  1. That's a good point passive. I think in those situations, the admin should go in and say look, either catch up with the times and put forth the kind of effort you had before, or we are gonna have to start looking at a different route. Sometimes, coaches get comfortable, sometimes even lazy, and get away with what got them to the top to begin with. Either that or all their good players get rezoned!! lol
  2. Thanks. It's the entitlement generation my friend. Everyone wants everything right now...and think they deserve everything right now. It's a tough time to work with kids...and their parents. lol
  3. This may be the funniest thing I've ever seen!! Classic LSUfreek!! Nice post stars
  4. In reference to the last sentence of this post, Unfortunately, high school football is becoming more "business-like". High school football anymore looks like what goes on every year in the NCAA. Coaching carousels and this and that. I remember days when coaches would be at schools for a long time. Yeah they would have their down years from time to time but fans and administration were patient with them and gave them a chance to get it right. There are a lot of places where fans get in an uproar over a subpar year and immediately put pressure on the admin to make a change. They see this in college and think that's what should be done on the high school level. In my opinion, that is not good for the schools or the teams. Now let me make this clear though...There are some times when a change is definitely needed and there are times when one has to be made for whatever reasons. But to sum all this up...this ain't college folks. These coaches aren't getting paid a ton of money to coach football. The "business" side of high school football should not be about wins and losses to an extent. The "business" side of high school football should be preparing young men for the real world when they don't have any Friday nights left. Many times wins and losses are correlated with this, sometimes not. But there is a fine line in my opinion.
  5. It's kind of a tough time to come in as a new HC there, especially coming off the title run. It would probably be wise to keep it in house if possible instead of throwing a new person out there that will be expected to repeat in year 1.
  6. When do they expect an announcement for this hire?
  7. That is true, however, it would be very foolish to get out of one controversy and step right back into another if someone basically tells you hey I'm gonna cause another crap storm! I do not think any of that is true though because from all I've heard, Ellison is a stand up guy.
  8. I would say that if that were true, he probably wouldn't have been hired because that's a pretty unethical thing to do imo.
  9. That hire will probably come from within I would think.
  10. Booking it is the only thing that makes it official!
  11. A pretty reliable one there big guy. And no, not AP's twitter feed, but a good enough one to make it a "Book It" worthy post.
  12. My source says hire coming soon. It's Ellison. BOOK IT!!
  13. Congrats to those two young men. Fox is a dandy football player and I hope he gets a shot at the next level.
  14. Well, it's Tuesday and school is back in. Is there any news yet?
  15. Merry Christmas to everyone on coacht!
  16. Yeah that's a pretty big IF, especially since there's not even been an offer yet.
  17. Don't get your drawers in a bunch there buddy. It's called humor. Haha. Get it. How many times did you see someone guarantee he was the next guy because their "sources" said it was so. Too many. Now, I'm not saying that you are wrong on this because you could be completely correct. But to come out and say it's 100% done, when an offer hasn't even been made and it has not been announced yet, is highly irresponsible on your part. I use the Gruden reference because this has been similar to that situation and because it humored me when all that was going on. And if you wanna make us believe you, you have to say "Book It", then we will all know it's true! ðŸ‘
  18. That's defintely worth investigating!! You better get on that htv!!
  19. Once again, pure speculation. Quite sure nothing is 100% until an official announcement is made. As I said, wouldn't surprise me, but to put that it's 100% is not accurate and quite irresponsible. Just remember, Gruden was 100% locked in to ut and you see where that went. If it is true, we will all know in January. Until then, everything is pure speculation.
  20. Do any of those teams have anything for OR this year? I know there's a lot of talent in that pool of teams, but as we all know, OR is very talented as well and seem to be back to their winning ways.
  21. Austin tryin to get the scoop!! Lol. Wouldn't surprise me if true though.
  22. Understood, that's what was stated many times before, but everyone still speculated and kept the thread alive!! lol
  23. Just a question for some of the OR faithful. After Oak Ridge, because I believe they will for sure finish first, how do you guys see the rest of the district panning out? I see there are some threads on here about other districts, but not 3 AAAAA. Just a thought for conversation.
