Oakland here we come

That SH game was the worst, and then they come out against HV and look like a completely different team. Hope that same team shows up this week.

The boys had a good showing against HVA. Same song, different verse when the final score was called though. I hope they can pull out a big win on senior night. Without Copeland the bears are definitely beatable. We will see how it goes.

Maryville and GQ are impressive, no doubt about it. Govs are pretty healthy going into the game I think. 91 is right, they didn't get hurt tackling last week. The next three games are going to be tough. I hope the boys give a great effort and give Maryville a game. I saw Shad working his magic at practice this week! New game plan. New formations. Look out!! Go Govs!!

I was looking at the scores from last year compared to the scores from this year, and it is clear that this team has made some big improvements over last season. They have been competitive in every game except Alcoa. They have come up short, but this team could easily have one loss at this point. This looks like their best chance to get a win this year. The teams get tougher from here on out, Hardin Valley being the next best chance at a victory.

I know it may seem strange, but I feel confident the Govs will win this one. This game scares me far less than the last two. Govs by 10.

The Heritage loss is a huge rivalry loss. This team can still have a very successful season though, especially in district play. The Bearden game will determine much about where this season is heading. Beat Bearden and Jeff County and you still have the makings of a program that is in the rise.

Should have beat Bearden last year, going to beat them this year. Close, but the Govs bounce back with another big win for the program!

Absolutely! Parents should not be yelling at 16 and 17 year old kids while another kid is hurt. That is far more rude than not "taking a knee". It was embarrassing. I don't care if they take a knee or not anyway. Heritage handled things well given the circumstances.

I agree with your assessment of LC and DB both. Except the same thing was true of those teams last year as well, and WB barely beat LC and got clobbered by DB at home last year. Those teams are still bad. WB is much improved, thus the difference I n the scores from last year to this year. WB is much improved.

I saw the D last year up close and they were awesome, no doubt about it. But this year's D is faster, but not quite as big. Still plenty big enough for high school though. Just no D1 big. Maybe I am wrong, and know it is a huge statement, but that D is looks better overall to me, offense too.

IMO Alcoa is better on defense this year than last season. Not quite as big, but better team speed. Maybe not any one individual talent, but as a team defense and offense are both better than last year.
