  1. Where were the NCS's 6 D1 SEC players tonight? If there was even one legit D1 player this would have been a different outcome. I know, I know they already have offers, have committed, etc. Whatever...this NCS team dominated in 1A football, well not in every game in 1A football - can someone say 33 yards of offense and time of possession only 11.23? Yes NCS can dominate against all the 5'6" 145 pound players. But wait until these boys go up against true D1 talent, you know the ones that dominate in 5A and 6A. All I can say is, your coach must have great connections to get these players recruited. With this performance tonight, all the D1 talk is a joke. Sorry, being realistic. After seeing players go on to play at Florida, Stanford, Virginia Tech, etc., I guarantee you these players will never play a down in the SEC. On a positive note, congrats to UC and my apologies for picking NCS to win. I admit, even I was caught up in the whole NCS frenzy with the talk of all that D1 talent. What is funny, I bet UC doesn't even have one D1 player and yet they demolished a team with the Ole Miss commit and all the other "D1" players. Bahahahahahahaha what a joke. Nope, not jealous, just keeping it real.
  2. Sunbright vs Greenback Coalfield vs Cloudland Midway vs Monterey South Pitt vs Copper Hill Columbia Academy vs Clarksville Academy WC vs NCS Dresdon vs Union City Tiptonville vs Bruceton Picks are highlighted.
  3. Yep I made a mistake predicting Clarksville Academy would upset NCS. I had only seen NCS play once this season and it was the two quarters they didn't play their best I guess. But after seeing them week 10, I have no doubt that when these two meet again next week (sticking to CA North getting the W Friday), I see the same outcome of NCS winning...this time by a little less, say by 2 TDs. But back to the North CA vs South CA battle, I just don't see the South getting the W. Call me crazy but unless they have drastically improved since a scrimmage I saw them play in, continue to think Columbia Academy is overrated. Humor me with this...if by chance South CA does win Friday and NCS beats WC, do you really think Columbia Academy has any chance of beating NCS? Now that game would be a blow out!
  4. Agree that NCS hasn't faced tough competition this season especially when hardest opponent was Clarksville Academy. However, after seeing them play, they seem to have what no other team in 1A has, depth. Don't know how a small 1A school manages to get a team reminiscent of 4A or 5A schools, but they got it. WC is tough and will be the first true test for NCS this season. Taking into account that both teams have talented coaches and players, have to be realistic though...NCS wins by a least one TD.
  5. Don't buy what computer match up says...Clarksville Academy (North CA) will easily beat Columbia Academy (South CA) Friday night. Then will come the true challenge for North CA when they have to face either WC or NCS. At that point, North CA's season will likely come to an end. Although... if WC gets the W, North CA could possibly pull the upset especially since both teams suffer from depth issues. But just looking at this week, it will be North CA by 14+. South CA is just too overrated. And with the cold and chance for snow, I see the #1 seed choking.
  6. Does TSSAA limit the length of the cleats to a half inch? Or can players use three quarter inch cleates?
  7. Quad 1 Sunbright & Coalfield Quad 2 Midway & South Pitt Quad 3 Wayne County & Clarksville Academy Quad 4 Dresdan & Lake Co
  8. Disagree. Still think CA pulls out the win tomorrow night. And if they do get the W, they handily beat Columbia Academy next week. Why do I think this...no I am not high as a poster asked before, just heard that Clarksville Academy beat Columbia Academy in the preseason scrimmage plus they get 2-3 two way starters back this week who have been out with injuries. Should I be so bold to say that with the addition of these players, could the outcome of the NCS and Clarksville Academy rematch week 3 (provided NCS beats WC next week) be different? Everyone awake now???
  9. Hope you are right. Much better football watching when it is a close game.
  10. I would say stop trying to be nice but I get it. Everyone at CA including you is high fiving themselves because they know this is NOT going be a "highly competitive game." CA got a 1st and 2nd round pass in this bracket and Friday night will be like playing McEwen, East Rob or HC this season. Huntland may be 8-1 but who have they played? Exactly.
  11. That is cool but the website has it wrong. CA wins against Huntland by a blow out and then does the same thing to Columbia Academy. The real test will come in round 3 against NCS? At that point, CA loses by a couple TDs. Don't think it will be as ugly as last week but don't think the Cougars can pull an upset.
  12. NCSdad1962, the NCS basher is here to disagree with the posters you mention that think WC and Columbia Academy are better than NCS. Whatever, UC and NCS are the teams to beat. And will be excited to see the six D1 players perform on the field again. Sorry I missed that. If you are correct and really have that many legit D1 players, well NCS is the luckiest and most stacked team in 1A. Not bashing just stating the obvious. With that much talent no way are you the 3-4 TD underdogs.
  13. Agree. That is why I have said that Clarksville Academy easily gets to 3rd round to face NCS (provided NCS doesn't get knocked out in the 2nd round).
  14. Agree...saw NCS play and didn't see 6 legit D1 players. They have a 6'6" kid who was good, most likely being recruited due to his size. One of the other D1 players is listed as one of the top recruits in the state but saw him miss a block on a 5'4" 150 pound player. Not saying he isn't good because he really is. Just didn't see 6 D1 players on the field. Players coming from 1A will face a much more competitive level of play in D1 or even DII or D111 than they are used to playing. Back to the thread of 1A Quad 4, this is UC's to win and I predict a match up between UC and NCS to get to the final two. Whoever wins between UC and NCS will easily will win the gold.
  15. CA is fortunate with the bracket placement and not until round 3 will they face a tough team in NCS (assuming NCS advances, which unless half the team gets injured or comes down with the flu, is a safe assumption). Have stated before a team like CA has greatly benefited from the down level of competition in their district and across 1A. But want to say after seeing them play Friday night against NCS, they are a good little team. They appear to be well coached, have lots of fans, and even when down, don't give up. Predicting CA wins easily and big over Huntland and then beats Columbia Academy as well without much effort.
  16. Congrats to NCS for a convincing win Friday night. NCS got lucky with a few face masks and holding calls missed by refs but would that have made a difference in the outcome...no way. NCS has the depth most if not all the other schools in 1A are missing which makes them hard to beat. But I have to give a shout out to CA for having the lead and hanging with NCS the first half. Those boys fought hard. Towards the end I was disappointed with how out of control both teams seemed to get. Emotions were running high, mouths were running and it started to go beyond physical to violent. I just wish the refs would have taken more control. Again congrats to NCS. I will eat my words now as I predicted the score would be closer and CA might pull the upset. I have no doubt these two teams will meet again in round 3. CA got lucky with their bracket and have two easy teams to go through until they meet the Eagles again.
  17. I agree 9aafan. It is hard to pick other than NCS on these threads. NCS is a strong team but CA has momentum and really think it is going to be a close game. Even if CA loses tonight with so many cupcake teams these two will meet again in 2nd or 3rd round.
  18. Either you really think a lot of your team or you are making a joke. No way NCS beats CA by 70. It is going to be a close game and might even be an upset. Will come down to team with less mistakes, the offense that makes the plays and the defense that keeps points off the board. NCS 14 CA 16 Both teams will score but CA will go for 2.
  19. A lot is being said about NCS defense, but what about the offense? Offense seems to be CA's strength. Going to be a good game tomorrow night by two well coached teams. May come down to who makes less mistakes and officiating. Don't see a mercy rule. Do see the two meeting again in the 2nd round.
  20. He might be hiding out after making the thread that some CA players lead the state in stats. Don't think he realized that not every team reports. Still think it is going to be a battle Friday night.
  21. kenmynattcpa: That is assuming CA has to play NCS in the 1st round. If CA faces another team first, I see a second meeting of NCS and CA in the 2nd round. Does anyone know how the seeding will work...who between NCS and Columbia Academy will get the bye?
  22. NCSdad1962. Made that comment based on being at your game against McEwen. Only saw 1st half, left when it was 14-0. Realize final score more lopsided of 49-0 but what I saw wasn't the NCS everyone has been talking about since week 0. Don't get me wrong, NCS is the strongest contender in the district but as a whole,1A just isn't the same as in years past. Do I think NCS has a great shot of being the final two, absolutely. I even think NCS may win it all this year. But I stand by that it may not be a total blow out Friday night against CA. Could be wrong, but could be right.
