or see what makes them feel good. Also, Folks tend to judge others by their bad days while judging themselves only by the good days. That being said I am not 100% sure as to what happened, always to sides to any story & sometimes passion can be confused for something else. But if I had a Nickel for every time I have been grabbed,pushed,pulled & cursed by a Coach or someone of Authority/ Higher Rank, I would be a Rich Person.
