What about that 2010 team? They had mercy rule win in the state title game that year. I remember the beat down they put on coalfield that year and was impressed.

Game was never close. Monterey scored in the 4th after coalfield switched into a base defense and played conservative. I think coalfield had over 500 yds of offense compared to Monterey having around 150 yds. Coalfield also had a 65 yd touchdown run called back on a drive we ended up punting. Coalfield kept the streak going of having a TD called back in each playoff game this year.

They have but we lose our two best lineman from this team. We need a couple to make some big strides over the offseason and we could be back again next year.

Got to get some linemen developed and the future could include another trip cookeville. The freshman QB has a chance to be special talent in 1A football.

They were definitely solid upfront last year in MS but no where near the best line Coalfield has had in middle school.

What type of crowd should we expect on Friday? I think coalfield will travel pretty well considering we had nice crowd up at greenback last week.

I'm having a hard time remembering a big kid from there when we played them. Do you remember his number?

That would be huge for our line next year if it happens. Is that kid from OS? A lot times these things end up being more rumor than kids actually transferring though.

Heard some talk that some of their middle school kids were thinking of transferring here. Don't know about any high school kids besides Lowe who is already here and playing.

I think Coalfield is in the bottom 5 that play football.

Coalfield might have played the best football they have played all year Friday. They still had a couple costly penalties, one of which brought back a touchdowns and around 10 dropped passes that hit WRs in the hands. If they play like they did Friday and limit drops then Monterey won't have an answer.

Coalfield has a couple of big games later this week against meigs and grace, still going to be without the football players.

Coalfields not what they have been in the past but they are still way better than Monterey. I say coalfield by 28

No last week was the east championship game between GB and coalfield. You can have your hopes up all week but come Friday you will come back to earth.

I would say that WECO 101.3 out of Wartburg will be there Friday to broadcast.

I think your alls biggest problem is focusing too much on winning the day instead of worrying about winning the night.

Definitely think we won the battle up front both ways tonight. Bible had a nice first half toting the rock but think pain took away from him a little in the second half. It was nice seeing him play on defense some tonight. I also thought #57 Turpin might have had the best game of his coalfield career tonight'. He made a ton of plays with greenback running away from where Stewart was lined up.

Dropped passes about killed us tonight. I can think of 9 off the top of my head that hit WRs hands then hit the ground.
