Waverly is not going in taking them lightly or overlooking Forrest. They have always played Waverly tough. I think it will be a good game. One thing you can’t do is look at the past schedule because a lot of key players were missing in those games plus they couldn’t practice for a few weeks (the whole team). The team you are seeing now is a healthy well coached group of passionate, hard nosed kids. This team has a great defense and a well balanced offense.

I see what you’re saying but Waverlys D backs have forced 5 turnovers in the last 3 games. D dense has done their jobs. I think picking up pre reads and adjusting quicker is the main issue on offense. Other than that Waverly seems pretty well balanced.

Your right. But I’m not talking about Waverlys offense. I’m talking about Waverlys defense. Waverly has a very balanced offense when they are all healthy. But if the defense is on point it’s going to be hard to score on them.

If Waverly comes out and plays like they did against Westview, Waverly wins by 10. If Waverly comes out and plays like they did against Houston Co. they lose by 14. Which team shows up?

Not sure about Meigs co. They could be a sleeping giant. The team that I'm referring to will have 3 running backs and 5 receivers that will be very tough and athletic. They also have a defense that will be very hard nose and quick to the ball. They have a very athletic team. Probably one of the most if not the most athletic I've seen in this area ever.

There is a sleeping giant. People be aware, watch and see by the 5th week of the season the cream will start rising to the top. This team will have one of the best defenses around and a very explosive offense. Tons of weapons and still are relatively young.

What was the deal with Jackson Christian beating McKenzie 38-21? I dont believe any game 1st,2nd etc rounds are going to be gimme's. Region 6 is a tough region. All any team can do is strap it on and play their best.

You may be correct card , i just hate seeing kids in these post being products of useless info that has nothing to do with them as athletes or as people in general. Back to the subject I think both of these programs are outstanding and am very impressed with the fans for both of teams as well. Wish i could see this one but its Senior night in Waverly and cant miss that for nothing. Good luck to both teams and pray for no injuries.

I love seeing all this excitement about the program..........but lets take this 1 game and season @ a time. We still have Senior night against a tough Riverside group. And the playoffs coming up. Myself, I'm enjoying all the things that have went on this year. Salute to the Seniors that are going to play their FINAL regular season home game this Friday night. GO BIG BLUE! The future is bright, but hopefully we still have a few more games left 1n 2015.

I hope and pray for no injuries for both teams. Looking for an exciting game and it being Senior night emotions should be running pretty high for this game. This group of Seniors for Waverly are going to be missed. Such a great group of young men and leaders.

After Waverly comes off their bye week how do they respond for the last regular season game of the year.

You are correct, never said it didnt. My response is that i dont think the line has carried the offense. They have played great no doubt but carried the offense.......no.The last 2 games we have played the defense did not blitz.

The offensive line has played pretty well I must say but I wouldnt say they have carried our offense. The Waverly team may be young but they have a lot of offensive weapons. As long as each person on the offense continues to do his job they will be fine. I hope the defense figures out its little quircks because thats going to be the difference in the rest of the season.

Defense is hurt by being to aggressive, they are over perusing . They will be just fine , we have the proper personnel and the proper coaching staff. I believe it is just sensory overload. If the offense continues to click this could be a wonderful thing.

In my opinion we have done what you need to do in pre season. We played some good compitition early in Wayne Co. and Union City,played a 4a school in Obion Co which showed them a different style of offense and defense.And for the most part came away healthy. Pray this Friday that they continue to stay healthy and get ready to enjoy this Football season.

This week we have the Mcewen Warriors, this is the Kick off before regular season.I always love this game because it brings all the County together to start the season. After watching our scrimmages this season I have came away very impressed with the leadership and the young talent that has stepped up for the challenge. The passing game is there and the run game is better than Ive seen it in many years. Defense will be a huge part of our success this season,the way they fly to the ball is outstanding. We are having a Fish Fry before the game @ the High School, come out and support your TIGERS!

This Friday against Obion Co. @ Waverly

I watched the scrimmages yesterday and came away very impressed with both sides of the ball. Union City was very impressive and our boys stood with those guys toe to toe. Wayne Co had the starting QB out and Im sure that had some effect on the execution of their offense. We were very aggressive on defense, and our offense, after the butterflies were out ran and executed smoothly. Coach Matt McConnell and Staff have done an OUTSTANDING job with these young men. They still have alot to work on but they also have alot to build off of.GO BIG BLUE!!!
