  1. If you are talking about Lunsford, he’s good to go. Could have played Friday night but wanted to rest him which was a great idea. If you’re talking about the West qb, I have no idea….
  2. Even if Alcoa wanted to move to 5A or 6A they couldn’t per TSSAA. Also, why should Alcoa move to 5A or 6A? They are playing in the classification they belong? Alcoa has normally played up a classification, but honestly 3A as a whole has been tougher than 4A (other than possibly Greeneville). Then you have the argument of would those 4A schools (Greeneville, Elizabethton and others) move to 5A if Alcoa moved up? I would give Greeneville the benefit of the doubt, but Betsy would probably move up. I say that because they moved from 3A to 4A to get away from us. Also, the fact that Greeneville, Betsy and Anderson County had the opportunity to put Alcoa on their schedule for 2 years (last year & this year) and declined the offer says a bunch. Winning never gets old! I can live with the fact that others run from us and we get the best we can get out of classification and win. That’s all you can ask out of a program! Alcoa dresses 66 players. Not sure about your numbers as compared to other programs, so I’ll let it go.
  3. For what it’s worth, Alcoa schedules who they can schedule. When the typical powerhouses refuse to play by using the old excuse of- “We have nothing to gain from playing Alcoa. If we win, we were supposed to win. If we lose, we got beat by a 3A school” gets old. You can’t have it both ways. These teams run from signing a two year deal, then folks like you want to bang our schedule. Get some of these schools you are thinking to call our athletic director and I’m sure he will try and work something out.
  4. Definitely underachieving. Too much talent to be labeled as overachieving, imo…
  5. Don’t think West would have lost badly. I think the difference would have been 10-14 points tho. At this point, I’m just glad we got outta there with the W.
  6. Wouldn't be the first time. Although they weren’t 3A, there wasn’t a team in the state that could have played with the 1989 team that took Brentwood Academy to the shed. Kingston was a beast that year tho! There are several other teams, but that one comes to mind first!
  7. Been saying this about West for the last 3-4 years.
  8. AC had the opportunity to have Alcoa on their schedule last year and this year, but declined to accept the challenge…..
  9. You nailed it. AE would rather Alcoa move up, rather than put in the work to get better. Flat out lazy. That’s why their program is going nowhere…
  10. I like the way you’re thinking stars. However, the WB All American QB that transferred through the Blount county portal negates that 171.9 points and takes Murvul to a 250.6 pt favorite. Not to mention, with the HUGE Florida transfer y’all picked up murvul should probably at well over a 300.4 favorite.
  11. Just hope my Tornadoes can keep it close. Murvul has the best defensive coaching staff in the state. Gonna be very difficult for our NEW and inexperienced offensive staff to come up with any plays to score points. Again, just hoping Murvul doesn’t beat the fat off our little guys bones…
  12. Sorry Boog! I went out of my way to find that one. Main reason, i knew you’d get it!
  13. Hey Crow! Just relaxing a bit before BC and I make the haul to Rhea County. We are looking pretty good. Ready for the season to start! If our studs can stay healthy, I think we make another run. Gonna miss a couple of our o-line after this year. Got one going to VT and the other one to Indiana. So, gonna try and enjoy each game. Wish Upperman the best! Us Goons will be keeping an eye on ya.
  14. Actually the school was built for about 1000, but close enough. Plus, there is the ability to build up, or out. Plenty of room for growth… They have already started an addition to the the intermediate school, so it coming…
