  1. Looks like rain may cover the game. None of the media across the state give the Commanders a chance. That only fuels the fire. The Davidson faithful lay their hopes on their Mr. Football QB and their Mr. Football finalist RB. My guess is that the Commander D will show up with some attitude. Being the underdog while defending State will ignite some energy from Possum Town. Looking for a safe but fierce game on the gridiron in Cookeville at 11am. Safe Travels and see you all there.
  2. Interesting. Please share with us the basis of your prediction?
  3. The FCS defense shocked Fayette Academy and is looking to defend their 2017 Championship by going back to back. Davidson brings a perfect record to Cookeville. Fayette put up 56 points on Davidson when they met earlier in the season. This should be a good game.
  4. Not much better than Thanksgiving Morning football practice!
  5. These two teams will provide a great game to watch on Dec 2. The FC squad is lead by a group of seniors that love each other and play for each other. Their mental toughness rivals their physicality. They are a complete package on both sides of the ball. As the season has progressed, the defense has continued to get better. The secondary has dialed it in and comes into the state game with 19 interceptions on the year. The MLB, Carman, has a school record 147 tackles while one of his OLB counterparts has 20 tackles for loss. DCAs quarterback is a gamer. He will leave nothing on the field and is sure to run and gun on the big stage in Cookeville. I was impressed with #22s ground attack against Davidson, but believe that the Dline and line backing corps of FC will be more stingy than Davidson. While I agree with my friend, PC, that the turnover gifts were welcomed in the first meeting and helpful, I believe that the FC squad has grown stronger and more hungry as the season has progressed. I look for #3 for FC to put on a strong performance behind his OLine. He is a game changer. I do believe the fist meeting was closer than the score suggests and beating the same team, of this caliber, in the same season is a tough hurdle. I believe FC is up to the challenge. I look forward to seeing my DCA buddies on the sidelines for another great battle between old rivals.
  6. The FC Oline showed up in the 2nd half as did the Defense. FC had no quit in them and it appeared that NCS was not prepared for the continued pounding that FC withstood. What an incredible game! There was definitely danger lurking when the ball was in the air. FC had four pics on the night. This is an FC squad that has 19 pics now on the year. Their overall skill play is beyond any team in the Division. FC's 80 yard pass play was not what NCS was expecting. NCS is a great football team. This was one of the best high school football games I have seen in several years. Hats off to NCS on a great season.
  7. If DCA plays defense, this will be an upset.
  8. The FC 2011 team was fun to watch. Filled with studs on both sides of the ball. A complete team from the start to finish. Great kicker and punter. Dominant Oline and total team speed. The 2012 team won state again but with a much more balanced attack with a QB that could scramble and throw. Again with great team speed and dominant OLine. Multiple running backs on both teams. This years team is just different. They are a complete team. They play gritty and have moxy. They play with a purpose and for one another. They will not quit. They believe. They will be prepared for this game.
  9. Agreed. TKA played a very phsical game against FC. Both LBs are players. Lusby was all over the field. Look for him to get more carries in this NCS game. He is a punishing runner. I was impressed with the defensive play of #77 for TKA. He has great feet and his pursuit to the ball was strong. I look for TKA to give NCS a game. The TKA RB did not play in the FC game. His film play is impressive. While I agree that Hylick will get his yards, the MJCA defense will struggle to slow down the DA offense. Going to be some great football from here on out. Congrats to all the players that have worked so hard to get here! May they play with a full heart and enjoy injury free games.
  10. TKA enjoyed much better play out of their line last week as well as their defense. Their two LBs, especially Lusby, played well. #77 was aggressive and played hard. They are a solid ball team. Looking forward to seeing MTCS tomorrow night and to see what TKA does with DCA.
  11. MTCS comes to Possum Town Friday night for a battle of ground and pound. Who do you like?
  12. I believe DA wins this one. My understanding is that it is now the WUXP MY TV 30 game of the week.
  13. Another Regional matchup as King's Academy travels to FC to take on the Commanders. King's only loss has come from Greenback and FC is undefeated. Can King's stop the OLine and rushing attack of FC?
  14. Don't think the underdog had much fun last night.
  15. Last year they ran Collier who has graduated. I don't recall Hylick rushing. If so, it was a few touches with no effect. Score was 28-0.
  16. MJCA is coming off a come from behind Region win against MTCS. FC was on cruise control last week against Ezell Harding. FC gave MJCA their only shut out last year. Cross County rivalry goes down in Possum Town Friday night. I say the Commanders move to 7-0.
  17. MTCS travels to MJCA this Friday. MJCA is coming off their first loss of the season to King's and MTCS is coming off a big win against Ezell Harding. Who do you have in this one?
  18. First half was messy. FC had three first half fumbles and like Playerscoach said, DCA mishandled a punt. FC managed to stay in the game and went in at halftime down by 1. FC recovered the opening kickoff and played a much more fundamentally sound 2nd half. I have to commend the FC O line as the ground game produced 350 yards and another 98 in the air. DCA's QB is a gamer. Great ability to scramble and throw with accuracy on the move. Great road win for the Commanders.
  19. I believe this will be a close game. Both teams will come prepared with a solid plan of attack. Turnovers were an issue for DCA last week. FC's defense has done a good job of creating turnovers thus far and I expect that to continue this Friday. Both squad's have a solid senior class and understand the impact this game has as the season progresses. I believe that the O line for FC will play even harder with #3 being out this week. Senior RB #22 is back in action. This rivalry always produces a great contest. I hope both teams have a hard fought, injury free game. I believe FC edges this one out, even without #3.
  20. The Commanders head to Donelson to take on the wildcats for what may ultimately be the region championship. Who is your favorite in this longstanding rivalry?
  21. Two FC backs combined for 236 yards rushing while compiling a total of 302 yards on the ground. FC's first score was a 15 yard pass play. The FC Oline was too much for the Cougars. Score was 21-0, FC going into the 4th. While GP moved the ball at times with the passing game, they also gave up two picks one of which was a 70 yard TD return. The Cougars fought hard and never gave up. Wish them the best as they move forward.
