  1. Exactly why I think RW wins, they can mix it up more imho. OHS will have success running some as well as RW but it's going to wear on both, depth will be a factor. Both are going to have to get the qb out of the pocket some and pass blocking, getting open, and each passing D too will be key for both. OHS needs to get some good yardage running and slip a TE screen in along with some PA and quick hitter passes.
  2. I didn't know that, glad to see he recovered! He's been starting the last 2 years and played a lot as a Sophomore. Still think it's going to be a close game but RW's senior skill players getting it done: McClain(#4), Garrett(#41) and Price(#7) with what looks to be with a very solid/athletic Sophomore QB #12 Brackett who can sling the ball.
  3. #4 McCain is listed at 6'3 215 - #41 Garrett is listed as 6'2 230 on the RHS Alumni Association site. http://rhsfootballalumni.com/CurrentRoster.asp
  4. I think it will be really close but Rockwood has just enough success passing with both teams keying on the others' run game. It will be a good either way, possibly an OT game. Rockwood [27] - Oneida [20]. Replay will be on WBNT_com/OVC(Oneida Cable Video) the next day. http://www.wbnt.com/ocv/ocv-live/
  5. Have to say to do that York's coaching staff has poor sportsmanship and on top of it silly to leave 1s in with the game in hand risking injury against 2s. Glad the Indians got the score on them! Did Oneida hurt their feelings in the past or do something in the game to P them off? lol
  6. Yep you never know until the game is played. I thought Scott would get beat by GP but they got the W. Each game is different and a lot of it can depend on coaching schemes and the strategy going into each one, and purely sometimes who ready and wants the W more! Oneida I think would need to make YORK play their type of game controlling the ball with their run game, eating up the clock with long drives and getting the D off the field to win. Hopefully they play their best game so far in 2017! We'll get to see their next opponent Rockwood tonight against Harriman a team they've already played which will help prepare them mentally for the next week against Rockwood which I'm sure TL already has a game plan somewhat ready for them. I'm glad WBNT/Oneida Cable Channel started showing the game's video broadcasts the next day on the net. I do not have the local cable and usually can't make it to games on Friday especially away. Here is the link for anyone interested in watching the Indians' games: http://www.wbnt.com/ocv/ocv-live/ I think they show them 3 times on Saturday -morning, evening and night(10pm?) The schedule isn't on the site but will show in between local ads. I usually watch it through MS Edge for the best video results. Go Indians!
  7. I'm taking YORK in this one, saw some highlights and that CF just edged them 34-20 which CF beat Harriman 48-7, Oneida beat Harriman 13-7. I know score comparisons isn't really a great way to pick but i think YORK has too much for the Indians on both sides of the ball. IMHO Oneida will play some good D but it isn't going to be enough at least after the 1st quarter, and Indians will not score much. YORK by 21. Oneida [13] - YORK [34]. May be worse than that I'm sorry to say as I'm an Oneida fan.
  8. I thought after the last GP score to tie, "here comes OT", which hasn't been nice to GP. Rough schedule the rest of the way for them but I think they have a shot against Pigeon Forge and Kingston. GO HIGHLANDERS!
  9. Scott [34] - GP [28] Was listening, sounded like a very hard fought game! Congrats to Scott getting their first win and hats off to GP for a great effort! I really expected GP to win this week, the big Scott lead at the start of the game was just enough to keep them in it with a late TD with 30 seconds left and kept it from going to OT. Best wishes to both Highlander teams the rest of season.
  10. Yeah I saw that the other day and forgot to post it. RT can't make their mind up, lol, they've been changing the schedule since I first posted this thread in March. August 17th Anderson Co. @ Carter August 19th Bearden @ West* August 24th Morristown East @ Jefferson Co. August 31st Morristown West @ Farragut September 7th Bearden @ South-Doyle September 14th South-Doyle @ Sevier Co. September 21st Rockwood @ Harriman September 28th Rhea Co. @ Catholic October 5th Greenback @ Coalfield October 12th Maryville @ Ooltewah October 19th Central @ South-Doyle October 26th Farragut @ Hardin Valley TheOgre78 Disclaimer : *Schedule may change at any moment*. -LOL, like I said before, I'm glad I put "so far" in the OP!
  11. Scott [21] - GP [17] at halftime. Scott lost "A LOT" from last year all their starting skill players except one WR I think, no one in the backfield was a starter from 2016 and are mostly Juniors and Sophomores, just a few(literally) Seniors I believe. They've had some good teams the last 4 or 5 years. Their really down this year, not close to their recent average teams. Might be a video broadcast on http://www.wbnt.com/ocv/ocv-live/ ("WBNT - Oneida Cable Video" channel 4) tomorrow if their site's player is working(it's not at the moment, idk why). It was working last time I checked the other day.
  12. I'm still here! Just enjoying the silence before the storm. Waiting to see the site scoreboard changing numbers. Scott 90s Alumni. I think there is at least one of member that might have went to Scott too, "Bear"(Thought maybe HMS Bears) something but haven't seen any post this year. I watch Scott & Oneida. BTW, haven't seen a Oneida vs Claiborne thread. May have to start one real fast. Also wbnt_com has been showing Oneida Cable Video TV cable station's regular broadcast. I think the games are live depending who they broadcast first but they do a replay of the 2nd team's game so they should show Scott-Clinton after Oneida. They show broadcasts the next day I belive but I'm not sure of the schedule. I do not have the local tv and their site schedule is vague(no mention of the games or other programing I've seen on).
  13. 8/17 - Anderson County @ Carter 8/19 - Bearden @ West 8/24 - Mo East @ Jefferson County 8/31 - Mo West @ Farragut 9/7 - Bearden @ South-Doyle 9/14 - South-Doyle @ Sevier County 9/21 - Rockwood @ Harriman 9/28 - Rhea County at Catholic 10/5 - Greenback @ Coalfield 10/12 - Maryville @ Ooltewah 10/19 - Knox Central @ South-Doyle 10/26 - Farragut @ Hardin Valley Academy I'm not sure when Coalfield @ Oliver Springs was changed but it was replaced with Knox Central @ South-Doyle. Anderson County @ Carter this Thursday, almost time to start the season!
  14. Thanks for pointing out the site. GB looked really good! And wow that 4th down call by the refs, lol, I know it's preseason but that was awful. The fans were really letting them have it and deserved it. Anyway was very impressed by what I saw from GB.
  15. I'm not a fan of either the spread or Wing-T myself. The problem I have with the spread is you need a good amount of certain type of skill players to run it like Scott last year, they had the QB, WRs, OL, RBs and etc to be able use it effectively but then this year it's a different story, if your missing any of those key elements it can mess the whole offense up. And the Wing-T I just think it's a "run well or not" offense, a lot depends on your OL-RBs, it can wear on players and it's not hard to defend with the right D personel especially if you struggle running the ball which definitely is not going to help the passing game making it really predictable. Each year is different as far as each team's talents or lack of in areas or overall and if teams do not have type of players needed to run those specific formations/plays coaches end up having to limit their playing calling in comparison to past years and what they normally run not being to open it up. Yeah, I thought that going in they would keep it simple. OHS seems to do that anyway, more of a basic Offense & D, here we come can you stop us offense. I was just wondering if they seemed to struggle in any certain area or if Kingston might be playing better than expected. Not trying to keep mixing the 3A/4A in the 1A/2A section but how did Clinton vs Kingston go? I never really heard a score result or how each did exactly.
  16. How did it play out in the OHS vs Scrimmage? Did OHS move the ball but not score or struggle and how was their D? Dragon thought OHS was the better looking team and I really expected them compete and possibly beat Kingston who many said aren't that great but they won 7-0(?).
  17. I think Oneida will have a really good team this year though they lost some key players they always seem to have someone ready to take a position over. The OL/DL has some sizable players, the QB/RBs/Wrs look good with a solid D. Plus their well coached and hungry every year. I'm not saying they'll beat Coalfield but I expect them to give the teams on their schedule all they can handle. I'm really wish I could make it, I think the 2nd qtr against Kingston will be the highlight of the Jamboree.
  18. Yeah if I'm not mistaken they only had 2 starters(?) back on the OL, 1 I think (#78?) got injured mid-season, I believe from what I saw in the other scrimmages 2 on OL is Juniors(going by last years football preview newspaper) and maybe a Sophomore. When I watched the Rhea Co - AC highlights on MaxP AC had some good success throwing on them and they threw a lot it seemed, like 2-1 pass-run ratio. Thanks for the updates!
  19. A family member was speaking with a lady around 2pm about Scott and she said she is going watch them play AC today.
  20. Yep, a young unexperienced team and not enough returning players in key skill positions like QB/RB, but not that there isn't talent, athleticism and sizable players plus they seem to look like a hungry/scrappy group just overall I don't think they'll be able to stop teams with experience and several skill players. Where I think they could give Clinton trouble is If the Highlanders can stop the run forcing them to throw and eat up the clock with lengthy drives then I think it could be close but if they give up runs in chunks and Clinton slips a few pass plays in at the right time it might be a long 2nd half. And as far as Hall it would tough to fill his shoes about any year, aswell as Byrge at RB, Roden, JoBen Terry at WR, even the back-up QB played really great but when Hall was in there it just added a whole new level to their team's game.
  21. Via RHS Football Alumni's Facebook Page 7/24: The 2017 Jamboree will be held on Friday, August 11 and will begin at 7:30 @ Rockwood High School. The quarters will be 15 minutes in length. The playing order will be as follows: First Quarter: Harriman vs Scott County Second Quarter: Kingston vs Oneida Third Quarter: Midway vs Oneida Fourth Quarter: Rockwood vs Oliver Springs The Roane County schools will be the home team and wear dark colored jerseys. Oliver Springs will wear the dark colored jerseys and use the visitors sideline.
  22. Yeah, please if you get to go give your impression of the team. I knew they play Harriman at Rockwood's Jamboree 8/11 @7:30pm. FYI for anyone wondering/interested in attending it: First Quarter: Harriman vs Scott CountySecond Quarter: Kingston vs OneidaThird Quarter: Midway vs Oneida Fourth Quarter: Rockwood vs Oliver Springs Prediction wise I'm just going on what little highlights I've seen from scrims. I know what everyone says about scrimmages but I know Scott is a young team with not a lot of game experience/returning key starters. Maybe my prediction was early but I'll stick with it until I see or hear more. From what I saw their hit and miss at times but it's fall practice. I did see Rockwood and Seymour passing on them with some success but Scott seemed to have an okay run defense but again that's the few plays I saw online. I haven't seen any real offensive play highlights expect a pass or two and some basic run plays in those scrimmages.
