I do as well, it is commendable. They absolutely did as they should. But someone asked whether or not it was news worthy. It is what happens in the current political environment. On the one hand, some group wants to increase exposure by going after a southern rural school district and claims a victory when they think they've succeeded. BTW, this was all over their site just a couple of days ago, no mention now. On the other hand, Fox gonna Fox. It's all political, with an unwitting participant (high school football teams) as the medium. Everyone has an agenda these days and the fact that it can penetrate small town sports means that it's everywhere. However, since it did happen, I'm glad there is a counterpoint, Fox, regardless of their motivation. Enough about this, hope everyone is healthy before and after the game Friday night.

Some group that no one has ever heard of reminded Putnam County Schools that coaches and staff could not participate in student prayer. In response, there was a player led post game prayer. I agree with you, that should be end of story. However, that's not how things happen these days. Someone posted a photo with a caption. That got re-posted and eventually wound up with a Fox17 post and it went from there. So it's basically just another social media "news story".

If I may, I'm going to re-direct from a H2O-TC thread, back to a H2O-UHS thread, lol. UHS's starting QB did not play a down in the second half last game. Don't know his status for this game, but whether he plays or not would have an impact. They can win with the backup, but maybe it won't come to that. On a side note, I understand Fox News will be in town Thursday morning to interview participants from last week's post game prayer (there's currently a story about it on the front page of their website). I don't think of this as too much of a distraction, just hope that Fox News presence doesn't bring out any type of protest or other happenings due to some "hurt feelings" from the people who started it and had it blow up in their face.

Normally, I'd say you have to be good enough to overcome bad calls. They proved they were. But you are correct, there was no scenario where Upperman was going to be allowed to win. Oh well, water under the bridge. Hopefully, they don't see anything like this the rest of the way and get better from it.

Not surprised, I would hold him out also if he's not 100%, region games coming up. Big loss on D though. Makes a lot of stops in the backfield. Very athletic and a sure tackler.

Sandbag much. lol? We'll expect a full recap on the FC game. Don't know if you watched any of the Upperman/Cookeville matchup, but U showed virtually nothing in terms of offensive scheme. Only ran about 6 plays. Even when CHS loaded up to stop the run, they still didn't open anything up (only threw 5 passes all night). Never seen them run so much 12 personnel on offense. But it worked and they wore them down and pulled away at the end. Not sure that plan will change much next week, should be pretty close to the same game plan.

U scored from about two yards out, O ran off, PAT ran out, then came a procedure call. If that's the case, should of blown dead. Almost like they waited to see the outcome of the play, then called it. Snap issues looked to be some C, some QB, and some wet ball. The PF was a football play. WR got his hands on the ball, DB was closing, WR dropped, DB let up as much as he could, but there was contact. He didn't light him up or anything. Probably a 50/50 play at best. Wanna see an illegal hit, go back and watch that last U pick and the WR go helmet to helmet, no call, Oh well.
