Hey man, I could not help but read the soap opera on the other thread. I believe that the SP program will come through. Every team has ups and downs. Basin has had their share that is a fact. I cant wait until next season and look forward to years to come. It is and has always been a challenge to play South Pitt. To be the best you got to beat the best. No other way than to play SP every year. I don't care what everybody is saying right now. History speaks for itself.

Don't know if I will get to post again today so I want to say this before the game tonight. I am proud of these boys. I appreciate the effort they have given this season. I am as nervous as a cat with two tails in a room full of rocking chairs too. I may have to eat crow, but it wont be the first time, and besides its packed with protein and believe it or not, it tastes nothing like chicken. The thing about football at Basin is its not about having the best equipment, cause we don't. Its not about fancy locker rooms or an exquisite field house. We have not ever been given those kinds of things. Its about heart. Its always been about heart. We stand together as a team, individuals united under one cause, each other These boys get that. They don't quit. The community is proud of them and you can hear the talk around town. No we aint got the best that money can buy, and most people look down their nose at the boys from the mountains, but its good to see we still like to play smashmouth football. So look down your nose while lying on your back, and if you beat us, well by George youll remember the punishment it took to do it. Shoot Im fired up now! Cant wait till tonight!

This Monterey team has put some points on the board this season. They rolled Gordonsville 40-14. 2A Jackson County who lost to Marion in the playoffs, got whipped 42-7.. They put over 40 points in 7 of their last 8. Midway is the only team since Clay County to hold them to 21. I wonder what happened at Clay County. That being said Jackson County was the only team above .500 but still, that's a pretty good offense and the defense don't give up a whole lot either. Better tighten up your chin straps, boys. This is going to be a good one.

Getting old just happens buddy! Its better than the alternative.

You might be cocky but we aint the ones playing the game. These boys are hardworking tough kids who have always been ignored and counted out. From the first game of the season on, they have worked through adversity and injury. They played some close games and been on both ends of blowouts. I aint trying to be cocky mtnsosebee I just don't want to be talked down to. There is a difference.

That game was scheduled because a team from Georgia cancelled playing us. I think it was Towns County. The hype around that game started with the coach telling the media that TN Christian was ready for TSSAA play and was going to show Bradley County when they beat Copper Basin. It didn't go as planned. They did have more seniors and juniors than we did and had been playing freshman and sophomores. Nothing to brag about but we weren't picking on anybody, at least from our perspective.

RB for Monterey looks tough to stop. They like to run it out of the I straight at you. Line looks disciplined and blocks well.

Old 7 was a great QB. Left handed athlete who could even fool the refs on those veer options. There was a couple blown dead while you were 30 yards downfield. Yeah you had a good team but you were a good QB as well. Lets keep pulling for these boys to make it. Go Big Red!

Dixon graduated in 98. That was a little while after me. He was a good running back led Chattanooga area that year with close the 1700 yards and 26 TD. He was a special player. I don't know his dad though.

Opinions I can handle. Name calling is not an opinion. You are calling me out. I believe that these kids are a good football team. They play hard and give it all they got. We may not be the best, who knows? I have seen teams win games that nobody thought they could win. That's why they play the game. I personally don't want to offend anyone, especially any kid in high school athletics of any kind or any kid for that matter. I don't want to call anybody names because that is childish and whats the use in hiding behind this keypad, right? So if you want to resort to such, then you should probably take up pro wrestling or cricket, maybe that will satisfy your urges, but if not and you still want to meet the "idiots". yeah I agree. I would like to play these high hatters again. They think they got the game already won. Why maybe we should just all just give them the win and not even play. Nah lets just knock heads if we get the chance. I would like to see Greenback clobber them.

Now I know who you got this from. BD said that nobody wanted to play UC, and I just pointed out the fact that we aint afraid to play anybody anytime anywhere. Yeah you might win, but I will still be proud to say that we played. Now you might want to crawl back under that rock you rolled out of and hide and cry to your mommy. But I never said we were world beaters, but I hope to meet you and I will show you what kind of fool I can be.

The thing is it seems like a lot of the "posters" from other schools have a hard time with giving of respect, Most "posters" just want bootlickers and people just bow down so they wont have to turn their nose up so high. i cant speak for the whole community, cause I am sure their are some people who just show no class, but I will say this "you can bring your better than you attitude if you want, but Copper Basin wants to play football, if all you want to do is talk trash about our team and our community and our traditions, shut up and play football."

I really hope we get past Monterey and then get to play you guys. That way you can come over to our side and introduce yourself to the idiots.
