  1. Does this mean that Wavo will have to find a new team to hate on for no reason? LOL
  2. Actually the headline was "Camden Smacks Dawgs 34-13". You can't expect it to be pretty when you have two interceptions AND two fumbles that were recovered by the Lions. You can't make mistakes and expect to stay in the game with Camden. Hopefully, we will have a better game vs. Fairview this Friday. It has been downright ugly to watch the last few years. Perhaps this year will be different... Hope both teams have an injury free game.
  3. All seems ok in Hickman...so far so good. Wavo, you do have a heart...(just kiddin' with ya)
  4. There is no "excuse" as to why Camden beat Hickman Co. Anytime you have two interceptions and multiple fumbles you will not win...especially against a team like Camden. They have size, speed and intensity. We certainly did not play our best game against them, and they turned our mistakes into points. It was a clean game. The loss delivered to our team was solid. I haven't seen Waverly play, but think the Lions will come away with at least a 2 TD victory this Friday.
  5. Boys, Boys, Boys....I think we need to get you your own thread so you can share your passion in privacy. The Bulldogs do not have the luxury to even think about Waverly at this point. The Fairview Team will be a force to be reckoned with and deserve 100% of the Dawgs' focus...and then some. Personally, I am still waiting for our break-out game. To date, we haven't played well...just well enough to win a few times. If that continues we will come up short next Friday night. I hope we have great weather, great competition and zero injuries for both teams. Fairview is always a challenge and we have certainly not performed well against them, especially the past few years as we have had our respective tails handed to us. Hopefully this year will be different. Most of the players know each other and have been playing against each other since Jr. Pro days. Great young men on both sides. I look forward to the game.
  6. Lewis County is a very good team and is always well coached. They will be extra motivated after their loss last week...that's what good teams do. Fairview better be ready to play the best game of their season so far, in order to keep it close. Then again, in this district on any given Friday, there will most likely be many surprises over the next 5 weeks...no one should be discounted with the caliber of teams we have competing this year. There is no way not to enjoy this particular season if you love the sport. Hats off to all the young men workin' hard and providing the entertainment.
  7. Not under my skin at all young man...just encouraging the other team in our county. I don't like seeing any team without some wins on their scorecard...not good for any program. We'll worry about Waverly in a few weeks...until then, the Tigers aren't our focus.
  8. East has as much of a chance to beat Waverly as any other team in this district. They do have talent. East has played good teams very competitively already this season. Let's go Eagles - don't beat yourselves - you have nothing to lose in going out there and giving Waverly a battle. I have confidence that you can come away with a BIG WIN! You can't complete this season with an undefeated record, but you can most certainly make sure that Waverly doesn't either. Be the SPOILER!
  9. How are these two teams matching up defensively? Overall, Hickman has not played very well thus far, just good enough to get the "W". Our boys will have to step up this week in order to walk away with their record intact. Our O line is improving every week and we have some bright spots on our D line, but continuous improvement week over week is a must at every position. We have a chance to have a strong season...it's up to the coaches at this point to use what they have to give us the best advantage. I will say this for this year's team...we have zero drama, everyone playing for each other and trying to do the right things. However, we are at a turning point in our schedule....we either step up or step off. We have the ability thanks to our O & D lines working hard and our backs being talented, but we have to dig deep and not make silly mistakes.
  10. Reckon' we could stop worrying about who has the "biggest" trophy and actually talk about our respective talent match ups for the week? I understand that everyone is proud of their "Glory Days"...myself included, but all our schools have a talented, disciplined group of young men with passionate coaches that are ready to bust some heads. How are the two teams matching up in total yards per game, pass completions, tackle leaders, etc.? Let this be about the fine young men on the team this season that have earned the right to play for their respective schools. We have a very exciting district this year...I think any team could win on any given Friday. That hasn't happened in this district in a LONG time. That, my friends, is something to talk about!
  11. Prayers from Hickman County for your boys and their families
