  1. Like I stated earlier in the other thread, I've got this game as my upset special this week. The Irish will finally put a complete game together & stun the Falcons!
  2. It's obvious this guy is upset that his Rebels allowed more points to Carter than Central's defense did. Facts are facts.
  3. Hassell is probably the best "Head Coach of the Defense" in East Tennessee. Can't fake that.
  4. Just joking around with you, HTV. I knew what you meant.
  5. I would have to agree with you this time, Knoxvul. The Rebels just don't have the talent this year. They are very fortunate their record is 3-1 instead of 1-3. West shouldn't have won the Hardin Valley or Carter game, but pure luck & terrible officiating saved them. Meanwhile, the Bobcats are one of the best teams in the state. Central blew-out last year's Class 5A State Quarterfinalist 38-3 in Week-1, shut out the most brilliant offensive coaching staff in the state 28-0 in Week-2, & then dismantled a perennial State Championship contender 28-10 in Week-3. I doubt there is a team with a more impressive early season resume than the Central Bobcats right now.
  6. Sounds like someone is still salty over Knox West dismantling the undefeated Cherokees in the Class 5A Quarterfinals last season. Must have been a heartbreaking way to end the season. Anyway, it sounds like TortoiseandtheHare might actually have been fairly close to the action between Powell & West. He might know what he is talking about. I would assume Powell guys wouldn't be admitting to condoning such actions anyway & I also wouldn't put too much stock into what "TV guys" had to say about the game of football. Regardless, that game was several years ago & means nothing now. Congrats to Powell for the playoff victories. But that was the past. The Panthers should treasure those victories over West in the 2011 & 2012 seasons, because they won't come close this Friday. After discussing the game in-depth with Austin Price & carefully looking through my analytics sheet, I'm taking the Rebels by 24! You heard it here first! Knox West Rebels: 34 - Powell Panthers: 10
  7. Central should win this game fairly comfortably, but I don't envision it being as easy as you insinuate. Knox Central could only muster 38 points against South Doyle & 28 points against Campbell County, but you think they put up 49+ points against Carter? The Hornets might not be state contenders this season, but I can assure you they are a much better team & play much better defense than South Doyle & Campbell County. The Bobcats will/should win, but the final score will be much closer to the 27-10 range than the 49-7 range.
  8. Interesting take. Very interesting.
  9. That game was much closer than the score indicated. Yes, Knox West jumped on Carter early 20-0. But it was mostly bad weather, horrible officiating, and lucky bounces that gave the Rebels that first half lead. After the weather subsided & Carter made their halftime adjustments, the Hornets completely dominated the Rebels. It wasn't even close. Had there been an extra 5 minutes or so on the clock, Carter would have walked out with a victory.
  10. I'm serious. People are severely underestimating the Beavers this year. This is a Karns team that recently destroyed last year's Class 5A Playoff Quarterfinalist (South Doyle) 48-28. And it could have been worse. There aren't many better coached squads in the area. Farragut will get all they can handle from the Beavers Friday night. You heard it here first.
  11. MyVLT TV Game of the Week. Carter has a tough defense coached by Coach McMillan & an offense that has the ability to put up 89 points a game. The Bobcats are currently having one of the best seasons they've had in years. Coach Rosser has turned the program around & Knox Central has the athletes to do some serious damage. This one could be close, but I'm thinking the Bobcats win this game at Joel Helton Field. Who wins this Thursday? Thoughts?
  12. My upset special of the week: Knox Catholic over Fulton. The Irish return some big-name players & are coming off of a huge win against Notre Dame. Too much momentum by Catholic for the Falcons to handle. Catholic by 10.
  13. Alcoa's freshman team is unlike anything I've ever seen. Unreal.
  14. Karns is one of the better teams in the Knoxville area. They are very well coached & have the athletes to really make some noise this season. Coach Kilgore & Coach Hassell will have the Beavers ready to play this Friday evening. The Admirals better prepare for a dog-fight out in Karns.
  15. I can't officially make my prediction for this game until I hear Austin Price's thoughts & insight.
  16. I didn't realize that was the case. I am officially changing my game prediction from Knox West to Carter by 2+ touchdowns. Austin Price knows his stuff. Probably the best expert on football in this area, IMO.
  17. I would imagine Knox West could score on Fulton about the same, if not easier than Knox Central could score on Fulton. No offense to the Bobcats, but they don't have some sort of juggernaut offense. The reason Central is 3-0 is because of their defense.
  18. The Rebels win this one by 2+ touchdowns.
