  1. You sound like you took my question pretty personally. Almost sounded like a certain head coach who engages people on social media in inappropriate ways. Maybe I wrong or maybe I am right... either way I know much more than you think I do.
  2. Pump the brakes... I applaud your recent weight lifting success... Great Job. Returning all of your players? Last I heard the starting QB from last year quit because TP insulted him publicly and the starting Free Safety from last year was kicked off the team for stealing and is not playing at WC. Additionally, a starting corner was kicked off for having drug paraphenelia in his car. I make an effort in my life to not hate anyone or anything. I am a reasonable person asking reasonable questions about the state of a high school football program. They are not claims... check Twitter. You are grandstanding, it has nothing to do with a "hate train", whatever it is that may be. If you want to insult me for simply asking a question, go ahead. You still did answer my question though. Is this behavior that a head coach should engage in?
  3. Just saw on Twitter where a high school kid from Cookeville called out TP. Over course, TP engaged him and the kid made him look like a fool. I mention this because it troubles me that a grown man, who is supposed to represent a school and a football program, engages in this kind of behavior. Does he have nothing better to do with his time?
  4. I heard about this a few days ago from my son. His name is Tim McKee. He has been the DL coach there for the past two years. He was my son's position coach and I can tell you that he is a great coach. He was also very active in the weight room as well. My son told me that he accepted a position at Centennial High School. He personally told my son and some other players that it was a family decision to move. Personally, I hate to see him leave. He has done an incredible job since he has been there according to my son and some other players. However, it does seem curious to me that so many coaches have left there in such a short amount of time. I have heard many times that TP is a difficult person to work for and I am sure this played some role in Coach McKee's decision.
  5. Good point Racer. Henry Co. demonstrates that point better than any other. Upon further examination, I would like to rephrase my statement. It will take a long time to change the culture of losing at Lebanon.
  6. If a sputtering MJ offense can manage to establish an identity with the run game this week, the Golden Bears might have a chance. MJ must control the clock and challenge the Raiders from a physicality standpoint offensively. The MJ defense has been above average this year and I am confident that they will make some stops. However, none of that matters if the offense puts them in terrible field position repeatedly.
  7. I appreciate the intel LBD. Always refreshing to have some on the boards that is well informed.
  8. I think that the underlying issue here is the lack of support at the county level for athletics in Wilson County. These include, higher pay for teachers, better insurance benefits, and higher coaching supplements. I have heard of numerous coaches who turned down positions at a Wilson County School due to the lack of pay and benefits. As a county, we have to self-evaluate our athletic programs to find where the weaknesses are across the board. We also need to analyze and evaluate what other counties with successful athletic programs are doing. (EX. Rutherford and Williamson) Although demographics and socio-economic status are much different, there has to be some improvements that can be made to foster growth. Unfortunately, these changes must come from the Director of Schools. Which is difficult in the current educational climate that expects academic growth.
  9. One other thing that all of us should consider are the assistant coaches that Harp has had thrust upon him. I have heard unconfirmed rumors that there were no Social Studies or PE positions available when he was looking to hire assistant coaches. If this is true, the administartion is crippling the football program. I would be curious to know how many assistants that he has been allowed to hire? Additionally, how many has he been allowed to let go from the Crane regime? I know this seems like a trivial detail, but quality assistant coaches could lead to an additional 1-2 wins a year.
  10. I am unsure whether Harp is a great coach or a mediocre one. But one thing that I do know is that every Lebanon fan or former player that I have ever met is delusional in regards to the talent level of the players at Lebanon. You do not have the talent to consistently win games on the 6A level. I agree with an earlier post in that most talented players zoned for Lebanon do not want to go there. For example, FCS's starting quarterback that is on the verge of committing to UT was zoned for Lebanon. In summation, Lebanon fans should be happy that they won 3 games this year. It takes a very long time to change a culture of losing.
  11. No, there is no little Johnny in the Sackmaster household. I would just like to see the program improve. Sorry if it seems like I am trash talking free agent. Just seems to me that three losing seasons in a row with various assistant coaches and players would constitute a change in leadership. I simply wanted input on whether MJ could become a competitive program again. And when I say competitive, I mean having a winning season and maybe a first round play off win.

  13. After seeing several MJ games this year and speaking to several MJ players, I have come to the conclusion that the HC is the source for many of the problems in the program. It seems to me that inevitably TP will be fired. I would like to get some of your thoughts on how many head coaches would be interested in the position if it became available. Has it become a dead end job that they would struggle to fill or is MJ a sleeping giant that successful coaches would flock too?
