  1. Broad Axe, I fully support this year's kids. Go back and look at my profile and past posts. You'll see who else I support. I know some of the kids on the current UT squad and yes, there were a few of those Seniors last year that could be on this years UT team. Before he got hurt, Hunter Garrett, for one, was being recruited by LSU.
  2. NOW they decide to come down for a little look see. Where were these guys last year with those group of Seniors? Good luck to the current Seniors of USJ and here's to wishing them the best come tournament time.
  3. Especially with a tightly wound, Senior pitcher on the mound... Give' em heck Spencer!!
  4. Germantown at USJ at 6:00pm on Monday.
  5. What was USJ & Brighton scores tonight?
  6. And another thing, VG, not only is TSSAA taking away the trophies, I would now assume that they will be wiping away the records of the 2005 State Tourney. B was a part of setting or tieing 4 team/individual records during the State Tourney for homeruns, RBI's etc. We were looking forward to going to the Tourney this year and buying one of the programs that lists all of the record holders throughout the history of the tourney itself. Something that we as parents could put in with his other pics, awards, etc while growing up and looking back on one of these days. Guess what....GONE. It's a shame, a real shame.
  7. ..so I can see why a lot of folks were pretty steamed about the eventual punishments. As a parent of a player on last year's team, I am not only steamed, I am p###ed at both the parents and the administration of these two players for even letting this infraction come close to happening. A lot of innocent young men will have to suffer for two sets of parents and an administration's ineptness.
  8. As one of Danny's closest friends in High School that hasn't seen him in years, please tell him that he is in the prayers of the Petty's. Get well soon, Jake. Richard Petty & family
  9. Can't speak for the others, but Brian Petty had the following stats that include all games thru State Championship: .472 BA (51-108) .926 Slug % 10 HR's 3 3B's 13 2B's 25 1B's 60 RBI's Great season BP.....It has been a joy watching you play this year, but sad knowing that it is your last. Good luck at UT next year.
  10. What?????????????? Raleigh Egypt recruit, please say no.....they are a public school for crying out loud. Everyone knows public schools can't recruit!!!
  11. What are the results for the previous couple of years? Appears that 2004 is about 50/50, but I'm not sure about a couple of schools.
  12. Spencer is homegrown and has been at USJ since 4th grade....Lives for baseball. He will make someone a great acquisition after next year. Plays a Brooks Robinson-esque 3rd base also. As I have stated before on this site, I believe 20 of our 22 players live within 2 miles of the school and most have attended since early grade school. If you want to know anything else about this group of young men, please ask.
  13. Should be on both of your emails now. Glad to be of assistance and hear the story behind the man. Let me know if for some reason the email doesn't arrive.
  14. Donna, give me about 30 minutes and I will send it to you. It is on my computer at the office. I think it would be great for his Sr. shadowbox as it has him in full stride throwing his warm ups and has some of the guys standing around him. Leaving right now. thumb
  15. I have a great picture of the relief pitcher that was brought into the game for the last out against USJ. I don't know the story about him, but we all noticed that he was a crowd favorite. I would love to hear the story and would be glad to email the picture to whomever at Harriman that would like it, just let me know where to email. The picture is of him in full stride throwing a pitch.
  16. Take I-40 to exit 25. Follow signs to Millington. I-385 ends at Hwy 51, turn right and stadium is up on your left. Mom & Dad were very grateful. Along with a bunch of other kin folk. thumb
  17. Dave, I don't know of any....96.5 will broadcast out of Lexington on radio, but don't know of what, if any, other stations will be there.
  18. USJ was backed by the strong pitching effort of Freshman sensation Clayton Gant and the renewed hitting attack of the entire Bruin's line-up. Brian Petty and Hunter Garrett both had 2 HR's each, both in the same innings to lead the attack. Good job Bruins and good luck against FCA Friday. Congrats to Harriman for their great season. Especially classy that some parents stopped some players in the parking lot and said good game and good luck tomorrow. GO BRUIN's!!!!
  19. Not me. I predict Diesel will come in blowing 92 mph smoke today and USJ wins 8-1.
  20. Uh, not all privates are moving up. JCS out of Jackson will still be single A and will be a favorite to win it all in baseball in '06.
  21. Thanks for the support. Care to clarify the last remark?
  22. Either path he takes, he will be playing a game he obviously loves and doesn't mind the hard work to get better and advance further.
