  1. His 19 class is well balanced with 4 offensive players and 3 defensive. With Faith's shooting and passing prowess, she will likely be the QB of the class. It will be interesting to see how many of the 19s can offer early contributions at UTC. His current team is showing improvement over last year.
  2. FHS has injury and talent issues this year. Last year's graduating class took too many starters. HVA's growth has also dilluted their talent pool. With MHS being the big dog in Blount county, they should continue to get better each year.
  3. Hopefully no player or coach would ever target an injured player. That would be ridiculous. This is high school.
  4. This is MHS's best chance yet to make a deep run in state. Hopefully, the injured can heal up and return. Which colleges are they attending?
  5. Does MHS have injuries? I watched both teams earlier this year and there was a huge difference in the talent level in Maryville's favor.
  6. Maryville should win convincingly as Farragut is down this year. I would venture 6-1.
  7. After watching both Powell and Oak Ridge play, it appears OR may flip the script this year in that district. Both are solid teams but OR seems to have an edge offensively. Their coming game should be a good setup for the district tournament. I would venture a guess of 3-1 OR.
  8. Faith has a bright future. From the growth we are seeing from Chattanooga, this will be her last year of having too few players to complement her offensive talents. She will likely be a scoring machine when she gets to UTC.
  9. Players, Not likely, but I thought if I used a big man handle it would keep me from getting punked by Booger. Never can be too careful with those crazy Notre Dame fans.
  10. No worries at all, my friend. I have only the sincerest of compliments for Big G. His record, as well as his actions on this board, speak to the type person and leader he is.
  11. Moon, Of course he is. I'm just having a little fun gigging Elmer over his incorrect assumption. I don't know of a single poster (except maybe booger) who would ever talk smack about Big G. The man has been there and done that a good many times.
  12. G, My reference was to the club coach. Obviously, I was not clear enough for Elmer to understand. He did show us the thickness (or not) of his skin with his erroneous assumptions. Remember to tell your kids, drugs are bad!!! Elmer, you haven't been sniffing your glue again, have you?
  13. Elmer, you haven't been sniffing your glue again, have you?
  14. Sounds like CPA took control early in the second half and ran the clock out. My daughter's club coach always said give him a 1 goal lead in the second half and he will make the clock spin like a top. They would boot the ball out, walk slowly on every throw in, and have the keeper wait the full time before kicking it. That's how he won state in 2016. He got the 1 goal lead right after half and shut down the rest of the game.
  15. Player's team has really found some traction with his recent high school recruits. I saw the 3-0 win over Troy yesterday and noticed what prominent roles the recent hs grads played in the victory. If UTC continues to recruit well, they will likely supplant Belmont and Lipscomb in the state's soccer hierarchy.
  16. I would not worry about Maryville playing second fiddle to anyone in ET right now. They are a deep and talented team which mercy-ruled the defending state champs, Alcoa last night.
  17. I agree with this. Powell's result against Science Hill was somewhat surprising. I thought with their continued development and SH's player losses, they had a legitimate chance to pull out a win. You are right about Bearden getting stronger as the season progresses. This will likely be the case again this year although tonight's game against HVA should give us an early indication of where both clubs are heading. Once again, no teams from East Tennessee look dominant at this point. In season growth will be their best chance to be competitive at the state tournament.
  18. Those four seem to be the best in the area as of late. In ranking them, I would think Maryville, Powell, Bearden, and HVA. The odd thing is HVA seemingly has the best talent year in and year out yet always underperforms in the big games. With their new coach, they may be able to change all that.
  19. TSC won't let her play against another club? I do not understand. Does TSC own the rights to a high school player? More than likely, TSC is scared of what Faith could do against them and is hedging their bets. The funny thing is TSC is the big dog in Tennessee. For them to be scared of one player shows how tenuous their belief in themselves is. Good luck to Faith in whatever she does. I am sure she will excel.
  20. Very impressive on all accounts! Canes may be mad at you from the lingering hangover of January 1, 1986. A long time to hold a grudge, but some things are hard to get over.
  21. Powell beating Bearden is an eye-opener. Is this an indication of Powell's strength or Bearden's challenges? Although Powell has been improving for years, Bearden always seems to maintain elite club status. In looking at the scores throughout east Tennessee, it appears Maryville may very well be the team to beat this year.
  22. I do not understand. What is funny about all the Lobos' teams advancing to the championships?
  23. Would the lobos have to partner with a Tennessee team or could they find another member who is seeking admittance and is close?
