  1. I was picking Rockwood in this one, but I really don't know now. These teams are so good on both sides of the ball. It's gonna come down to a buzzer beater or one team's mistake. There's very little room for error tonight. This game is worth paying 5$ but not worth playing in Midway's "arena". It was so packed last night I thought LeBron James was playing and ESPN was there to broadcast it. It was crazy. And parking was bad too..... And for Goosevol's statement on how to beat Cosby's, he's right. Ledbetter pretty much blew the game open for Cosby last night with a T and then a Intentional. But Cosby has their hands full tonight. As the old saying goes, it's hard to beat a team 3 consecutive times. Good Luck to both teams, and hey, at least you guys get to play in sectionals.. GO 'KEES!!!! ( in baseball )
  2. McGaha ends up with 31, with the freshman Blakely chipping in 10. Payne had his usual night, dropping 24 and a pair of treys. Kreis had 13. Cosby 65 Harriman 59 Tonight's game vs. Rockwood will be a little more interesting.
  3. Who's gonna get the homecourt advantage in the sectionals? This game will more than likely come down to a buzzer beater. Cosby won both games this year. Opinions on this game?? I've got to go with Rockwood by 2. I think Gallaher might be to much and might have the game of his life again. Davis could be a problem down low, but I think Blakely can stop him. Cosby 70 Rockwood 72 ....in OT. But, having the luck that I do, Cosby will probably end up winning and take the sectionals back to the NEST. [Edited by GHSgozz22 on 3-7-03 1:23P]
  4. Who dat talkin' bout beatin dem Eagles? Well, not Harriman. Cosby 65 Harriman 59 Harriman was in control of the game and leading during the first half. Cosby looked like they were gonna get shell shocked. But no, Cosby and their die-hard fans came storming back. I really think Harriman could have pulled it off if it wasn't for that Ledbetter kid and that Technical and Intentional foul he got. McGaha stuck the shots and Cosby pulled away. I think Payne had at least 20. He was unstoppable in the paint. Does anyone know how many points Mark ended up with? I know he scored Cosby's first 10 points. Glad to see Ford back, he hit some big shots and almost tied it at halftime with a steal and quick 3. Once again, this is hard, but congrats Cosby from a Greenback/Hiwassee baller. GO 'KEES!!!! ( in baseball )
  5. My prediction on this game is that Rockwood is P.O'ed about losing to Wartburg and will come out ON FIRE. But this is basketball and anything is possible. I've got Rockwood by at least 12. Gallaher might have the game of his life.
  6. Havens - Greenback McGaha - Cosby Humphrey - Maryville T. Hall - Loudon Golden - William Blount Kent Black from Cosby is the best shooter in the state
  7. Here's my picks: Cosby Rockwood CCS Temple Hancock
  8. This will come down to the wire, unless Kent Black has 8 three pointers again. BUT i think Cosby will prevail. they have so much depth and their bench players can ball. i'll give Harriman credit, but Cosby will take this one. If i do go to the game, i'll be rooting for the eagles. Cosby 78 Harriman 72 with Darren Payne dropping 25+
  9. Should be a good game Thursday between these 2. Even though I don't really like Cosby (and losing to them), I REALLY don't like Harriman. If I come to the game, I'll be cheering for The Eagles, Mark. GO 'KEES!!! ( in baseball )
  10. Congratulations goes out to Rockwood and to Coach Kamikawa. My prediction is that the region championship will be played with Rockwood and Cosby going head-2-head.
  11. That was a good first half game. Coalfield came out firing, but the Eagles fired back. The starting 5 for the Jackets played with a lot of heart but Cosby was just to much. No wait a minute, Kent Black was just to much. If he wasn't playing this game probably would have went down to the wire. I played against him last year and he didn't impress me that much, but that has all changed. I have to hand it to the Jackets, they put up an OK fight until late in the second half, when Cosby and Kent Black exploded. Being from Greenback, this is hard to say, but Congrats Cosby. Harriman will hopefully put a fight the whole game. And by the way, what happened to Josh Ford? He was dressed out last night but didn't play. PEACE GO 'KEES!!!! ( in baseball )
  12. Great game Cosby. I thought Greenback would come a lot more ready than they were. We played good for the first 6 or 7 minutes, then the Eagles started rolling. Cosby's bench is so deep it's hard to play with them. Coach Flatford has done a great job with these guys. Hopefully GHS will meet them again in the Region Tourn, but we have to go through Rockwood first. Good win Cosby, and where does # 10 take dance lessons at?!?! Good Luck next game 'Kees!!!
  13. how do you guys think this one will go?
  14. Dollywood? if Havens brings his A game he'll put a leash on the SuperBeast and turn him into a little puppy. McGaha is good, no doubt, but I think EH brings more to the table. but hey, that's just my opinion. as for the game, it's questionable. i have a class wed. night in oak ridge, but i might skip and go cheer on the 'Kees. i think their might be a upset brewing (knock on wood). what are your thoughts on the game CosbyEagle? i think it should be a close game, good D from both teams, but i'm pullin for my boys. from past experiances and watching hoops all the time, i've come to find out it is extremely difficult to beat a team 3 times. Greenback-70 Cosby-68 in OT hopefully EVERYONE will come ready to play GO 'KEES!!! Who dat talkin about beatin dem Eagles?? GREENBACK
  15. Great stroke, handles, D, everything. He Got Game. are any colleges recruiting Mark????
  16. BBALLTN, i can't remember anyone beating Cosby that bad at the Nest. The Clippers couldnt even get that close, well.....nevermind. I think Cosby has them. Cosby by 4 in OT.
  17. This game should be a thriller, but my money is on Cosby since they are playing at the Eagles' Nest, but you never know when it comes to hoops. CAK did defeat Cosby at CAK's sorry excuse for a gym earlier this season. With a win on Tuesday night, #5 ranked Cosby ties their district with CAK, at 7-1. But CAK has a tough battle ahead beating Cosby at the Nest. It's super tough to beat them their, and I know this from experience. Not only are the players good, but the FANS will annoy the crap out of you and it's LOUD in there. Good luck to both teams. Any more opinions on this game?? Cosby by 8.
  18. Eric Havens - Greenback Tremon Hall- Loudon Jake Skogen - Temple Lee Humphrey - Maryville Jonathan Johnson - William Blount
  19. Tonight the Greenback Cherokees will host their district 3A rivals Cosby Eagles. So the first game Cosby won by TKO but my opinion on this game is that Greenback will be more ready and tougher. Plus, they'll have to student section being the 6th man out there. Should be a crowded gym tonight. Any more thoughts and opinions before the big game tonight? GO 'KEES!!
  20. We took it easy on him twice last year.......2 of the best victories of my high school career. And did you know CosbyEagle, that Greenback had NEVER EVER in school history beat Cosby at the Nest since Cosby has been in our district?? Catch you at the game friday. GO KEES!
  21. havens took about as many shots as he usually does. most of them just weren't fallin for him and it wasn't a good night for him. he could score 50 a night if he wanted to. but he's one of these guys coaches like to call "team players". but you, being the great basketball analyst that you are, probably didn't take that into consideration. kevin hall did play good defense, but it wasn't as great as your crackin it up to be. Cosby as a TEAM played great defense in the second half. Greenback had their offense going and the game was close at halftime. Then Cosby ran away with it. and i'll hand it to Cosby, they played a great game. hopefully this friday will be different. my boys will be ready.
  22. CosbyEagle- i can't believe you remember that guy. that's one of my best friends, dustin burnett. he was one of Flatfords favorite students! he played football and he was at EVERY game cheering us on. he's on the best fans we've ever had!! well, that'll be me this year at the Cosby game at Greenback. hopefully they (CHS) won't be able to throw it in the ocean and we (GHS) can pull of a victory. hopefully this game will be like last years game, with Greenback coming out on top and a long busride back to Cosby for Mr. Flatford. where will you be sitting CosbyEagle?
  23. We were down at halftime. I remember Raines hit a load of 3's and he was killin us. Girls game starts at 6 I thought. Are you gonna be there COSBY EAGLE??
  24. Loco, it's VERY hard to play on the road, ESPECIALLY at Cosby. that place is a madhouse. but it's fun as well. they have some great fans, if you play for Cosby. and it is possible to win there, Greenback did last year. not by much though. different story this year, but that's another topic. HCHS will have their hands full when they play them. CosbyEagle, did you see GHS play Cosby last year at the Eagles' Nest???
