Records don't show everything. If you are sooooo smart you would know that. And I do believe the football team did make the playoffs. And I do believe they hold the state record for the most consecutive seasons in the playoffs. You might speak the truth, from a narrowly minded point of view. You talk like my dad did, you talk all about the negative and nothing about the positive. You might think it makes you like you know what you're talking about, but a lot of times it just makes you look like you dislike everything about Cyclone athletics.

Another wonderful post by the all-knowing rvd! Every now and then say somethan positive. Could you try that? And the boys team is not below average. If you knew any basketball and watched these kids, you would know they are better than average.

Well said old cyclone, I heard they had a team meeting Wed. led by Charles Peters, maybe somethan good came out of it. We will have to see on Friday. And by the way, if the girls would have had Weems last year, they would have a state title for girls basketball at the school right now.

I'm pretty much just sick of watching this team play. This team looks terrible playing out there. They can't play together on the floor. They can't play defense. They don't have an efficient offense. It is obvious nothing is accomplished in practice. And they don't have a coach trying to fix any of this. Some of they players out there are playing for themselves and it is obvious. I feel sorry and embarrassed for the players that care and aren't used to this kind of embarrassing play. This team has a lot of talent but no leader on the bench pulling them together. The coach can barely see what is going on and has to ask his assistants how much time is on the clock, who is in, what's the score, who made the turnover, who got the rebound. It is really sad and really pitiful. Hiring Mike Wilson is the 2nd worst decision made by the AD, the first would be firing Tony Hardin. I've already told a couple guys that is about time to tighten up their spikes and swing those sticks, caz they have one heckuva coach for the baseball team.

This team has no discipline. They look terrible out there playing. I feel sorry for the kids that hate to lose and aren't used to losing. There is nobody in charge and you can tell from the way they play. Nave and Callie do whatever they want with the ball. They rarely make 3 or 4 passes before a shot is taken and there is not any offensive rebounding. They run crazy on the defensive end and there is no rebounding there either. You have a 6'5 post that is not even one of the best rebounders. This team has a lot of talent and it looks like it will go to waste. The best coach at the school doesn't have a word with this team. I'm sure everyone out there knows who the coach is that should be coaching this team. I honestly believe if he were the coach of this team, they would be 7-3 or possibly 8-2, not 5-5.

At this point in the early season, here are my top teams. 1. Erwin 2. Science Hill 3. Dobyns-Bennet 4. Sullivan Central 5. Sullivan South/Tenn High 6. Elizabethton 7. M. West 8. Greeneville 9. South Greene 10. Daniel Boone

Derrick Nave from Elizabethton is only 6 foot but can throw it down with ease. He can do some athletic dunks too, not just the generic stuff.

People don't realize how hard it is for Ben. He played his whole life in E-Town. He and his dad got screwed out of E-Town. Of course he is enjoying playing with the blue devils but it might not be as great as everyone thinks. He might be wearing blue and white but I think his heart is still orange and black. I hope he has a great senior year and I hope his dad can also find peace with the situation.

They beat Sullivan East 75-70 Tuesday night. They play Crockett Friday. This team can score. But post play will kill them. All their scoring is from 3 guards. If Norman steps up, they will be able to play with Erwin and beat them.

He played as a freshman with Howard. He has to be very good to play as a freshman for that team. I can't wait to see this team play.

The Cyclones ended up playing University High and Maryville. They won both games. They beat UH by only 2. The beat Maryville by around 14. They played really well against a bigger, stronger Maryville team. Norman played good in the second game after a poor first game. The Cyclones couldn't hot a shot in the first game but were on fire the second game. If they can play like they did against Maryville all year, then the rest of the league better watch out. Go Cyclones!

The Cyclones play Maryville and Maryville Heritage tomorrow. They should have all their players, not sure if they are healthy though. Are both of those teams 3-A in basketball, I think they are but not sure.

I know the team out of Atlanta will be stacked, but I wish the boys from Utah were coming back. I really enjoyed watching those boys play. The local teams will be a little down this year. But I am ready to go watch some good basketball this year.

Pitching is the only weak spot for this team. Hopefully Grindstaff will be fully recovered from blowing out his knee in football.

The kid from Science Hill is Micah Collie. Very good slasher to the hole and finisher. He will take a lot of pressure off of Nave. They scrimmaged Hampton and lost by 4. But they were playing without Collie,Taylor and Henson. Collie has a lower back strain, Taylor has two pinched nerves on his lower back and Henson has a minor ankle sprain. They scrimmage again Saturday.

I'm pretty sure Vandy will beat Tenn. I think Riverdale or Maryville could beat Tenn. This team is sad.

You and me both know that all the team needed was a coach with discipline and a strong work ethic. That is a exactly what they got. I know I'm looking forward to seeing what Payne can do with these boys.

I've heard Wilson hasn't been too impressed with Norman. But he is 6'5, it will be hard for Wilson not to play him. The other post is still up for grabs. The guards are Nave, Taylor and Callie. The team will probably be a lot better off with the football players there already. I really think this year's team will be a lot better that last years.

If erwin doesn't win the conference it will be a shock. They do have great size. But they big players can really play. White is one of the best players around if he would play like it. The point is their only weakness, but they should be able to manage with McCormick and Hardin. Elizabethton will be the only team that could knock them off. Another thing, Erwin has the toughest place to play in next to Happy Valley.

They haven't lost anything but Charles Peters. With Taylor running the point, Nave will be able to move more without the ball. The transfer from the Hill will help with the scoring and take some pressure off Nave. This team wne 10-2 over the summer will the only losses to Volunteer and Tennessee High. They beat South Greene, Happy Valley, Gate City, and Sullivan North. The lost to Tenn. High by 5. This is not the same team from last year. They played together and had fun. If they play like they did in the summer, look for a second place finish behind Erwin, and possibly an upset over Erwin and a tie for first.
