That is what I was wondering. I don't think I've seen any teams in either district this year, but going by what I read on here, I assumed this would really mess up region play.

Crazy that BOTH top seeds were upset. How will that play out?

South Greene defeats Cloudland 67-31 and North Greene came out with the win in a close one against University High. 59-54, I believe was the final score. Cloudland and University High will play for 3rd Monday at 6:00. North Greene and South Greene will play for the championship Tuesday at 6:00.

He is a really great coach. It was the 5th foul on Todd Brown and that was after having already lost two others. I wasn't there and can only go by what the radio announcer said, which was that it was a cheap call. I have no idea if it was or wasn't. It isn't unusual for these boys to get in foul trouble. It had plagued them all year and they had just gained back their two starting guards in Brown and Shaw a couple games before post season. You just have to learn from it, get better and come back next year. Fortunely most of them will be returning.

SG wasn't allowed to play defense. They were up big in the first and then had to sit most of their starters out in the 2nd due to foul trouble. Rangers started coming back and then foul trouble continued in the 2nd half, with at least 3 starters fouling out. Maybe 4.

I see your point with age and experience. I hope that SG does not succumb to that. They are the youngest in the district. Possibly in the state. NG certainly has the experience as they are loaded with seniors.

I knew a good team would be finished between Unaka and Cloudland, but I never expected Hampton to lose that one. I hate to see anyone's season end. Was anyone there who can shed some light on the games?

Saturdays games are: South Greene vs Cloudland at 4:00 North Greene vs University High at 7:00. SG and NG are obvious favorites. Will there be another upset? Regardless, these are the four teams moving on to the regional tournament.

I just heard that as well. I just turned the radio on to hear the SG boys game and they announced that. Crazy.

Tourney starts tonight at Daniel Boone. Besides SG and NG, who have the bye, who do you think makes it through to region play? 1. South Greene 2. North Greene 3. Hampton 4. Cloudland 5. Unaka 6. University High Tonight's games are Cloudland vs. Unaka with the winner facing South Greene tomorrow and Hampton vs. University with the winner facing North Greene. Hampton is the obvious pick over University, but Unaka vs Cloudland is a toss up for me. Thoughts? These games can be heard on Greeneville Station 103.1 FM and on the Tunein app.

I'm just trying to help you out here and get it back on subject. I know very little about class AAA, but where does Morristown West fit into the equation?

I just rechecked and South Greene's schedule strength has improved to 7th. You cannot criticize their schedule or say they have not been tested.

As a Rebel fan, I would say Elizabethton would win and win big. They have an awesome team and the experience. SG is young. No seniors. One Junior, and the rest are Freshman and Sophomores. They are a great team, but not the same caliber as Elizabethton this year. I'm not sure why we are even trying to compare the teams. SG has proven they will play anyone. They wouldn't back down from Elizabethton as I'm sure Elizabethton wouldnt back down from them. There isn't enough time and space to schedule everyone. SGs schedule is proven as I believe their schedule strength is ranked 16th on CoachT, which is higher than any other team's I have looked at. And Elizabethton has dominated their schedule. My hope is that both teams make it to the boro in their conference and prove themselves there.

Is anyone at the NG/Hampton game who would mind posting updates on the game?

It was the worst game South Greene has had this year and I was there. SG had many unforced turnovers. Just straight throwing the ball away without being pressured. Easy shots were missed as the ball rolled around every inch of the rim without falling through. Hampton was making great shots and took advantage of a very bad night for SG. Can't blame them for that.
