Yes young team I understand Rhea has a freshmen quarterback and several more freshmen playing a lot. Will be fun to watch them develop.

Thoughts ?

Rhea has along way to go my take on game is decent running game lack of speed, questions still on defense, zero passing game. They did a good job against a 4A team that was 2-8 last year and started a freshmen at QB. A good win but ....

Don’t know anything about other schools in region this year but going by past teams it will be a rather weak region. Have no idea who the favorite would be either

How has Rhea county looked anybody have any info from scrimmages?

Rhea does indeed have good feeder programs have good teams year in year out some better than others we all know how middle schools are up and down but all in all good teams year in and year out. Problem is these good middle school players end up quitting or going elsewhere to play. It is a problem hence back to back loosing seasons. Doesn’t matter how good a x and o coach you are if you don’t have the talent and athletes you can’t win it’s that simple.

Rhea only had 3 or 4 first downs all night don’t think they were any where close to a hundred yds

If Rhea county had all the talent that has went elsewhere and most importantly all the talent that is still walking the halls playing this year and next year it could have been the best 2 years of football in the history of the school. Mind blowing how coaches let this happen

Rhea county’s program is in a terrible place and it will only be worse next year.

It really is sad we’re the program is when these kids were in middle school there was talk of a state championship possibility well let me rephrase when this senior and junior class were in middle school. Most of the middle school players that had so much success are not playing anymore for whatever reason.

Of the four wins Rhea co has none are quality wins every team has a losing record brainerd 3-5 marion 3-4 walker valley 0 for season lenoir 4-4 not a good season anyway you look at it. And 2 of those teams are 2A and 3A

When Bill Horton was the coach kids were required to participate in more than one sport.

I agree he could handle it, I think it is ridiculous that coaches put pressure on kids to play one sport. It helps develop athletes when they play multiple sports hand eye coordination quick feet etc etc etc.

You would think he would be the starter but rumors on street are he is wanting to concentrate on baseball and may not play next season. If that is the case I have no idea who would compete for starting job. Honestly don't know who the younger QBs are.

Can't wait to see how some of the younger guys 8th and 9th graders progress over the next few years at rhea. We will miss those seniors but hopefully others will step up

Rhea will be competitive next year but should be really good in about 3 years got a good crop of freshmen and 8th graders coming up.

Looking forward to see how 8th graders at Rhea Middle progress they had a very good team this year and played a tough middle school schedule. They are some very good athletes with size. Will be fun to watch them develop over the next few years.

According to chattanooga.com you got the Head coach of the year and offensive and defensive coach of the year. Amazing what getting past second round gets you!!

Very well said Rico I believe there are to much emphasis placed on win at all cost. Truth is not any or less than 1 percent of these kids will make a living playing sports and it's sad when they can't enjoy competing.

Rhea may get beat Friday never know. But at this point only thing raw about ooltewah is PA s arse.

Regardless of the game there are more important things at stake here. This young man was arrested and charged according to news reports that all I have to go on is what I have read. With that being said and being a former administrator if this kid plays they better have concrete proof he is innocent or there will be some administrators and an AD looking for a job in the near future. Call it what you want but this is a serious issue. Hopefully this young man will learn from this and take the necessary steps to better himself for the future.
